    I took one of his workshops as a fashion faculty at Parsons and I couldn't get over his spirit and energy: not only were we working with heart motifs in so many of the designs but we were definitely working with heart as well- and that lesson was the most valuable, in addition to all of the technical magic. To me , it reminded me of what's possible when a designer takes the time to explore all on their own and develop their own techniques...... I can't tell you how inspired and I am and was by learning from Shingo Sato.

    Amazing how he can think on the flat pattern. These are art pieces, for sure! I still believe that most of these pieces will be 'one of a kind'. The manipulation of the draping on the flat, with always be an interpretaton of the one doing the draping. Bravo, Shingo Sato!

    No doubt, interesting techniques. However, I was wondering how this would transfer to pattern grading or is this for custom made only?

    • @XKnighte
      @XKnighte Před 9 lety +2

      I was thinking the exact same thing. Or even for mass production of these patterns. This would be more for custom made clothing. I couldn't imagine figuring out Cardinal points for these patterns. Lol

    • @Writeoscar
      @Writeoscar Před 9 lety

      *****, true, but from the ttheory of pattern grading, do you know that it is all the same when grading smaller and bigger sizes given the increment that is used.

    • @Writeoscar
      @Writeoscar Před 9 lety +1

      ***** haha, I would be confused aalso if having to grade such a complicated pattern. I guess making one for each size would increase price tremendously

    Hey DESIGNERS who cant sew! It seems amazing and so easy, BUT what about keeping grainline and patterns and thinking about fabric usage?! THESE are very very important questions in fashion industry. With ONE piece pattern its impossible to solve these problems. Lot of your fabric will be useless. So its not so great.
