Thanks a ton bro, it was of a great help. I made a pack file with like 21 expansion packs, and installed it on my keyboard. In brief, the steps are:
1) Attach a pen drive to SX900, export instrument info from the expansion menu
2) Download the packs you want to install on your laptop from the Yamaha website
3) Import instrument info into the Yamaha Expansion Manager (YEM) software on your laptop, you will see SX 900 once done.
4) Import all the downloaded packs from your laptop into the SX900 that you see on the YEM software
5) Finally, export the pack file onto your pen drive from the YEM software
6) Attach the pen drive to the SX900, and import the pack file into the SX900 from the expansion menu and you are done

Use Only Yamaha Site... All the expansion packs are Free .. don't use any other sources... My personal opinion

Yesterday I saw a style called “20_captainsax6-8 rock”..today after installing the Indian expansions per this video, I dont see that style any more…I was using it for a song…any help is appreciated…thanks a lot
Yes... If you install any packs previous data will get deleted or you can say it Over right the data..
You have to Take backup first and install Packages with that data...
I also got that idea after the making of Video.. otherwise I would have mentioned it in the video...

Same as SX 900 shown in the Video..
Plug your USB to the Keyboard..
Go to Menu (Page 2)
Then go to Expansion
Click on Export Instrument Info.
Then Click Ok.
Then Instrument Info File will get created in USB..

hi Sir, Need your kind help please. I am trying to "export instrument info" from my yamaha PSR-SX700 but it says "unformatted flash drive". I have formatted the pen drive and tried inserting it into keyboard but have the same error. can you please help ? happy to connect over a virtual session as per the applicable charges.
Follow the Video steps Carefully..
Other than that, please check your instrument updated Firmware.. update the same once.
2nd Are you formating Pendrive from Laptop/ PC or from Instrument... I recommend formatting the pendrive from the Instrument.. then try again..
Sir, Your exlaination is tooooo god. I want to know,,, Why TABLA KIT 1 and TABLA KIT2 is showing missing from Indian Expansions? Thus tsome rhythms based on those kits are missing the rhy portions.

Pavan Sir Make sure you have Tick ✓ or Untick the Items when you convert your Expansion pack in to CPI files...
Sometimes it auto selects the Sounds and Rhythms while you export the Packs into the Expansion Manager... Cross verify before converting them...

I hv already done so, after reading nd processing, ticks from these two kits fades out automatically, even from others Indian expansions also. Thus these kits are not written in final cpi.

Sir, when I import the expansions in yamaha expansion manager, it says to login to yamaha online member in order to use purchased packs...... I have an account but when I login there, it shows unable to login to yamaha expansn manager.......can u plzz help me sir ?...cuz I really need that expansion, m very worried....plz reply
I don't think this kind of log in asked by that software.... Have you export expansion information from the keyboard before importing the Packs in the software.?
Or Try to Reinstall the Expansion Manager software. Also check firmware update for the keyboard once.

I tried to install a CPI file on my SX900
Of course with file 27
And I was told that it cannot be installed
And when I installed a PPI file it worked for me

No... 700 drivers are different... The system won't support drivers from 900... Settings are the same.. make your own Sounds following the videos ..

Apka Purpose kya hai wo pehele socho... The Yamaha SX series is a semi professional Keyboard... And Roland Fantom is a Highly Professional Board...
If you want to do Shows Concerts on a bigger scale then Go for Roland Fantom.. Costs Rs. 1.5 Lack approx
otherwise go for the SX series...
Roland XPS30 is a good option for the SX series if we compare the Price point...

I have always been using Casio keyboards and now after switching to SX700, finding it really difficult to handle. I was once thinking of selling this keyboard, but I know for sure that this SX700 is one of the best keyboards in the market. There is no Option right now for the same.. whenever we Add more expansion Old one will get Deleted...
What we need to do is Whenever we Ad New we must add With the Old one..

You can use Multiple Expansion Packs on your keyboard... You just need to Install them all at a time...
Sab expansions ek sath Load karni Hai... ek Ek karke nahi Hoga... coz when you Install one pack; previous packs automatically get deleted...

You have to install multiple expansion "at a time" one by one Kiya to pehelewala auto delete ho jata hai...

No... You need to run Expansion Manager to Change format for keyboard... You can not do it in Android..

PLEASE CONFIRM ONE THING THAT IF WE INSTALL INDIAN STYLE EXPANSION PACK IN YAMAHA SX700 THEN THE PRE-INSTALLED PACKS WILL WORK OR NOT. BECAUSE IN SOME CZcams VIDEOS , I SAW THERE WAS A WARNING THAT ALL PRE-INSTALLED DATA WILL DELETED.
Yes... pre-installed Expansion data will be deleted... Not Presets..
But that Pre Installed Expansion Data is also available on the Yamaha Expansion Pack.. you can Copy the same and re install with the your Expansion... Simple

This file connat be installed to the instrument!!! Why??? Cpi file
CPI is the file format which can be read by the Instrument (OS)
That's why we need to convert through 'Expansion Manager'
Follow the detail procedure...
Or Update the Instrument OS once (check firmware update)
Now it's 1.11 I guess
I'm have the same issue as instrument says file can't be installed. I followed your steps step by step. I'm converting it to CPI through "Expansion Manager" like you did but still not working. I also updated instrument firmware to the lates 1.11 but still not working. any help?? @@Shadjapanchammusiic

@@Shadjapanchammusiic I fixed the issue. Now the other issue is SX900 can install only 1 package. When you want to install another package the instrument will automatically delete the old package. How can you save packages in your user instead of expansion memory?
