It looked cool. But the story is missing. And it will continue to be missed…
I kind of disagree on the idea that there being no major character death this arc was a bad thing, it sets up the fact that *not every* fight will result in death, which makes moments in the future more suspenseful as it adds the tension of whether or not a character will die.
Often times the suspense is broken because you know a character won't die, but if you make every major hashira die every time they're in a fight then that will kill the tension in the exact opposite way.
I also believe that Tengen being a cripple is a more fitting end to him, as he now has to deal with the harsh consequences of marrying not 1, not 2, but *3* women.
I agree, having uncertainty certainly adds to the viewing experience!
Part of the reason nezuko is so strong despite never eating eating a human is because she was turned by muzan himself and he gave her a pretty good amount of his blood at that. This is shown because most of the uppermoons were turned by muzan ,or another uppermoon, as well and it took at least two or more demon slayers/ hashiras to take a single uppermoon down.
I thought so too, he pumped her hard, also her blood has already carried certain strength (spoilers)

@@skyden4637 She does get energy by sleeping but she's only been a demon for about 2 or 3 years and it took the uppermoons at least 10 years to become an STRONG uppermoons. So most of the power she has does come from muzan's blood.

Well I think that 1 day of sleep is = 1 human, she slept for 2 years which would be equal to 730 humans, which is a decent bit enough to be stronger than daki.
The best part is when everyone is knocked out and we the audience are tricked into thinking that Tanjiro is fleeing with his sister while he is actually executing a master plan to headbut, poison and decapitate a villain that has become to cocky and talkative. The fact that it almost works out but in the end fails SPECIFICALLY because of his injuries was also awesome.
That was a well played by Tanjiro for sure. Except that demons should have eaten the shit out of them by this point.
I am pretty sure that Uzui was extremely desperate to make sure his wives were safe he rushed a plan to rescue them. Also great video!

One of the reasons that Nezuko is so strong is because that she sleeps. A lot.
It is explained in the manga that Nezuko actually gets her power from the amount of time she sleeps, and from what we see in the show, Nezuko actually is sleeping almost 24/7.
She also received a pretty good amount of blood from Muzan because (spoilers ahead) he was trying to create demons that could withstand the sun. As time went on, Muzan was probably getting more and more desperate to find a way to overcome the sun, so he injected a pretty decent amount of blood into her.
This does explain things! Still, laws of thermodynamics have something to say about that)

I've also had my grievance with the arc in terms of plot armor. But it was more in the line of 'injures only hinder me momentarily and stamina regen is instant'.
For me sometimes it's a bit a problem that we get a lot of inner thoughts of Tanjiro. He's telling us how he feels, what he thinks and what he's planning. But at the same time that also means, I get to the point were I think: "Last episode you said you couldn't go on anymore after using that breathing technique. Now you're keeping up with a clashing kizuki and hashira again?" Even though Tanjiro unlocked some kind of power during his last strike, it was really stretching my suspension of disbelief that Tanjiro was able to behead someone, when his left hand was injured and bound to his sword and his right hand had two broken fingers (middle and index no less).
Apart from that, this entire fight was probably so far the best fight of 2022 - at the very least the best group battle(s) since Jujutsu Kaisen. I still very much enjoyed the entire arc for the points you named. Also for somehow managing to humanize the sibling menace that were Gyutaro and Ume at the end. They were awesome villans.
The fight was fire (literally), I just wish there was less plot armor
Honestly the Fight scenes looked badass as hell, but you bring up a point on how realisticaly, Hinatsuru should've died the moment Gyutaro caught her, like the bastard could've LITERALLY crushed her jaw like a grape at that moment, and I blame overconfidence on his and Daki's part for NOT killing off the heroes when they're still barely alive and in the oworst condition they could be at the moment. Zenitsu was crushed under a rooftop, Inosuke was barely moving, Tengen could've easily been decapitated after getting his arm sliced if Gyutaro wasn't so overconfident.
The Entertainment District was amazing imo. We really got see Zenitsu, Tanjiro and Nezuko pop off. The visuals were a masterpiece. Tengen and Gyutaros fight was also insane, I was laughing so hard when Inosuke came back.
Plot armor aside, I really enjoyed this arc
I think it ruined it for me. Entertainment district pushed my suspension of disbelief to the absolute limit. I enjoyed the hell out of it and got deep into all the emotions, but after that my suspension of disbelief exploded.

The "killing tanjiro" bit actually makes sense imo. Imagine Gyutaro starts eating Uzui, Tanjiro has a perfect chance to sneak attack and cut off his head.

1)He trained a lot.
2)Sun breathing which is the strongest of them all.
3)Tanjuro genetics and Tanjuro actually had godlike strenght.
4)He needed a mark to behead Gyutaro and at first couldn't even behead Daki(he almost did, but he ran out of stamina too soon lol),marks make you godlike strong.
5)A bit of plot armor I guess.
6)The manga wasn't supposed to be as long as one piece so he has to mature and get stronger fast arc by arc, it would be lame if the manga ended up with tanjiro being just a regular demon slayer with regular strenght progress. Just imagine the last arc where tanjiro isn't able to fight or do anything, lmao. Usually at the end of a shonen the protagonist becomes the strongest one alive, we don't see tanjiro even getting near that as he can only beat upper moons up to akaza.
That is very impressive, but all he could do was only hold up for a while against severely weakened Muzan(Which is still a very impressive feat) and nothing more.Someone like Gyomei could've done as good as tanjiro there, so tanjiro is not overpowered by no means.
The scene that inoskue dislocated his joints to gp down a mole hole that only his head can fit throw Fact this is realistic an escape artist in japan while world war 2 was happenining

