    Hi lovelies! Just wanted to answer the most common questions!
    1. I personally don't want to go down the lash lift route it scares me 😅
    2. The reason I wanted to try a serum despite having good natural lashes is because I wanted AWESOME ones 🤣 they can always be better 😜
    3. I am a very restless sleeper and move from back/side/front which could be why they're worse on one side but I can't control myself when I'm asleep sadly 😅
    4. I have previously tried castor oil for 6 months woth zero results x

      I’m with you on that. I’m a new grad and practice as a physician in the cosmetic surgery industry. We just brought in this serum & after two weeks of applying it three times a day ( an overkill to use more than once ) & in two short weeks, my lashes are freaking long and so beautiful.
      I always tell my patients and friends, “don’t cover up or mask an issue, treat the problem not the symptom. “
      Although the recommended usage is said to be once a day, I used it three times a day to see if it speeds up the lash length. I tried on each eye different amounts of treatments and I’m happy to say, once a day is enough.
      A bit costly, I went through two of the $100 lash serums - in a month . That’s a bit costly .

    Oh so now I get it!!! I kept telling me your lashes were oddly curled and much too curled which distracted me from watching you, and was giving you that spider lash effect. I'm sure your natural lashes will be back soon and just as amazing as they used to be. Love you XXX

    I have been using revitalash for about 5 years. I also have naturally long and healthy lashes but I love the added drama. When I turned 45 my eyelashes became way more sparse and this has amped it up. My lashes don’t grow in this curl pattern though so I completely understand why you’d want to wean off. Your lashes pre-serum were amazing!!

  • @chrissymoss514
    @chrissymoss514 Před 3 lety +9

    Actually no, I don't think you're mad.
    I thought you were purposely doing your lashes in way that forced them inwards, which if I'm being honest, I really don't like. I also thought there was a trend that I hadn't heard of, whereby inward lashes were the latest fad.
    I suppose the only other option would be an eyelash perm to straighten them (I have no idea if eyelash curlers could then be used to recurl them).
    Yes, I've used Revitalash and GrandeLash. As well as some decent lash growth I did notice that prolonged use made my eyelids darken! Needless to say, I stopped using any lash growth serums.
    Very lastly, you never needed a serum! You have THE very best, natural lashes! 💗💗

    When I first started watching you a year or so ago, I was so envious of your natural lashes. They are perfect! I get the struggle of wanting them to be thicker and I suspect that once you stop and you go through a full lash shed cycle ( it happens about every 7-8 weeks) you’ll be back to your regular lashes. I wear lash extensions and use NeuLash to keep my natural lashes healthy so I’m quite aware of my lash cycles. You’ll be back to your old self by the end of August. 💋 BTW, you’re not crazy! I totally get it.

    Thank you so much for your honesty and for clearing that up; because I have been looking at your eyelashes for the last couple months and have been thinking OMG you have amazing lashes, and you do, but now I understand why. You have good genetics and you were using serum. Personally I appreciate that you don’t wear false eyelashes all the time because many of the channels I watch are always wearing false eyelashes and that’s just not something I’m going to do, not because I’m against them, I’m just not proficient at them and don’t want to deal with them. I am 63 and honestly I have fairly decent lashes- people comment on them periodically, so I’m pretty sure at this point I should just leave well enough alone.

    I totally get what your talking about. I too have been getting the exact same results you are getting with that serum, rogue lashes in weird directions. My doctor recently told me that these eyelash serums also will effect the fat in your orbital socket area. I had noticed my eyes getting more deeper set lately and thought it was my ageing but these serums can cause that effect. So much so that she said a lot of hooded eye girls are using these lash serums to lessen their fat in their orbital area. I dont need that or want it, thank you very much. You are brave to discontinue, I want to but am afraid of seeing my lashes drop out one by one as i am washing my face and freaking out. Please do a follow up in a few months.

  • @dobcsek
    @dobcsek Před 3 lety +10

    Actually I stopped it as well, about 2 months ago. It did work for my lashes but it made my under eye darkness so bad. I am having Botox and fillers on a regular basis and when I went last Friday, the doctor complimented my under eye and told me how much better they got. I told her it was because I had stopped using eyelash serum. She told me then that she wouldn’t use them either because they have some side effects that aren’t worth.
    Edit: thanks for dr Dray who did a video about eyelash serums. I never had thought that the under eye darkness could be because of the freaking eyelash serum. I am predisposed to have dark under eye anyways so I just thought it was getting worse with age.

I personally don’t give anyone a second look concerning these things, so I doubt anyone else is doing the same to me. I like to look awake and fresh for myself, but I could probably get roughly the same results with three products in 5 minutes.

