Many years I also used to have that philosophy "Happy Wife, Happy Life". Later learned that's just a recipe for disaster. If you're truly happy and at peace within, then hopefully she'll be happy as well. Others' happiness is not dependent on you and your happiness does not depend on how someone else is feeling. If it does, that's co-dependency. Best to you and your family.
I have found new peace and strength by serving my wife and making life wonderful for her my top priority. She already did this for me. It's just taken me awhile to catch-up. By serving and loving each other and making each other's happiness our top priority, our marriage has been thriving.

I do agree with the incremental improvements in new cameras as times progresses. I’ve been seeing a lot of content where many photographers have realised that with the quality of cameras in the last 5 or more years, it’s even worthwhile to consider an older model camera (even if it’s just as a diversion) without giving up much, if any, photographic quality. Since most enthusiasts will share images online, it matters less if you have a 24mp, 36mp, 60mp or even a 16mp camera. Maybe you have a special use case for very high frame rate but a lot of us take just one photo at a time and we take time over getting that one frame right.
Faster, faster, faster, pixels, pixels, and more pixels aren’t going to make you a better photographer. In fact the opposite might help you photography. Slow it down to enjoy and work on your image making. I picked up a cheap Fuji X-E1 last year. It’s only got 16mp and it’s AF is clunky and it doesn’t have wifi or fancy features but gee it fun and captures nice image files. Pull the images up on my 4K 32 inch monitor beside those from my full frame Pentax K-1 (also an old camera now) or my newer Fuji, and it doesn’t really compete in the pixel peeping department, but for viewing online, nobody is going to see a difference. What people see is how well you created it. Not the camera. There have been few bad cameras in the last 5+yrs and unless you have a special or commercial use case, there’s no need to stay on the continuing upgrade treadmill.

hi mate, the name is easy to remember and catchy right. It covers the ethos going forward, and yes happy wife happy life. Clearly you have some stories to tell in your facial expressions and photography journeys. I've only been here since the FujiFilm days and your motorbike or trips into the red stone mountain place. I can only imagine it will grow with your humble attitude and passion. Your photography is always unique and i didn't know about the adopted thing. Have been watching your channel a bit since I switched to Fuji last Christmas. Followed the emotional roller coaster when you announced the old channel is over (and your losses), and very happy for you for the new start and new job. Thanks to you, I have started looking for urban decay photos in my area, too! Also on GFX. (Flickr has a group called 'xpaned', which is quite delightful.) Anyway, the main purpose of this message is to ask, given your love for mfd and macro, have you looked at Voigtlander's 35mm macro (1:2) APD? If you have never used Voigtlander, their lenses are manual, fantastic, produce superb sunstars. Many Leica users used their M-mount lenses as a cheaper alternative. I started using them with my Sony, and may restart my journey with them. They have more M-mount lenses than X-mount, so that's another path. Fuji actually has an official M to XF adapter (just discovered that myself)!

KEH is how I was able to get so many of the lenses I have now. Okay, that and the severance pay from my old job, but I was still incredibly happy to get my paws on most of the lenses I've wanted for years. I'll probably wind up using their services for those Olympus f1.2 lenses I've wanted for some time. (Although I will admit, I have waffled on the idea of the f1.2 Pro's due to their cost, and how what they offer for night photography could be acquired for just a touch more through a full frame camera)

In regard to equipment improvements, I'm mostly in agreement, with the exception of my latest purchase. I typically keep a camera a long time, (Minolta XG-M --> Minolta X-700 --> Nikon D70 -->Nikon D200 --> Fujifilm X-T3) But after only two years, I just bought a Fujifilm X-T5, There was absolutely nothing wrong with the X-T3. Its capabilities were way better than mine, and I loved using it. I just found as I approach my 70th birthday, my handheld images are not as steady as I'd like, so I made the jump to in-body image stabilization. This will probably be the last camera for a long time! (along with my X100V, which goes everywhere with me.)
Thanks for doing what you do. You and Matt Day here in Ohio are two of the most down-to-earth presenters I've seen. It is just comfortable watching, and even after almost 62 tears of being a mediocre photographer, I still learn things with every episode.
I would agree about having a stabilized sensor. My hands aren't the most stable either.

Small thing - personally I prefer "happy spouse, happy house". Relationships are partnerships, and everyone's happiness is valid and important :) (maybe I'm being pedantic, but it was a small but important shift for me and others I know).

well done on landing a new job. i got released from my job last may due to restructuring. its been tough, but the missus and i try to enjoy the good things about life. this graphic designer spent 36 years honing his craft only to have it taken away by an uncaring employer. keep up the good work, and perhaps in future videos you might do photo book reviews.