Lady Tamayo should have appeared at the end of the arc tending to the Slayers and chatting with the two Hashiras granted, the conversations would be tense but that would lead to the Slayers asking the Master a bit of questions regarding her. It would also have been nice seeing Tanjiro and Nezuko reunited with her.
That would have been very interesting. Yushiro and Obanai could have had a very fun/brutal interaction.
@@mahistv so true, Tamayo would have been shocked to learn that a two in one demon manage to be created, I love this series but moments like this is why I am saddened that the creator rushed the series. Tamayo is a centuries old repository of medicine and demon knowledge which is understandable why she avoided the Slayers for so long and should have had a minor role at the end of Season 2 and then be brought back in during the Hashira Trauning Arc like the Manga did (yes I know she also made a cameo duting the end of the Swordssmith Village arc but that was more to let readers know what the cat was trying to deliver to Tanjiro).
Daki and gyotaro had BUILT IN immortality and they still screwed it up

Tanjiro snuck up on dakis brothers because he was still slowed and nezukos new form is just her ageing+the demon blood the real BS is that tanjiro looks basically the same after like 3 years because it was 1-2 years in the mountain training then another year for the exam then like 6months to a year from the demon slayer test untill now tanjiro does not age

Totally agree. I get there's a reason that Nezuko is pretty strong but the way they showed it made it feel like an extreme ass pull. And somehow Tamioka didn't realize she was this strong when she first transformed so they way they handled nezuko sucks pretty much over all cuz no one can make a good heroine in anime nowadays
I miss Winry... ok, to be honest, RWBY probably has the best female lead cast at the moment. Their character arcs, especially Wiesses, are quite well made.

Aight, now me personally, I think Gyutaro wouldn’t be someone to get “greedy” or even get cocky. Cause, he was neglected by everyone, never had a love interest, and his only purpose as a demon was to protect someone else. If he was “greedy”, he could have taken Uzui’s wives at any time when they were found out, not even leaving them for Daki. If he got cocky, the fight would have ended much sooner.
Also, when they became demons, they could have just… left the entertainment district. But then again, being sex workers was the only thing they knew how to do, so…

I wouldn't say that this arc has plot armour. So first of all, all the characters sent to the missios have a really good durability which explains why zenitsu wanst killed. And the reason inosuke wasn't killed is because he has a unique ability so he wasnt stabbed in the heart ( inosukes power not strength ). Tengen used his battle iq to survive, and tanjiro achieved all the requirements for the mark so it only makes sense that he got it. Now the reason why they didn't eat the trio and tengen is because they wanted to turn tanjrio into a demon. Thay is also their job . If you actually think about it all that small talk was to firstly mock tanjiro and secondly to turn him into a demon. If he had denied and didnt have a back up plan, then he would have been killed and devoured. Only plot armour was obanai being late.
I disagree with the recruiting part. Gyotaro saying that was a part of mocking. Unlike Akaza who wants a sparring partner and genuinely doesn't want Rengokus abilities to go to waste, barely any demon cares about recruiting. It's not in their interest because they might get replaced and "demoted". We have seen how Muzan handles those who are of no use to him. Doma got two of them in because he knew they'd agree (they had no choice really) and whey will be of use with all the hate they already have for humans. Converting any of our four slayers is impossible, I don't think Gyotaro is stupid enough not to understand that. They should have been all turned into a donut and eaten

4:00 - I always assumed Uzui's wives were constantly fighting because Uzui doesn't love them equally. Like he obviously favors Hinatsuru, which leaves Makio and Suma upset and they lash out at each other. Ex: the scene at the Uzui family grave where Uzui gives just Hinatsuru a flower and not the other two, even making fun of them for wanting his attention.
8:40 - I don't really like the idea that a demon stays a child/the age they transformed forever. It doesn't make much sense because obviously the demons gain more life experience and battle experience as they age. Also it feels misogynistic because demon slayer fans only apply this logic to Daki, and no other demon (no one calls Rui childish or the Hand demon from Final Selection childish). It very much plays into the anime fetish of having a child-looking wiafu that's actually 300 years old, or having a grown woman-looking waifu that's actually 13. Its creepy.
Daki is highly HIGHLY sexualized her entire appearance in the anime so it's weird that fans try to bend over backwards to insist this grown woman is really a sexy 13 year old.
I don't think there is unequal love there.
As for childish, Rui was very much like that, just in a different context. Also no shit Daki is sexuilized, that's in her job description.

To be fair, Gotouge is also to blame because she very much implies Daki is a child to play into the anime fan service. Like even when Daki dies and their souls return to the afterlife, Gyutaro is an adult man and Daki is her child self. Which doesn't make sense; they should either both be young kids or both be adult demons.

I think the reason why Muzan gave Nezuko so much blood is because he knew Nezuko had to take on a sun breather (i.e. Tanjiro) and from Muzans experience with Yoriichi he wanted to be careful. So Nezuko has probably the power of Upper Moon 3 or 4. But because of Urokodaki’s spell thingy she was suppressed until Tanjiro was in so much danger he was about to be clapped by Daki.
On top of that, she in Tanjiros party all the time, so she is getting passive EXP and leveling up.

Of course the anime showed her off more than the manga did, but honestly it just felt like she got older physically, so it kinda just made sense that her clothes wouldn't really cover her as much since yk, she got bigger. Ofc if we're talking about minors who were sexualized then ofc Daki is the first answer, but as you said yourself being a prostitute was kinda her best hope so having a sexualized vibe could be very intentional.