    I’ve had exactly the same experience. My lashes have all grown in different directions where they cross over eachother and look clumpy with mascara on, with the occasional poker straight sharp lash sticking out and it’s frustrating. The worst part is the expense because on discontinuing use, my lashes have begun to fall out and have gone right back to being short. The problem with these things is they’re clearly a forever investment. I’ve never been able to apply fake lashes and I couldn’t as of my glasses so I’m having to accept a significant financial loss (I’ve gone through a few tubes and the same happened with my brows) and the fact I am not naturally blessed in the hair dept 😂

    OMG! Thank you SO much for making this video. I thought it was just me and I was going mad! Mine have done exactly the same, I'm gutted, they are so bent back on themselves, I've even tried to straighten them out (using lash curler upside down or using a heated lash curler and brush them to straighten out) and even (very extreme) cut the curl out - it's awful!!!

    You are right- there will be folks that hate on you for this but hey good for you to be so blessed! I have thin sparse lashes and have used a serum for about 10 years. I end up having to trim certain lashes due to individual ones growing insanely long but others not so much. For those concerned with irises changing color, I have personally never had that and I have blue eyes. I primarily have used Revitalash but have used many others as well. Good luck all! Thanks as always Charlotte 😘

    • @lgempet2869
      @lgempet2869 Před 3 lety +2

      My experience has been the same as yours with lash-lengthening serums- NO issues really or iris color changes. I think Latisse had potentially been an offender of this but hadn’t heard of any non-prescription lash serums potentially causing this issue. The greatest challenge I have is, as a last step, remembering to apply a lash serum to my lashes every night.😊

    I too have naturally curly lashes. No eyelash curler. I've been using RevitaLash for over a year. The results are amazing, but I didn't start out with my lashes as long as yours. No side effects either, but they have been getting darker and thicker. I can see where it would bother you if the lashes got too curly.
    I'm currently trying the Dime Beauty serum, which don't contain the same chemicals. Only for the last few weeks, so I don't know if I'm getting the same results.

    Your lashes do look amazing - I thought it was down to your mascara routine! I've been using UK Lash and UK Brow for six months now and I'm delighted with both. I have naturally curly lashes, but they're short, and I like what they look like now although they are getting curlier as well. I'm pretty happy with my brow serum too, which as far as I can make out from the ingredients is the same one, only with a larger brush - I overplucked them in the 90s/00s, so I love what it does for them! I'm curious to see what the "weaning" process will be like! Thanks for your honesty, it's always appreciated!

    So I had the same experience. I too have naturally long lashes but thought I’d give grande lash a try. My lashes did get even longer but they started curling and growing in weird directions. It was so aggravating! Then my eyes started to get extremely dry, red and I had skin discoloration where I was placing the serum. Read about all the things that they could do to harm your eyes and I immediately stopped using it. Now my lashes are shorter less of them than before, and I’ve been off of it over a year and they never came back like previously.

    I have small lashes very straight. I've used Revitalash for a long time and they my lashes were definitely longer and fuller but they stayed straight. They refuse to hold the curl with a regular eyelash curler, so I have to use a heating curler and this changed my life. But I never apply it on my bare lashes, I put 1rst 1 coat of base coat, I curl them and apply after 1 coat of mascara. When I stopped Revitalash, quickly my lashes returned to their initial state.

    I started using Revitalash in 2014 and my eyelashes grew amazingly. I had been using for a couple of months and then my left eye began to swell. I ended up in hospital for 3 nights. My face was swollen and my eyes were not lined up horizontally. Drs thought I had either Orbital Cellulitis or it was related to a mosquito bite from a recent holiday. I did not connect it to Revitalash as I had had a break from it whilst abroad. Anyhow, I started reusing it and ended up at outpatients, connected it to Revitalash and Dr advised me not to use it. I am now left with a pucker of skin under my eye in the shape of lightning flash and folds of skin in my inner eye.

    I have had the same issue when I was using the GrandeLash serum. I hadn’t thought that being a curly haired person, that my lashes would become “unruly.” But they did. It was just easier for me to not wear mascara at all. And I found myself either not wearing makeup, or strategically placing individual lashes. Too much work. I know it’s anecdotal at best, but every curly haired person I know, who uses a lash/brow serum reaches a point where the targeted hairs get too long.

