In reality she started off pretty bad and by the time she was about to have Steven had matured a TON. Steven also didn't really manipulate Spinel, he really meant that he would put that stuff behind him. He was just concerned with getting Garnet back to normal before helping Spinel.

When I saw the Lapises with Japser, I immediately thought Jasper would, in her desire to be fused with Lapis, simply fuse with another Lapis. These new Lapises would probably be willing to do so A. since inter-gem fusion is now acceptable and B. they (presumably) also want revenge on Steven
I sincerely hope they won’t make these two just another reason to have our Lapis go into angst mode again. Seriously, I want to see her when she’s not emotionally troubled or ridiculously edgy(the creators‘ own words btw). It’s okay if she knows them(which she probably will), but we should still be able to get natural behavior from her. I am looking forward to seeing them though because frankly, Lapis Lazulis are by far the major Gem type we know the least about despite being introduced all the way back in season 1. We know nothing of their role and ranking in Gem society other than them presumably being fairly high up on the account of BD recognizing our particular Lapis(but not Sapphire, who was said to be outright aristocratic, seriously, what was up with that?) and if it wasn’t for that one line in YD‘s song, we wouldn’t even know what their job is. And even that part is incredibly vague. Not that many planets have water, which is required for Lapis Lazulis to actually be in high demand. Or maybe they bring the water with them through space and terraform the planets this way, I have no idea. More Lapises will force them to shed more light on this matter. Seriously, it can’t be that we know more about Nephrites than we know about Lapis Lazulis.

I’d like to believe with Jasper & 2 other Lapis coming into the series, our Lapis will be given more shine. But after how her, Peridot, & Bismuth were handled in the movie I’m not getting my hopes up. It would’ve been the perfect moment to give them shine as Steven’s other support system, as Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl were out of commission. But ended up singing one song and watching the drill for the rest of the movie. I hope I’m wrong but I see it all just revolving around Steven like season 5, with bits of the original crystal gems, Greg, and Connie

I'm so happy that Why So Blue came out because it gave us a different perspective on Lapis, and Lapis Lazulis as a whole. A few months ago my sister and her boyfriend got me into the show and Lapis was the character that stood out to me the most for personality and development reasons. Based on this channel's history, I'm sure she's not the most popular character with Slice's fanbase, and I understand why a big chunk of the fanbase farted at her character throughout the first 3 1/2 seasons or so. I'm just glad to see that she went form terraforming planets and abusive relationships to appreciating different forms of life and becoming a proud member of the crystal gems. I love her! What a solid victory for the Crewniverse!!👍

So unless we want to turn Jasper into an obsessive stalker, I think it’s pretty clear that Lapis has 0 interest in forming any kind of a relationship at this point, and Jasper knows this. And with the inclusion of Bismuth into the Barn trio, I don’t think Jasper’s going to be joining their team. I think that, like how Spinel had too much history with Pink Diamond and had to start over with someone other than Steven, any kind of Jasper redemption arc is going to be about finding a healthy relationship, and that’s gonna have to be done with someone other than her ex’s.

Here's a thought. If Lapis' are used to terraform planets and now Homeworld no longer wants to conquer worlds, water is necessary for pretty much all known forms of life, this means that Lapis' cold be used to terraform new worlds to support new life or even help existing life. I could see one of these lapis' going on and presenting themselves as some kind of savoir to a struggling race but with Gem prejudice to organics they don't care about the adoration they receive and instead abuse the race they save.
Finally! Great to see you back doing SU review/theory content. Not gonna lie, between Raising the Barn and Change your mind I heavily and unashamedly criticized Lapis as a character. I don't regret it, and her superfans didn't make it any easier to like her. But Lapis as a character is a lot more tolerable now, and finally she was able to change from that godawful frilly (helpless maiden style) beach skirt into something a little more active and action ready. I still don't favor her as a character all that much, mainly for how swiftly she was forgiven for her personal mistakes, but she definitely still earned her place as a Crystal Gem during the Reunited and CYM fights, plus knowing she may start to handle her issues a little more constructively for now on, which makes perfect sense considering both Lapis and Bismuth who had the toughest times handling their issues constructively were in charge of constructing Little Homeworld and Peridot, who had the most constructive development was in charge of monitoring their progress makes both Lapis and Bismuth even more fascinating characters going onward.
Lapis is cool and all but I *NEED* a fallow up on the Jasper arc! Jasper was hands down the best villain the show ever had and I can’t get enough of her! Wonder if she’ll have anything to do with the new Lapises? Lapi? Who cares.
for. Placemnt is key for a gem personality. Like pearl and peridot their forehead placement means the gems are very logical and have trouble controlling their emotional outburst. Navey gems are completely emotional

"Perfect" and "from Earth" feel like two entirely different things for Jasper. A positive and a Negative equals a negative, so Jasper feels as though she is inadequate because she is from Earth. Earth is Bad because that's where the Great Big Bad Happening Event, happened. Her great leader, the Diamond Jasper was Made for had shattered herself and left Jasper behind. That series of events scarred and Emotionally WRECKED Jasper. She's Gone, and now Jasper has to try and cope with that.
I wouldn't say naval gems are psychopaths. That placement is to show that they go with their gut. They act on instincts rather than logic most of the time.

But Lapis as a character is a lot more tolerable now, and finally she was able to change from that godawful frilly (helpless maiden style) beach skirt into something a little more active and action ready.
I still don't favor her as a character all that much, mainly for how swiftly she was forgiven for her personal mistakes, but she definitely still earned her place as a Crystal Gem during the Reunited and CYM fights, plus knowing she may start to handle her issues a little more constructively for now on, which makes perfect sense considering both Lapis and Bismuth who had the toughest times handling their issues constructively were in charge of constructing Little Homeworld and Peridot, who had the most constructive development was in charge of monitoring their progress makes both Lapis and Bismuth even more fascinating characters going onward.
The one on the left below them looks like a fusion of Jasper and White Diamond.
Lapis is cool and all but I *NEED* a fallow up on the Jasper arc! Jasper was hands down the best villain the show ever had and I can’t get enough of her! Wonder if she’ll have anything to do with the new Lapises? Lapi? Who cares.
I never realized gem placement matters
for. Placemnt is key for a gem personality. Like pearl and peridot their forehead placement means the gems are very logical and have trouble controlling their emotional outburst.

@@15step for gems like amythest blue and yellow pearl don't know. But for lapis having a gem on her back signifies that she is often unsure of herself.

Navy gems if I remember correctly are emotion driven gems the opposite forehead gems.

"Perfect" and "from Earth" feel like two entirely different things for Jasper. A positive and a Negative equals a negative, so Jasper feels as though she is inadequate because she is from Earth.
Earth is Bad because that's where the Great Big Bad Happening Event, happened.
Her great leader, the Diamond Jasper was Made for had shattered herself and left Jasper behind.
That series of events scarred and Emotionally WRECKED Jasper.
She's Gone, and now Jasper has to try and cope with that.

I wouldn't say naval gems are psychopaths. That placement is to show that they go with their gut. They act on instincts rather than logic most of the time.
