I'm from the Netherlands and I'm really happy about the contract I have with my Internet/ TV provider. As a Dutchman living in the Netherlands I was able to watch this live on television. The Indy 500 is a very special race. It's big! It's unique!
Offcourse, I will support Veekay upcoming weekend and I hope Veekay will become the second Dutchman, ever to win the Indy 500. Arie is a Legend! I wish Veekay will become one aswell.

That’s not possible! Everyone knows that drivers who learned in competitive, front-engined, low-downforce cars can’t adapt to Indycar. Daddy has to buy rides in underpowered, rear-engined series to beat 15 or so other rich kids to give you the skills to drive an Indycar!

Yes he did. His first run would have been good enough to make the show, but he lost track of his laps and lifted as he started Lap 4. So he did one more run as safe a possible.

Spanish new fan over here. One question to you all experts, why they go in the middle on finish line after last turn? I thought it was better to stay right to the wall and not change line to gain time… thanks!
You get a better run coming down the corner, I think. The other possibility is that the car is set up so it wants to turn left so it's actually faster to drift down and follow the cars natural progression. My family argues about this every year, so I don't know the actual answer, but that's what we've concluded.
You might be right about that. Driving towards the left (from the perspective of the driver) and down from the banking in the turn may give you a little more speed. And then there is also the natural behavior of the car because of the fact that the left tires are slightly smaller. I do also think that there is the racing line, which is not optimal if your going straight close to the wall, and the more times cars have driven on a certain part of the track, the better that part of the track is. Not following the optimal racing line makes you slower. I'm not an expert myself, but I also think that there is less traction near the walls at the long straights, and I guess the amount of aerial resistance between the side of the car and the wall is lower (that might sound advantageous, because less resistance makes you faster, but the other side of the car doesn't have that lower amount of aerial resistance), getting the car out of balance if you're staying too close to the wall. But as I said, I'm no expert on this matter, so I don't know for sure and could be wrong.
I'd love to watch Verstappen at Indy but i can dream maybe when his older in 20 years or so.
He's not going to do that. At least he said he wouldn't have plans to do that in an interview he once gave on Dutch television.

Indycar website is quite a mess. Tried to look up some info.
They can go however many times they want within the timeframe which is everyone of them get a run +45 minutes. He just made a misstake and let off after 3 laps on his first go

@@codymoe4986 Speedway was owned by the Hulman family in 1982. And the series was run by CART then (though USAC sanctioned the Indy 500 itself). Penske was just a team at the time. As for the last question, I'd have to look that up.

Too bad Penske is on the front row. Abusing the rules, they don't deserve even a podium in the 2024 Indy 500. Whatever team beats Penske in 2024, hero status. Rules matter. I don't care who owns the series.

@@cbenci21 Penske has been know throughout their history to...shall we say, abuse the rules. Now that Roger Penske owns the series it is a very bad look when his team is caught breaking the rules. Even worse is when his own team "punishes" themselves to make things "right" and still get pole (I would have preferred Power to get Pole but thats just me) Was the pole lap amazing and special to see? Absolutely. Do I wish it was any other team, absolutely.
The whole Penske umbrella needs to be real careful with how they play things for now. I fear they are pressing too hard too soon after the controversy and this could easily blow up in their face.
Rules? You should quit your day job with material like that 😜
