I’ve heard some of the 5 star reviews are fake and paid by the manufacturer or seller. Edit: not necessarily for this dress but for items sold on Amazon in general. Don’t know if that conspiracy is true. But this was picked because of the high number of 1 star ratings. Averages can be misleading.
Lots of 1 star dresses r probably one size only so they probably needed more size options

actually loved the green one backwards! Changed the whole shape and she rocked it! I would keep it!
Same! The shape of it worked better backward and the keyhole gave it a little something extra.

The key hole literally just needs some satin or lace ribbon sewn over the rough edges.
She should have worn a smaller jacket and brown booties

Megans black one completely missed the marked with all that unnecessary shredding.
Even in the 2000's those kind of dresses only worked on people with basically no boobs. That cut was the bane of my middle school life.
Maybe for someone with no boobs and an hourglass shape? I'm a pear body type, and this style made me look like I was pregnant! It clung to the belly and hovered around my stomach/larger hips.
I was pregnant in 2003-2004. I never had to buy maternity clothes :)

I've written similar ones that I've bought in store and the neckline was much better and the dresses worked for a G-cup like me. But yes, I am also in the "hourglass" body shape category, so it can be an important factor.

There was no sewing going on - just bad hacking with scissors. Not even a rolled hem, just raw edges of fabric. Ugh.

Connie wins because she's the only one of the three that styled the dress as it was & didn't go with the much cuter 'sweater over it'option that hid it/made it a skirt. Jasmine gets second because while backwards & altered it's still mostly the dress. Megan's is fine but she cut it beyond recognition lol

The dress wasn't great, but they were definitely reaching. And I felt two of them cheated by cutting up their dresses
Blonde did it best... I preferred the second look but both were cute. Jazmine's idea was cute I just didn't like the rectangular bit under neck and wish she went for the darker jacket. Megan. Sigh. I'm so disappointed! The halter was sooo cute. The finished look was soooo not.
Megan's final look reminded me of Meredith on the office on Casual friday

Totally agree. Megan should have left it at the earlier halter and Jasmine should have worn the black denim jacket with those black booties. The blue denim was too big for the dress and it overpowered it. I liked the little keyhole design and it looked much better backward. Connie did a great job. Could have paired it with a pair of leggings too, but those boots really elevated the overall look.
The red dress was looking cute, then the boots were too much the dress needed to be shorter

Anna May they’re just exaggerating for the video. I’m assuming amazon contacted them and was like make this dress wearable it has too many one stars. So they emphasize how bad it is so their versions seem better

I liked Jasmine’s dress but didn’t like the jean jacket she paired it with. Connie’s dress looked better with the sweater over it. So it only looked like a skirt. And Megan’s I didn’t like at all. I like her though. 🙂

I think it is a basic, easy wearing dress that you can layer with other pieces and it was under $20 - what were they expecting, a perfectly tailored cocktail dress with on trend details? This is the type of dress you throw on to go to the grocery store or over your swim suit on the way to the beach.
I feel like because they knew how many low ratings it had they went in with a preconceived notion that it would be awful. If they had just been told "here style this dress" with like no context I don't think there would have been near as much hesitation or hate.
It’s only ok if you have small breasts. The 500 one star reviews are probably from people with more than a b cup bust...which is a lot of people

Yes, a belt to bring it in and give some shape. I like black leather would be better than denim - I think black works better and denim can bring a cheap look depending on condition.

You guys this is what my life is dedicated to 😩 showing women you can truly take what you have and transform it to something completely different that’s makes you feel good! You ladies did it. The confidence was bigger and better than anything else!
The blonde one put a belt on it and it was fine pretty immediately lol I couldn't take how she kept saying the length was bad or it was junior high dress code though...it looks like what you'd wear to any normal office job. I still wouldn't personally buy clothes from Amazon, but this dress was really not that bad.

All three of you look GREAT! I love what you each did to elevate those otherwise drab and unflattering dresses, each outfit fashionable and unique to the woman wearing it. Connie, just that belt alone helped SO much. My fave look was with the white cable sweater with a French tuck, but you made the right call. I sighed at losing the look but it did say skirt not dress. Jasmine the triangle keyhole was inspired. That and the shorter length turned the dress super cute! With the boots and the jacket off the shoulder, right ON. Why at work did you keep the jacket nearly closed? And Megan you tried so hard with that sad garment. I liked the halter look best, but it was more going out then going to work. Plus the strapless look with the leather jacket and those boots? Yes!
