@@Marksman5147 caleb is a lot better now. Saw them during the aggressive tour and he sounded awesome, then saw them right after disease came out and he sounded a ton better. Idk if back then he smoked cigarettes or something but he sucked the first time I saw them when disgusting came out.
I just hate how Caleb doesn't do half of his vocals live, seems like he's always out of breath. You'd think that after being a vocalist for several years he'd get his act together.
***** It's cause he's out of shape, he was overweight and out of shape while in Attack Attack, then when he became the vocalist he got his shit together and then the bigger Beartooth got he started to lose his grip again.
I do remember him being better live during the self-titled Attack Attack days, at least he looked like he cared back then. In the latter days of Attack Attack he just seemed like he didn't care live, and nowadays in Beartooth he kind half asses it. I guess he just prefers writing and recording music to actually performing it.
Nate Webb ***** and on top of that, this is a pretty difficult and intense vocal style to pull off day in and day out.
I know a lot of people claim they could do better, but I really could do better than Caleb, at least with the screams. It's just odd to see somebody so young be so tired looking all the time. Caleb's like two months younger than I am, but looks way older.
***** doesn't do half of his vocals live? He did fine, great in my opinion. Touring a lot takes a toll on your body but I will agree that he's out of shape again that's why he's having some troubles.

Their live performances have got nothing but better, I saw them last year with Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies and they sounded amazing

That mic was cupped so hard jesus. Just ruins it. The sound guys must have been going apeshit. I know it looks cool, and it can actually be useful as a filter for vocal parts but please stop cupping the mic.

Also it filtered his voice so it was actually on the same range as the guitars. You can hear the aggressive notches in the EQ, almost like a very slow flanger effect. Also note the backup vocals, even though a bit quieter, are much clearer and much more pleasant to the ear.

My aunt works for this band and Caleb used to be a heavy smoker, he is usually out of breath which does hinder his live vocals but I know the entire band personally and they put all their heart and energy into their music/shows. They are a wonderful band and have been getting better and better live and it makes me happy to be able to follow their journey, as I have been on tour with them.
+Emily Papp Excuse me, but I don't think that's an excuse. I mean, they even have singback? Don't get me wrong, I love their songs. But the vocalists doesn't cut it live. EVEN if he's out of breath, he should be able to hold tone somewhat. The screaming isn't the most upsetting parts, it's the cleans.

Emily Papp Always the same argument. "duh do it yourself". I never said I could, and I will tell you right now, I probably couldn't. However, I am a singer. I do know that breath is very important, but it seems as if he hasn't even learned breathing technique well. Second, holding tone on a fairly simple clean vocal is something a lead singer in a band such as beartooth should be able to do, regardless. I'm very sure he can learn and get better, but right now - just admit it yourself, it sounds like crap.

If I was the lead screamer, and I'm not, but if I was, I'd rather sound great and know I'm fucking cool cause I'm in a kick-ass band, than sound not so good, and look cool on stage.

The Thing is, and I speak from Experience as a gign Vocalist. If you don‘t have a cool Stage presence, your Show isn‘t Seen as that Great and also you just get hypted up so much, that you Just want to move
the live show is better than blessthefalls live ones but blessthefall has better music than them in my opinion

Like their songs but what kind of bullshit was this? When I go to a concert I want to see the artists sing live not sing myself. Why have concerts if you're just going to hold the mic up to the crowd and expect them to sing more than half of the entire song for you.
Acurici He doesnt do that anymore, but they do that as more of a way to be inclusive. To let you be a part of the music.
