  • Here is how I rebuilt the heater box on this 1976 BMW 2002. The foam deteriorates over time which leads to unwanted air blowing into the cabin. Also the fans tend to stop working and the heater control levers seize. In this video you will learn how to fix these problems in your heater box! The rebuild kit was purchased from blunttech. Hope it helps!

Haven't finished watching yet but I already feel so glad you posted this! Planning on doing this on my 2002 in the near future and knowing how thorough, skilled, and knowledgable you are with these cars gives me the confidence to tackle the job 💪

I juste did the same 15 years ago on my 73 2002, but without a vidéo.
Sure it'll help out those in need of a repair/recommissioning process.
    Keep on wrenchin' dude!

Welp, i gotta embark on this journey now with our one family owned 69 2002. Never been touched. Fan motor is kaput. levers stiff to move. The connector short hose and the brass valve is original and fossilized. Lucky it hasn't burst by now. I pulled the cylinder head which is at a machine shop (waiting, waiting). With the water hoses off and the coolant out, it's time. Journey of 1,000 miles begins but with one step. Thanks for a great video.

David, restoring a 71 2002 and have really appreciated all your previous content on your Tii project. Have my heater box out and ready for reassembly, so loving this episode. Great to know about the kit for the foam and bushings. One note on first generation 2002s… the lever panels don’t pop out and you have to fish the cables out from the backside of dash. Glad you are creating new content. Keep it coming!
