Two Birthday Waltzes for Solo Piano (2022 - 23)

These are two little waltzes I wrote for the birthdays of two of my great friends.
These are some of my oldest (probably) finished compositions I'm still generally happy with.
Both in simple ABA form, they show off some fun harmonies that at the time I probably didn't even know how to explain.
In retrospect, I particularly like my weird uses of dissonance, such as in the first waltz where the B natural of the melody clashes with the Bb of the bass. Surprisingly out there, but the wide spacing lowers the potency of the dissonance.
