Still loving these tips. As a guy who was off a board for 12 years, and is getting back at it at 49, I really appreciate your whole presentation. Taking it slow, giving updates as you work towards the goal, it's brilliant.
This particular video has the part where you showed the slow motion clip at in the corner, love that!
Many thanks for tuning in dude !!
Thanks for the video. I’m getting into frontside this year and am just getting the hang on a small ramp, it’s scary to start with!
I'm and old time skater (80s 90s )who has recently started skating again after a nearly 30 year gap . It's great to see another middle aged bloke giving it ago . Top work pal and keep the vids coming .
Rsmreef thanks for tuning in, yes more vids to come hopefully. It’s been raining everyday I have off lately so fingers crossed for some dry days soon !!
Well, I'm two years behind, but I want you to know how much these are helping me. This is my next trick I'll be learning. Keep on skating! Cheers Jon!
Just back from a battle Was getting on front side 50-50, but hanging up every time I dropped back in. (paused to watch this) and landed it within a few tries. Thanks JB!!
Great work dude, my Fakie F/S axle stall video has more detail for coming back in if you fancy a peak?

@@JonBishopSkate Thanks Jon. The heal pressure sounded like it really helped with avoiding the hang ups. Will have another crack today.
I can do backside axle stalls, but front side seems so scary to kind of call back into the ramp. Thanks for the vid, I'll see if I can work up that courage to try it this weekend.
more power John great vid
Seriously love your videos they help me a ton
Many thanks for tuning in!
Just getting to grips with this one myself, as always searched for your videos to get some tips good stuff Jon thanks
Nice one dude! I’ve recorded a couple more front side axle Vids since this which have much better information. I got them much better with a proper lock in after recording the first vid.
I find the Fakie F/S axle the easiest?!

Yes Jon! I'm going to copy that at that location asap. Biggest obstacle will be finding a time when there's no scooter grooms hooning across the flat bottom below. Yeew😀
Hi Mark
Yes, there is some better information on the re entry in my follow up videos. czcams.com/video/xYmpzP8zMsQ/video.html
Definitely a scary one for hang-ups. Nice vid. 👍
R3trofest yeah! That was my biggest worry. I’ve Managed a few hang ups with the standard backside version even when having the wheel in the right place somehow, but it seemed easier frontside? There is one or two in here that I bring in without the back wheel on the coping and it still worked? I think taking to bigger ramps will tell the true story lol! Thanks for tuning in !!
Super helpful thanks mate!
This video has much better info on the correct lock in and re-entry if you fancy a peak ?!

Nice tutorial man! Great little ramp to practice on that one. Must get down to Newquay this summer!
Joshua Flippence hell yeah, imagine what mischief you could put together on that ramp?!!

Such a stylish trick! Front side is so sketchy for me tho!
Sam's Choice thanks for tuning in. yeah, pretty scary even on a small ramp with pads for me?? Gonna keep practicing until it feels more natural, it feels pretty good when it all goes right though!!
Looking good bish..Axel stalls are high on my to do list but gonna try backside first
Mark Rivers yeah dude, backside first I recon, but who knows? You may find the frontside easier?? It’s a two stage trick so you can concentrate on getting the stall first, then think about the re-entry and then put it together! You can see how hopeless my first attempts are, but the confidence quickly builds !!
Hey man just a little advice, if you do fs axle stalls like that on a steeper transition you have to fully get your board over the coping so that your heel side wheels are locked in fully over the deck. It’s different to backside as with bs you can have your toe side wheels hanging off the edge and not have the board fully on the deck, you just press on your heels. Better to learn them the correct way to begin with to avoid bad habits! Watch Chad Carusos channel he goes into more depth!
Great vids tho super inspiring!
sharki11 many thanks.
Yes, I totally agree having tried them on bigger ramps.
I did find that it didn’t matter as much if the wheel wasn’t hooked over on this ramp and on my best ones here it’s across. I usually film and reflect on my first session and then do a follow up vid when I’m further down the road. It’s great when guys offer advice as it really helps, I usually come at these things with a bare outline of what the trick is, and then find and report on the inner workings as I go. However sometimes I stumble across an idea which isn’t the best in the long run. Best Jon
Quick question. With the front side axle stall, coming back in do you need to move your back wheel over the coping like you would with a backside axle stall?
I keep my back heelside wheel up against the coping. This is quite an old video. The correct technique is in this video. czcams.com/video/jjQezXiQOB0/video.html
@@JonBishopSkate hey man thanks for the reply!
Show Very
How often do you skate?
Hey dude, I like to do something everyday, my legs demand a day off now and then, otherwise I just push through the lactic acid 😂
@@JonBishopSkate I really understand that. My wife has me on all kinds of vitamins to try to counter that, lol stretching is key for me
For some reason I'm way more comfortable doing front side axels than backside axels
Yeah, I find the frontside axle technique easier, but generally more scary ?!
@@JonBishopSkate for me I'm more scared of backside axels 😅
