Jeannine"Nina" McMurray is Freckle's mother and Rocky's aunt. She first appears in "Reciprocity" and is inadvertently responsible for Freckle's later involvement with Lackadaisy. Nina is strict, serious and very religious. Especially in the presence of her nephew Rocky, because she even hits when he takes his carefree ways too far. She appears to be more forgiving, even concerned, towards her son. When he was turned down by Academy Police, she asked Rocky to distract Calvin. (Inadvertently leading to Calvin starting to work for the Lackadaisy.)
Although her relationship with Rocky is often strict and serious, she always takes good care of her nephew. She often washes and sews his clothes, which, according to her, Rocky spoils every day. Nina also accepts her nephew's exuberant personality, but also violently stops him when Rocky takes it too far. She also reminded him to take care of his cousin and keep him out of trouble.
To be fair Rocky tried to keep Freckle away outta fear of him telling his mom, Ivy is the one to actually blame for unintentionally, or intentionally depending on how you look at it, getting him involved
The "extra filler lines" and the excessive dialogues you guys pointed out are mostly because this is clearly meant to simulate a stage play, as shown by the opening and ending sequence being an actual stage curtain.
The characters thus feel like they are actors on stage rather than real people having a normal conversation. Which explain their at times long winded lines, since that's how a stage actor emote for the audience.
Malcom ray the guy who played the big cat in the rival gang is from channel awesome he jumped on this role because of his families history with Cajun culture also everyone in his family practices martial arts
Rocky really got that orange cat energy without being an orange cat.
fr LOLL
Madness apparently runs in the family
@@weldonwin LMAO
The story is set in St. Louis, Missouri, Rocky was reciting his poem about the Mississippi River.
Mordecai Heller was born on March 28, 1899 in New York City, New York to German-Jewish immigrants, he lived with his 3 siblings. Before starting his education Mordecai suffered from congenital myopia and was forced to wear spectacles, After his father Issac passed from a stroke, Mordecai became very protective of his family and they moved to the east side of Manhattan in terrible living conditions. At the age of 13 Mordecai begins working as an accountant and bookie for grifters, loan sharks and gambling operations, he finished his primary education and in need of money at the age of 17 extorts money from someone minor in the crime world and later murders them to replace their role and was able to embezzle money from higher-ranks though he is later caught. In fright Mordecai leaves New York on a getaway train to either Chicago or Detroit, he leaves all the money for his family and meets Atlas May and later leaves with him to St. Louis, Atlas helps Mordecai get out of his former troubles and Mordecai decides to join Lackadaisy as a sharpshooter, though after Atlas’s death in 1926, Mordecai leaves and kneecaps his coworker Viktor, he later gets hired by Asa Sweet in early 1927 to be a triggerman for Marigold.
I'm blown away from just how incredible this turned out. The concept is really interesting, I love the setting and the animation, character designs, sound effects, and voice acting are all incredible. I also love how theatrical and unhinged Rocky is. Fable Siegel and the rest of the team did an amazing job bringing this world from webcomic to webvideo. I hope it's just the first of what's to come.
MordecaiHelleris a bootlegger and trigger-man for the Marigold gang and a supporting antagonist in the series, though he previously worked for the Lackadaisy crew.
Ivy Pepper is goddaughter of Atlas. That why he didn't shot her
A little info, Lackadaisy is based on a 2006 webcomic by Tracy Butler. The comic is full of fantastic artsy and well-done historical research on the 1920s, Rocky and Freckle are cousins who were raised together by Freckle mom Nina who is Rocky Aunt. The Savoys are Creole Cajuns brother & sister duo Serafine and Nicodeme. Also Mordecai used to work for the Lackadaisy under Altas who was Mitzi late husband & Mordecai mentor also the former boss of the speakeasy who was murder. Ivy is Altas goddaughter and basically grew up around Lackadaisy due to her dad being close to Altas.
I'm surprised you cut off the middle credits. That scene with Mitzi's dream of the Old times is one of everyone's favorite parts. Plus, Mr. Sable the Siamese owns Sable Quarry that they ruined.
That section got claimed
Prohibition last for 13 years (1920-1933)
Can't believe you guys cut out the best part seeing the club at it's pinnacle I was so sad when it suddenly skipped to the after credits lol
There was a copyright issue with the music unfortunately.
@@TheycallmeHatGuy I figured since that's not something you all do all the time also wow I got a response! Thank hat guy and Nikki!
Also always great to see you guys react you always funny and a great couple
@@TheycallmeHatGuy ive watched this episode like 15+ times from various reactors and you guys are the only ones ive seen completely cut out the ending. The song was literally made for the show. i will never understand why people cut something out thats part of the show and do it under the claim of "copyright"
if everyone else can do it just fine, why couldnt you?
@Myrkr Ormr how would it serve me to cut that part out for no reason?
@@TheycallmeHatGuy it wouldnt. Which is why i am confused as to why you did, when no one else ive reacted to did it.
15:20
Hatguy smiled first.
Everything about this show is great.
They call me the hat guy it would be interesting you're cats were in lackadaisy
Alcohol was also the cleanest drink they had. It was often either that or dirty water that might get people sick.
And when the 18th Amendment was proposed, it was approved (by Congress) on an approximately 2:1 bipartisan vote, and subsequently, 46 of 48 states ratified it. It is also inferred that the 18th Amendment was intended to target distilled "hard" alcohols (whiskey, etc), but the subsequent Volstead Act defined a threshold of 0.5% ABV which included ordinary beers, wines, and (hard) ciders. (Shortly before the 21st amendment repealed it, said threshold would be raised to 3.2%ABV)
It always makes me sad when viewers don't read the newspaper clipping at the begining it's so funning
It's always cool to see new animated stuff exist.
There is lackadaisy comic dubs
S1 confirmed.....excited for more chaptera
As of the Backerkit total right now, they have enough funding for 3 episodes and closing in on the full 5.
@@lunayoshi cool yet sadly each ep will be 10-15 minutes
@mikechicago6200 yeah, but now they have smashed that $1 million goal and are on their way to finding 3 more mini episodes, so that's pretty cool. :)
Also, the pilot took 3 years to make. If the episodes are shorter, maybe they'll come out sooner.
