This was PEAK Madonna. As an almost 42 year old I tell younger people all the time "You just had to be there" to understand how big she actually was. This is my favorite song she ever did by a landslide, and 1983-1990 Madonna was the best that has ever done it in that genre of music hands down. Not to say she wasn't amazing AFTER Justify My Love, (paging This Used To Be My Playground and Take A Bow) but. This version and era of her was untouchable. The she can't sing thing I have NEVER understood. People just want to jump into groups and bandwagons. I have Cyndi Lauper and Babyface MUCH higher on that list by the way
And she was so moved she cried at the end of the song when she was covering her face before she tilted her head back dramatically.

Yes I agree with you 101% She’s the best! Others hate her coz she’s staying the longest among her contemporaries of the 80’s. If only her new songs were given the chance to play in the mainstream regardless of age? Definitely, Madonna still rules the world. She’s the most relevant singer-songwriter- performer of all time. Let's be clear Madonna can sing!. The 80s she was raw and her voice was pure. She never said she was the best singer or did she want to be . She had a lot more to say and do.
Madonna is not is. She is are. There are so so so many facets of her artistic output, so many genres, so many musical styles. She transcends categories. She is an artist not a only a singer. So sometimes she doesn't sing live which is absolutely fine by her fans, as her performances are more than just vocal acrobatics.
You know what? I honestly never knew that people made such a big deal about her voice until later. I always liked her ballads and I always thoughts she was a great singer. I know she's an amazing performer as well. But, her voice is so easy on my hears. Love her. I will be doing a lot more from her.
