  • What is in the box model kit comparison. Looking at two I Love Kits produced one year apart.

Funny thing is, that figure is more suited for the early non Korean war version on account of his uniform. "Tank" jackets and gaiters were seldom worn by tank crew in Korea. So basically, the guy is in the wrong box.

the Korean version should have torsion bars added to the engine deck hatches to make them easier to open , that should be about the only difference . they both look good . enjoy them

I'm guessing that the "Easy Eight" is the WWII version and the E-8 late is the Korean War version. I did some looking and it seems that they used both sprockets for any set of tracks, just like anything in wartime use whatever is serviceable and at hand, or it could even be whatever factory they came out of.

8:20 Are you saying "photo X sets" or "photo ets sets"? I always wondered the point of these thin gold metal parts. It would be easier and cheaper to make them plastic. Are they meant to be displayed as gold or should they be painted?

Photo etch. They add lots of extra detail. And yes, they need to be painted. I typically use very fine sandpaper to lightly rough up the photo etch sheet on both sides before I use the parts so they will accept paint better.

eBay, google search for best price. These kits are $150 on up depending on where you get it from. Andys Hobby Headquarters has similar versions for much cheaper with greater detail.
