Cherax Destructor or Western Blues. Pfft. What would I know though. I'm so tempted by crays. I can't eat shellfish (salties have iodine) but fresh water shellfish should be okay. I'll test it one day, when I have an epi pen handy. LOL. I'm impressed with the step up you clever bugger. Nice work. (Agreed about the escapee status. I reckon they come with tiny files or something.)
Cherax destructor I think. Shame about your allergy, isn’t the body weird in what is ok for some people to eat will send another into anaphylactic shock. I’m pleased the yabbies are happy and healthy in their home. That’s about all I know of fish keeping. Try and keep them healthy.
A trick I found was using stripes of shade cloth as well as the pvc off cuts... I can stock huge amounts of yabbies without a single death from fighting

Try applying 3 inch clear packaging tape to areas the yabbys climb. It should prevent that.
