we just started doing this at my school. And I gotta say: THANK YOU CZcams! Without you, I would never get stuff like this!
I took one of his workshops as a fashion faculty at Parsons and I couldn't get over his spirit and energy: not only were we working with heart motifs in so many of the designs but we were definitely working with heart as well- and that lesson was the most valuable, in addition to all of the technical magic. To me , it reminded me of what's possible when a designer takes the time to explore all on their own and develop their own techniques...... I can't tell you how inspired and I am and was by learning from Shingo Sato.
Magnificent. And such a gentle giant of a teacher. A joy to behold.
This has got to be the greatest pattern making video I have ever seen and I have seen a lot! Thank you for sharing!
cindih1956 I agree... it's amazing
I've seen some of your work on the runways and it is just a spectacular as you're teaching seminars
Awesome awesome awesome !!!!! I just don't understand how could the classroom be so quiet , I'm amazed
Mr Sato is so unassuming like all true geniuses. Thank you.
He's so generous by sharing his knowledge with the students. A great and creative professional.
Divinely!
Brilliantly!
Sumptuously
Bravo, genius Mr. Sato-san!
ありがとう、先生
That spiral sleeve.... omg!! Amazing work. 👏🏼💖
thank you so much for uploading this!!! Mr. Sato is such a genius♡
Experience over 9000
Amazing how he can think on the flat pattern. These are art pieces, for sure! I still believe that most of these pieces will be 'one of a kind'. The manipulation of the draping on the flat, with always be an interpretaton of the one doing the draping. Bravo, Shingo Sato!
I agree completely. He is able to visualize in mutiple dimensions simultaneously. State of the Art technique and design.
This is amazing! Please upload more workshops like this :)
best video on the internet! Thank you!

I am here and just in awe of the wealth of information I am being exposed to for free. Thank you 🙏
I didn't know WHERE this was going as he hardly spoke and understandably so as I'm aware English isn't his first language and then when it got to the end i was just in Awe!

Спасибо огромное ,это невероятно увлекательно!!!
These are some of the professors maybe that's why, I recognized my sewing teacher. They were familiar with the technique even though that it is amazing, maybe they are more concerned with how they can I implement this into their classes?
Amazing
Fabulous
Thank you for sharing! This is good video. Richpeace CAD software can make patterns and grades.
How would you make it for mass production? 4 pattern pieces?
ابداع معلم رائع وتعليم بسيط وممتع 😍

vivian gao
Interested to learning
very nice .
Can anyone point me into the right direction to become familiar with his technique?
what do you call this when making different shapes in bodice sewing in sheer what is the name of this techinque
it don't get flat after ironing,??
I think when you know how to drape the basic pattern on the mannequin you can fallow his technique so easily
if you make clothing the mannequin you buy have to be your size please tell me
Does anyone know what type of muslin is used? It doesn't appear to fray and is very supple. Very nice.
Kim Bankston - probably very late response, but I'm guessing its calico.
I need information a cours ford Chile . Please😢
No doubt, interesting techniques. However, I was wondering how this would transfer to pattern grading or is this for custom made only?
I was thinking the exact same thing. Or even for mass production of these patterns. This would be more for custom made clothing. I couldn't imagine figuring out Cardinal points for these patterns. Lol
*****, true, but from the ttheory of pattern grading, do you know that it is all the same when grading smaller and bigger sizes given the increment that is used.
***** haha, I would be confused aalso if having to grade such a complicated pattern. I guess making one for each size would increase price tremendously
Woah man minute 5:04.. it's a video of a video
❤❤❤
شكرا
Por favor en español,,,, me e canta
where is your address
Can't help wondering at the reaction or non-reaction of the audience (students?)
Are they seeing the same thing as me???
I assume they were so in awe of the talent being displayed they didn't want to interrupt the flow of such ingenious demonstrations.
The audience are actually the school professors. Ive had class with a few of them. They had to pay attention as much as possible so they could pick something to teach us.
@@kyndallminley-marshall5702 I know I'm four years late and I'm guessing you've graduated already lol but I wanted to know from someone who attended Parsons and the Fashion Design field, is it really worth going here? Because they are kind of expensive 😫even though I'll be on FA. I'm currently in a university in the fashion design and merchandising program.
What if the darts don’t match with each other

how many pattern pieces? Always One 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey DESIGNERS who cant sew! It seems amazing and so easy, BUT what about keeping grainline and patterns and thinking about fabric usage?! THESE are very very important questions in fashion industry. With ONE piece pattern its impossible to solve these problems. Lot of your fabric will be useless. So its not so great.
