That's a really ignorant statement. She provides sanctuary to tigers bred in captivity who cannot be released in the wild, while simultaneously actively trying to stop breeding tigers in captivity. Her tigers are reduced from awful conditions, where they are bred for their cubs for petting who are then either killed or sold, or kept as pets in tiny cages. It's beyond inhumane and I respect her for trying to put an end to it.

I don’t understand how people concede that the tigers in the American exotic zoo industry were clearly abused and then simultaneously get mad that Carole puts an end to it. She doesn’t allow people to play with tigers, she’s never been in danger of having her animals confiscated, and her animals actually have more space to roam than the zoo tigers (they only showed the feeding cages, not the full enclosures, in Tiger King season 1).

Zoos breed and import animals for profit. She rescues tigers from terrible conditions, and uses the revenue from the sanctuary to fund efforts to end breeding tigers in captivity.

I had no idea about this show but have been to the big cat rescue in Tampa. Cheapest ticket was $40. Not a very well run place.

Her zoo is not great, at all. Captive animals like big cats need lots of room to move. Neither zoo is good for the animals. But the Oklahoma zoo is worse because there are way too many animals in way too small a space. Joe Exotic created those horrible conditions When he was running things, the place stayed alive thanks to breeding more and more cats in order to have a never-ending supply of cubs for people to be photographed with.
I don't know why people are so enamored. When I saw them feeding animals with expired goods from grocery stores, it blew my mind.
One is a rescue operation (Carole) that takes in discarded animals with no where else to go and rescues of them (Many of them cubs bred and discarded by people like joe). Joe’s zoo actively breeds new tigers for profit, including cubs. One solves the problem and the other creates it.

I am an intern at big cat rescue, and we maintain those cages almost every day. It takes multiple people, multiple hours, and multiple days just to rake, weed whack, and maintain enclosure roofs and dens. The cages are HUGE. Everything you saw in tiger king was a lie, and it is a shame that you actually believe it

My friends asked me last week if I've ever seen the Tiger King show, and I told them I hadn't, so they put on episode #1 and a few minutes in I realized that the random magician guy I met at the mall years ago when I was little was Joe Exotic. Now I'm binge watching all these videos.

Whatever she has done, and yes, it's possible she murdered her husband although there are accounts that he is alive and well in Costa Rica, this woman cares about the animals that the men in the documentaries did not. Had ANY of these men treated these big cats decently, there would not be any documentaries.

I believe the REAL reason that Carole is getting negative feedback is that she seem the same as Jeff and Joe with being so narcissistic. At least during the first season she laughs at not knowing anyones name unless they been working her you for years, not including that they all work for free. I've been to her park before and there were small enclocers unlike what we saw in Colorado at the end of tiger king season two. Every one is forgetting that this is about the safely of the cats! At least keep the criticism about Carole and the other fair and not white wash. Carole is currently making money threw Big Cat Rescue like like any other non profit.

Let's be 100% honest, she does have a sound goal. Tigers are NOT native to North America. No one other than select zoo's should showcase them and no one should own more than two at most. I agree there needs to be sanctuaries for these animals but they should be in the animals own natural environments. All it would take would be one psycho with some wire snips to turn Carole's property into a buffet for big cats. If she wants to continue her work it should include her being forced to set up new sanctuaries in each animals own natural environments (North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Siberia.) The goal should be to rehabilitate and reestablish wild characteristics in the animals with the end goal to introduce into/back into the wild. Carole has to have over a hundred big cats in close proximity in her care. Is she collecting animals for the since of power and ownership or is she some who actually cares about reestablishing a healthy number of big cats in the wild?
