Every night I flop on the bed and watch 10 minutes of some geezer on a roof in France. And I get just.. happy 😊
Dude's younger than I am. This tells me my dust farts dust.
i do exactly the same mate. happened a couple of times tht i checked and he uploaded 10min ago, perfect
Geezer? He is in his 30's not 60's
Yep, bed with Dan is great but geezer? (Geezer here too)
Same. I’m across the world in Midwest, and look forward to these every night…
Finally an exterior Lift System after all this time!!
Yep, took them long enough -_-
I wrote that 6 month ago ...why so late
Placing an order is easy. Delivery may take months! How long did the timber for the roof take to arrive........and money $$$$$$$ Material costs for this project will be "mega bucks"!
Dan may have been waiting to get a sponsor to provide one.
That is what I thought 😂
A cup of coffee and a good show. Better than cable tv. 💕🙏
And no bs
So true!
It's really good watching no sugar coating anything a true labour of love and determination
This is my favorite CZcams channel to watch now. I keep checking to see if the new video is up absolutely love it and have respect for these hard-working men!!
This and the pleathernecks they're rebuilding a convent these two channels daily
@@erikstevens9203. Me too. I was nicely surprised to see Michael Petherick at Nick’s birthday celebration.
@@kathryndunworth4070 Michael is my favorite Plethorick. So talented. And humble. Love him to bits.
MJS Have you watched the Pethericks , they are restoring a monestary looks like the one on Harry Potter.
Our greatest fear? The emptiness when the chateau is finished. Until then, so much to enjoy! So just take your time Dan, good for your safety and health. And our peace of mind too...
Dan is an action man. Maybe he will sell the chateau for a huge profit and move on to a new job. Or if he makes enough cash, just start a new project for your titillation. Did you consider that?
Dan will just start something else
The interiors, the pool, etc etc will keep him going for a few years yet, and I have no doubt he's already saving towards his next project.
The chateau won’t be finished for a while I am guessing. We shall enjoy.
You're right, but it's the chemistry between Dan, the chateau, his friends and the unique work that touches me every evening...@@PreservationEnthusiast
I can’t wait until you begin repairing the masonry to tie all of the framing in.
yeah, not much chateaux - except very dodgy crumbling wall up there
@@tonyug113 Adding an 'x' to chateau makes it plural (in French, of course.)
100,000 views in 3 hours is a real testament to what this one man can achieve. I salute you Dan.
Also a possible explanation for all the state of the art equipment--sponsors love views.
The chateau is lovely, but don’t forget Dan’s personality and creativity with the camera. Those are the icing on the cake.
Yea Nick is back with another load of lumber and helping Dan. He certainly needed it! And Brian will be back Monday so he'll have the team back together. Minus Calvin! The roof framing is coming together and looking magical! Good video Dan!
All this roofin stuff is good, but where are the puppies 🐶 🤔?? I wanna see pups!!
Things move quickly when Nick is around, I am glad Brian is back on Monday ❤
It is amazing what an extra pair of hands can help accomplish. I have been working on a (quite small) building project and it moves 3-4 times faster when my brother can help vs. trying to maneuver and hold things in place while fastening them by myself.
Dan. This roof seems to have gone so smoothly and you have done brilliantly. You make it look so easy when it's not.
I cannot tell you how happy I am that you are at this stage in the summer. I vividly remember being terrified as you were putting up the first roof in the force gale winds. This is SO MUCH BETTER!
So happy Nick is around coming up, not only is he a tremendous help, but he'll keep you in safety check!!!!!
Honestly Dan it is amazing how far you have come , I never would believe it if I didn't see it every day . Well done you .
Saying hi from Singapore! I just realised that I’ve been following your progress for more than a year now and have been religiously waiting for your video upload everyday. Somehow, watching you put the chateau back together relaxes me after a hard and stressful day at work. Thanks for the therapy and congrats to all your achievements, Dan! Stay safe!
It’s nice to see Nick having a break for once. He usually never stops moving.
I think Nick wanted a break from being an arborist (tree surgeon). So physically demanding and isolated. I guess this is where his apprentice is now taking care of his former clients. Nick is enjoying the company and being part of a team. His multiple skills are also appreciated.
