Just looked at the motor of our 1992 Henry and despite plenty of dust in the motor housing the bearing and commutator were just fine. Also the brushes were only about 30% worn so at this rate it could last another 90 years!
numaticrule29 yeah it should But it is a ex builders vac and if I'm honest 8 times out of 10 I don't use bags in numatic ... never really have ( only use bags in new or rare machines ) or ones I really care for ... if this 1 had the original tools I would have looked after it
But still, if your using it inside with all that shit going through it, it would work much better and last longer with a bag, there not that expensive and would save you money in the long run. I have an old numatic nv250, battered to shit and I use that for cleaning out vacuums, I use it with a bag and it still has full suction at 29 years old
numaticrule29 yeah tbh I have no excuse haha .... I had a nv250 ... loved it ... can't remember how old it was tho ... that blue henry in the video is from 1994 .. that normally has a bag in but I don't think it does at the moment
Numatic Collector yea I've got to try and do that to a twin flo motor from my old Henry hound that is making a poping noise .. the carbon brushes and worn down to the springs
Numatic Collector yeah I'm not sure pretty sure the henry hound motor has had it unfortunately ... I'm not going to buy a new motor for it tho as I could replace the machine for the same cost of £50

NilfiskGuyDK vvgg
Ive had a few like that, right pain in the arse to clean.
I do have some Henry buckets but they’re for Another Henry
It would have been nice to see how the brushes were removed and not just how to clean out with a paint brush
I'm suprised that uds motor still works after all that shit has gone through it
numaticrule29 yeah same here .. was used for work for a few years .. I belive it got used without a filter once by a work colleague
Tbh with you, it should have a bag in it,

Theres always shit tons of uds henries on ebay, you can get bits for that one easily.
Numatic Collector yea luckily my mate has 1 we wants me to service ...but by what he has explained I think it has burnt out
Tom Harney Even them blown ones can be saved if not too far gone.Youll need wet and dry paper with new brushes

Dont think the trick will work if the brushes have eaten into the commutator.
