Thanks Pura, Yes I did that originally as you should plug the charger into the Airwheel first, then plug it into the wall & switch the power on. Nothing did work, so I did buy a new charger back then which solved the issue :) Great to see this thread is still reaching people & helping them after all these years, I couldn't find any help back then. I had the exact same problem and I fixed it by replacing the cord between the wall and the charger. I got one with the charger with a UK plug and I replaced it with a cord from my laptop with a Swedish plug instead. :) really happy to finally find a solution!
My Airwheel X3 would not charge out of the box. I opened the charger noticed the fan was also not running. TAKE CARE IT'S LIVE MAINS IN THERE !! You will find a blue multiturn pot on the low voltage side. (My charger was putting out 55 volts to the plug) I adjusted this pot whilst switching the power off and on to reset the charger. At one point the red light came on and went off again. This means you are near the correct setting. A half turn or two found the point where the red light stays on and charging starts. (You should now have 67.5 volts on the output). Wait a few seconds between switching on and off for the capacitors to discharge to avoid “spiking” the unit.
Update for everyone, May 2015. Airwheel supplier in China offered to sell me a new charger for aprox. $80 $AUD delivered = supposedly an upgraded model as they'd had issues with the original chargers, (Thanks for admitting original were faulty but at the same time not offering to replace it !!!) Not impressed with this solution offered by the manufacturer, we went onto Aliexpress and ordered a new charger for aprox. $28.00 $AUD delivered, model JC-40-60V 67.2V/2A. Received it and it works a treat, problem solved and Airwheel fun with kids can begin again.
Thank you for your advice, I will certainly try this. My other concern is the charger gets hot and it has an internal fan which does not work, so this is also a reason why I suspect the charger is faulty?
Hello, I was just gifted this used AirWheel, it had a full charge when I received it, but no charger. Bought one from Amazon, however here I am. Followed all of the suggestions in the comments, but no luck. What ended up being the solution? Should I contact the manufacturer in hopes they still will provide new chargers?
Most of these devices have a sensor in the system, to detect the battery power. In your case, most probably it cannot detect the battery power in Airwheel. You could try to discharge the Airwheel as much as possible then try charging again.
Dude… I have the same problem but now is resolved… 1. Plug the charger into airwheel (do not plug into wall socket) 2. Connect charger to wall socket and power on Frm you video it will not work cos ur plug is in the wall socket… it had to be fully connect to airwheel then u plug into wall socket

So i read Sheldon xu comment in the comment section; so reverse the roles, so there is a button that looks like a reset button next to the airwheel charging port, in fact i believe that is what it is, i pressed that a couple of times FIRST, then i proceeded as Sheldon mention plugged in charger into airwheel FIRST, then i plugged charger into the wall and WALA CHARGER TURNED RED, MEANING THAT IS CHARGING; SO KRIS YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY THAT, ALTHOUGH THIS WAS LIKE 6 YEARS AGO BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, YOU PROBABLY FIGURE IT OUT OR SIMPLY BOUGHT A NEW CHARGER; BECAUSE I HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM IN THE PAST NOW, WHERE THE LIGHT IS SHOWING RED ON CHARGER, BUT THE CHARGER IS DEFECTIVE, SO IT COULD BE THAT TOO. I have the same problem guys. I'm pretty sure its not the charger. I had 2 airwheels and 2 chargers, one airwheel worked fine and the other didn't charge no matter which charger i used. I even replaced the battery with a new one which was darn expensive. I tried charging it as soon as the new battery was in but the light stayed green so i assumed this was because the battery was full. So i rode it around for 20 minutes until only 3 lights were showing; then i tried charging it and nothing. light stays green. I believe it must be an internal problem with a sensor detecting the battery level. No solution as of yet.

I've tried every way of connecting and no go. Also in Australia when the power point is off, there's no connection or power running so it's the same as having it unplugged? If the charger is not faulty, then it would be the Airwheel itself, I'm still waiting for the supplier to let me know. If I don't hear soon, I'll send the whole thing back to them.
Kris W I've got a phone number that I called and they're gonna check it out for me. They said they're gonna replace the battery for free if that's the case, I just have to pay for the shipping (around 15 dollars to get it there and back)
Robert Smith Just confirming are you in Australia also or somewhere else? I have spoken directly to the China supplier and they will only offer a new charger which works out to be around $38 $AUD + shipping! Not overly impressed with their after sales service as they openly admit they've had issues with these chargers.....
I just had the same problem. Plugging in the charger did nothing for it. I the X3 and found there is a black four-contact connector from the battery charger plug and the battery itself. It does not have a good firm clip to keep the connection. I got a paper clip out and wrapped it around the connector between the wires pins on both ends and reassembled the Airwheel. It now runs fine and charges fine. It's a quick fix. No need to buy a new connector.

pay attention to the notch in the air wheel socket also plug it into the wall last

You just have to plug in the charger to the airwheel before you take it in to the wall :)

My airhweel is not charging at all! When I got it it was dead and the green light is on what do I do to fix this???