Awesome, Dan! Always remember....You are always where you're supposed to be.👍
Yes, Nic's back 🥳
It's impressive what you've done in less than a few weeks on this side that took you almost three months on the first side! Outstanding!!
Well done, Dan! Your dreams are rising higher and higher. What a wonderful example for your boys; keep dreaming and keep building!!!!
And keep sharing.😊
Your forthright honesty and self deprecation is awesome and intoxicating
You did it, got yourself a GEDA Lift 👍
Dan setting an example for all of us with his much more complicated project.
My mom gave me a home in South Carolina that I had to redo. I wanted to put a big south carolina front porch on the house that covered the full length of the house with a tin room. I hired a guy to build it, however it was done so badly that I had to fire him. The problem was that I had to rebuild. I studied building on youtube and then I started to tear down. I had to dig six holes, 4 feet down, fill with concrete and hangers to attach the boards to. I did it all myself, took me two years. The tough part was the roof and getting the beams up by myself, hoping nothing would fall. In the end I was proud of what I had done. It is still there and the house has sold three times since I owned it with the price going up. But what I learned is that I loved the process. I loved to look at what I had done every single day. When it was done, I would always have my coffee each morning on the front porch. Now, as I watch you, I feel I need another project. You and thos helping are doing a great job. I am waiting to see what it all looks like in the end. Keep doing good work.
You can always volunteer to help them out. You have experience now 😂
Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure with the world. I’m enjoying every minute of it. (Though I’m always glad when you have someone else around. I worry about you less)
Glad that Nick has returned. Bit more help. Now things will Gallup along.
Looking super spiffy in a white tee st a construction site. Well done ✌️😉 🎉

I am starting to dread fridays, 'cause its not "see you tomorrow" but instead "see you on monday" 😂. Always great to watch your progress!
So great to have nick back. Dan does amazing by himself BUT as for me I can now relax a little lol 🤗
Glad to see Nick is back helping today.
It was good to see Nick and will be great to see Brian (sp) back as well. Well done Dan.
Fabulous news an exterior lift system has arrived! Amen 🙏
Dan,Nic. Now that the main structure of the roof is finished. Hopefully from here on everything will be much easier to build. I’m glad Nic and Brian will help you in two weeks. Well my love, until Monday. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya 🍺🍺🕊❤️🙏🇺🇸🌹😇👍🌞🌈
So nice to see Nick back with you today Dan. Great team and great job You and Nick. All the best.
Hi Nick :-) have great weekend with your family Dan
Roof finished in two weeks. Yay!! I just hope it doesn't start raining on you until it's finished. The current roof structure work is just amazing.
Awsome work as always. Such an amazing transformation in such a short time. It's truly impressive and inspiring.
See you on monday. Have a nice weekend!
Your determination in this project, the dedication of your friends to this dream, especially Nick, defines what community means. More community with love and respect is what we All need.
Dan is the craziest man I know. And he is doing it!
Well, hope you have a relaxing weekend, young fella 😊
Can't believe the pace you're going great work ❤
7 minutes in and already 6.5 thousand views, seems it’s not just me that waits for that notification. Brilliant job today. Have a great weekend. Sleep well lad K🇬🇧❤️❤️
I think a forest worth of trees 🌲 has been used for this project ! 💕
Haha, just want to write that. 😂
And, he's using the trees in his forest .........loved watching the logs go through the saw.
I absolutely love watching this channel just before I go to sleep. It's the best thing to end the day on. 😊🇬🇧
I appreciate your determination to carry out this difficult and risky project, if it were easy it would not have taken 5 decades in which no one tried. I can say that your channel is my favorite and I enjoy every chapter, I can now close my eyes and walk around the building. Please wear a helmet for your safety, there is a lot of loose debris at altitude. Thank you for the quality of what you do.
Dan, what you have achieved so far is amazing. So glad Nick is back to help with the A frame and roof😊
So glad to see Nick and Brian are coming back to help you. You are one hard and determined worker. So please how things are coming along. And so pleased that you have such good dedicated workers... They are awesome.❤
Wonderful to have your best bud Nick back! Glad to see you shorten those dowels, was so much waste. Now tie your dang shoelaces before you break your ankle! Looking fwd to fellas coming Mon, have a great wkend.
