Welcome back, Constant Reader... Tonight we return to Jerusalem's Lot and continue telling the cursed history of the Boone family. Let's delve into the Lovecraftian horror that awaits us within the walls of Chapelwaite Manor.
"Jerusalem's Lot" is a short story by Stephen King featured in his collection NIGHT SHIFT. - Zábava
Salems Lot will always be my favorite Steven King book.
Mine too! It was my first introduction to Mr King when I was in my early 20’s. I’m in my 60’s now and have been a lifetime fan. ❤🇨🇦
I second that.
Me too I think. With IT and green mile/Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank redemption honourable mentions. His short story catalogue is very impressive too tbh
Same here, it was the first Stephen King book I ever read, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Me too and three
Best and scariest vampire book ever!❤❤❤
really knowing the ancient history of the lot and his Lovecraft connections is that i am really enjoying reading again the book.
What should have happened is this.Insted made a series about Hubie Marston. Series ending with Hubie Marston burning the letters to Barlow.
just found you tonight. just wow ,love your work, ideas. SALEMS LOT love both book and 1979 movie.thank you for the hard work you are doing.
Jerusalem’s lot is a terrific short story and this was a great video
Thanks so much! I love how much detail King packs into a story -- even a short one like this!
The movie Chapelwait was great
The first Stephen King story I ever listened to on audiobook. I've been a Stephen King fan ever since
I love listening to his novels on my way to work!
Hoping we see the new Salem’s Lot movie even though all signs point to it being bad
I can’t wait! 🤗
Awesome video as always 🖤
Thanks, Constant Reader!
I agree. As formative as the novel is I still take a trip to The Lot from time to time.
It's a couple of decades since I read Salem's Lot, I'm going to have to dig it out and re-read it.
Loved this so much! The narration is awesome and the images are also beautiful 😍
Thank you so much!
Love this😂
Guess I'll watch the series for my October horror fest this year. In honor of my mom. She introduced me to Stephen King novels😂😢😮😅
This will be good 😊❤
I hope so!
Yes!
Great story telling again, and, wow, that first illustration was so creepy, and it fit Stephen King's description perfectly. All of the illustrations were great, and it's so nice to put a face (although imaginary) to the descriptions! Loved it!
I'm so glad I read these in the late 80s early 90s. Because if I had discovered them now like I have with your channel, I probably just be listening to you. You do a fantastic job with these.
That's high praise indeed -- but of course, I'm hoping people will read the stories first and then come visit the Book Club!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 LOL, about a half hour after I posted that I thought almost the same thing! Obviously the source material is the best but you just did a very very good job of getting it across without just reading the text ♥️
On October 2nd, 1971 James Robert Boone took uo residence in his ancesterial home of Chapelwaite.
4:13 He looks like a cross between Benedict Cumberbatch and David Tennant.
I was just thinking that! David could be a great Charles!
Incredible story! Wonderful pictures!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 I'm a huge King fan from wayyyyy back.
Brilliant! Thank you
Imagine watching Salem's lot in an old farm house. That has convenient multi compac doored minne closets in the second floor .creeped me out
Agree
Really good!
Late 17th century. I believe you mean Robert’s adult son. Randolph and his wife had three kids 2 girls one boy before she died.
Thank you for this bc there were always parts of jersusalems lot I never understood.
You're very welcome :)
Awesome. Subbed. Sent to my spouse as well - he’ll love this too.
Awesome! Thank you!
read the novel and the movie as a teen spooked the s out of me - love this lore well done thank you
You should do a back story on the Marsten house.
Is this related to the Chapelwaithe series?
The original story is "Jerusalem's Lot" (featured in his collection NIGHT SHIFT)... and the story inspired Chapelwaite -- the TV series.
Yes
I love how buddy almost always ends the episodes on a booty clencher 😂😂😂
LOL!
Excellent. Love it. Just a tiny correction? Its DE VERMIS MYSTERIS not De Dermis MYSTERIS .
I've already seen this! Thought it was new.
This is part two of the Jerusalem’s Lot history :)
Ok, thank you!
Charles looks like one of the Dr. Who's.
Where did you get that the last Boone "didn't stay long?". He had just moved in when the short story ended. Where is any more written about him? Honestly asking.
That's a great question... because there's nothing in the text that overtly indicates that he won't "stay long" (or won't survive). I was going with the connotation that some curse will do away with him... But I was also thinking of the events in Salem's Lot that happen in the 70s... So if Chapelwaite's portal to hell doesn't get the new Boone, the vampires surely will!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 Yeah, common sense told me that. But I was thinking you meant that something more detailed was written about him in a different story that I had either forgotten or missed. I'm glad I hadn't forgotten anything, but just a little sad there's nothing I haven't read about the story before. lol
Charles Boone looks alot like David Tennant.
Is this to be a new book?
I've read "Salem's Lot" twice.
Charles’ brain fever saw a great big worm.
"Whats up Big Perm...I mean Big Worm?"
Its Vermis (worm) not Dermis (skin), lol..
