I saw her sing in a trouser role in Houston in a Rossini opera. Must have been in the late 70's. Her voice made every seat vibrate to the beauty of her sound. This is just great.
Such an emotional song to listen to when you understand the story and when it is sang so beautifully, the world stops around you. Wonderful depth and clarity in her amazing voice. I hope that my voice has any percentage of her quality when I sing this lovely song. Encore! x

Welll, she makes such a meal out of it. Its a simple song but for me in this version that simplicity was lost...