    Oh my day's I thought it was just me!!! I've been using UK lash since February, I've gone from short poker straight lashes to wild curly ones! First they were longer but not as dramatic as I hoped, but now their still straight at the inner corners, which is fine because at least I can curl them, but the outer corners are so curly! I can't straighten them out, so can no longer use my curlers as the curly ones either don't go in or even look worse. To add to these woes I've also been putting up with what I believe is called tea bag staining, which is really hard to cover up. I'm gonna quit using I think because I'm not happy with them, not what I hoped for at all, and more hard work than it's worth, also I find it's easier to create more length than trying to place them where they should be.. lesson learned the hard and expensive way

    I have average length lashes and use a different serum. Been thinking of stopping for the same reason, but not to the same degree as you. Along with overall good growth I also get a couple SUPER long lashes that I’ve dubbed the ‘freaky’ lashes that literally curl backwards bc they get so long. For the life of me I can’t get them to straighten out! I find I have to gently pick the mascara off just the tip of the freaky ones so my lashes look more uniform. Also, how funny, after watching this video I got an ad for revitalash! 😂

    Like you, I already had good long lashes that held a curl easily with mascara. But being greedy I decided to try a lash serum to see if I could get vavavoom lashes 😂 I’ve been using NYK1 serum which is a UK based company that doesn’t contain the prostaglandin ingredient. So far, so good. Ridiculously long, thick lashes so I think I’m going to drop down to once a day now to see what happens. Good luck with your journey, I’ll be watching with interest xx

    I have used Neulash, Revitalash and the Grande lash serums. I noticed with the revitalash my lashes were looking somewhat like yours then I switched to Grande lash and seems ok. However I do have very dry eyes not sure if it is from the serums. However my favourite is Neulash. Have one Rivitalash left and may just use it on my brows and see what happens. Will let you know. Thanks for doing this video.

    I used/use Rivita Lash, I started growing lashes in places I didn’t want them! I got them in the corners of my eyes and it constantly felt like something was in my eye. I also grew them on my water line, the lovely lashes it gave me didn’t outweigh those negatives. However, when I stopped I did get lots of gaps, so I now use it once a week or once a fortnight depending on how my lashes look. It’s much better when used like this for me personally. (I still have to pluck eyelashes out of the inside corners of my eyes which isn’t fun but they didn’t go away when I stopped 😑)

    I had seen a video recently of a technique where you brush your upper lashes inwards towards your nose with the mascara wand to give the effect of a larger eye shape. I thought perhaps that was what you were doing. Or you can brush them outwards towards the outer corner of your eye to give a cat eye effect. I've seen other CZcamsrs who have used serums say they have had problems with their lashes 'growing like weeds' and completely uncontrollable. Personally, I prefer to let my mascara do all the work for my lashes.

    Long curly lashes run in my family and everyone who has them (I do not) seems to find them a problem. My dad used to pull his out and my sister's went craaaaazy during her pregnancy and grew very much like yours.
    Perhaps there are salons that do a reverse lash perm, similar to getting head hair "relaxed"?

    this is definitely the « aha ! » moment - i have been wondering why your lashes looked different in the last month or 2, but thought it was your way of applying mascara. i didn’t understand why the curl had to face inwards but now it’s cleae that it wasn’t your intention ! i really hope they revert to their original state without too much (if any) side effects !
    when i was younger i always wanted long & straight lashes because i felt they would be way more visible than curled ones ! it still remains the least important factor for me in a mascara - length, definition & volume are way more important. take care charlotte !! 💗

Now I use UKLash. No prostaglandin, which I believe is the potential problem ingredient. The list of ingredients in UKLASH look very natural. Two weeks in and I think I can see some subtle changes

    I’ve been using Revitalash for about 2 months, and I’m just noticing a somewhat when I put mascara on, especially if I use lash primer before mascara. I never use eyelash curlers, because I heard years ago that they can pull out lashes and not good for them, especially with heat. Maybe you could use it once or twice a week and get the look you want, but if you are happy with your lashes without a serum, I wouldn’t use one. The serums have side effects and they’re expensive.

    I also always had amazing, long, naturally curled eye lashes. I then - out of interest - went ahead and used orphica realash and after about 2 months I also started to feel a little uncomfortable with the result. I then stopped and currently use a lash serum without any of those hormones (i.e. prostaglandine etc). it's one that contains a lot of lash caring ingredients like vitamine e, cbd and so on. I think that is what gives more health and strength to the lashes rather than that extensive true growth if you will. I'm quite happy with that now😊 good luck though for getting off revitalash 🍀😘

    I purchased Revitalash (£££ ouch) used it for a week and started seeing dry flaky skin where my eyes would naturally form tears at night, so I ditched it.Expensive mistake. So I just keep using Castor oil or Vaseline at night on the days I wear mascara and my lashes are pretty long naturally too. You can very very slightly trim the tips. I know this sounds crazy but I used to do it to prevent mascara smudging my glasses.