Amazing camera angles looking up at the height!
So glad Nick is there to help. I nearly had a heart attack when you were lifting those frames and you lost grip of one.
So exciting to see it all come together.
Can you imagine the craftsmanship that was put into this roof, No power tools just knowledge and craftsmanship.
Goood morning team ❤
Men with their shirts off while I can’t feel my fingers and toes because it’s sooo cold 🥶 is a great way to warm up 😂 🙌🤣
Glad Bryan’s back next week and Nick was in for a day to help with the top thingys …
Have a fantastic weekend and we will see you on my Tuesday ❤
Love them top thingy’s!!😉

Finally the external elevator has arrived! Now the work will pay off a lot. Congratulations.🥳
Yay my Dan fix before bed time. Excellent
You continue to amaze me Dan....every video better than the one before! Total entertainment! Happy to see Nick back with you.
Anything that makes the lifting easier👍👍
You guys are a working machine!❤❤
Doing a super job!
I'm so glad for you. Love your everyday of news and progress. Have a nice weekend.

The progress you are making is unbelievable. Well done! 🙌
Awesome progress on the roof Dan! 😀
If you're happy happy, happy, happy, happy clap your hands! 👏👏👏👏🤗🎉🎉 Bravo Dan, superb carpentry.
Amazing progress!
Good morning! I'm so glad to hear the roof structure is done. You are amazing. Continue to strive with Nick's assistance and knowledge. 😊😊
Best part of my day! 😃
Sorry about the banged finger- it looked painful! You are fortunately sure-footed and agile, wrestling with lumber and tools that are unforgiving. It's so worthwhile to see you advancing towards another roof! Well-done!
Big Dan, glad to see Nick back with you, you'll have a bonnet on it in no time, hope you and Nick toasted a couple 🍻 beers on this beautiful day!! We'll see ya on Monday
Good to see you got a ladder vader. It hurt my back watching you and your help since this project began.
Yay. Nick is back to help!
Thanks Dan. Enjoy your weekend.
Impressive progress
Glad to see nick back .
Good morning Nic, I just love seeing you on the job. A true man
as an IT person who on return to NZ was only able to become a sales assistant - too old - and who worked with builders was told by them that 'wood' was there - pointing to a tree; and that - pointing to processed 'timber' was timber. (gulp). cooooooool build though, learning heaps.
Interesting. In the northeastern USA where I grew up, timber was a cut tree and the processed planks were wooden boards.
@@tamarlindsay8382 that is interesting. definite difference in terms. what you say makes sense to me; not being a 'trained' builder.
Wow .... Dan .... did you ever think you would be here now . What an achievement. I am still enthralled with your enthusiasm... from Cairns, Australia.
This is a thing of beauty. Monsieur Francois (Mansart) would be proud if you
I live for these updates!
Thank God Nick was there! Your dogs are beautiful. They seem to be well behaved also.
Hola from Ecuador!
That would be a nice ad for Dan and/or Nick's Chateau Rebuilding Company!
I am in awe with the work you have done on the roof structure. It looks so fabulous have a nice weekend you’ve earned it
Been waiting all day for you
great progress ,cant wait 4 roofs
Absolutely incredible pace you are working at. Great to see Nick back again. Many thanks 😊
Yeah but when it's done it's done and you are very precise in your measurements. One step at a time Dan. You got this.
Keep it up, Dan. I can't wait to see you and Jack and Thomas, and whoever else you love living it up in the chateau you restored. Until then, I love every minute, sometimes breathtaking, of this restoration. More power to Dan!❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉😊
Luv “a bit of hard work…”
Understatement!
Dan, the construction work you are doing is beyond amazing but today’s camera angles and filming was stellar! Two more weeks of work and the whole look of the chateau will change. Have a good weekend and thanks for sharing this magnificent journey with us. 🇨🇦🙏❤️
Great progress 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Enjoy the weekend and see ya Monday 😍😘
