Great reaction. I’m comfortable saying that because that’s how I’ve been greeted throughout my life rapping. (By black people) That’s what I was called in prison (by black people). That’s what I’m still greeted today by the guys I grew up rapping with and did time with. That’s not the N word bro. Much love

This has to be talked about.. the media and celebs do nothing but split everything up by race, politics, and religion and this is something that has been going on forever. Racism is f’ing racism regardless of your color.. most rap fans are white and have grown up listening to the N word being shouted over and over.. to most of us it doesn’t even mean what it used to mean.. now, it just means “my boy”, etc. all my black friends call me that all the time..

Haha call yourself Caucasian. There people in USAwho consider someone who is Mediterranean such as Israel, Spain, Italy, Greece and so forth as not white. People don't understand why pokes come in different shades just like every other race. So I use the term Caucasian when I speak about "white" folks.Believe it or not there are literally people in the USA that don't believe someone from Spain or Portugal or Italy are Caucasian -"White." sounds like no big deal but Caucasian is the best way I can see for the future to describe the race when need be. I would love to throw it all out the window.fact is there's always going to be racism and there's always going to be prejudice. Example -ever heard of colorism? I am Part black -African American. I remember one of the earliest memories I had as a teenager and it's bizarre. Sometime never forget is when of black guy told me to watch out for the dark brothers because they're sneaky and thieves. There's definitely prejudiced just within the black community.my point is we can get rid of a lot of this BS prejudice and racism but it's not going to disappear completely. That's my Outlook. Do you really believe that we can get rid of prejudice and racism within the USA? The reason I mentioned the story about colorism in the black community was to give you a heads-up in case you did not know. I don't know what you look like because I don't even look at the icons or thumbs.I would say that if you believe there is a future with zero racism and zero colorism then you're not thinking clearly with true respect. If all the races come together and there's an admixture or an outcome looks very similar concerning skin tone, that just means people will start pointing out nose shape or hair texture and it continues on. All we can do is try our best.sorry it's so damn long but I didn't even type I use speech-to-text because I'm a young buck in college and this hits me!!!!! PEACE

Racism is racism. Words used to denigrate another person based on the color of their skin is bad. Period. To say that one is worse than the other plays into the idea that racism against a certain group of people is fine but racism against another group of people is unacceptable. Given the fact that you typically call out all racism when you find it I’m a little surprised by this reaction. Not to mention, despite your talk about the word being divisive and removing it from your vernacular, I have yet to see you blink an eye when a black rapper uses it 800 times in a song. Big fan. I agree. Any time I watch black reactors react to this song I always cringe just a bit to wait and see what they say. Personally wether or not it’s with the hard “R” I wish that word would disappear out of the English language. I also wish that a word so filled with hate wasn’t used constantly by those who the word was originally made for. On a better note as much as racism is always a hot topic I honestly believe it is way more rare than the media has us to believe that it is. I’m a white guy who lives in the sticks in Kentucky. 99% is white. I honestly have never met a person out here who is racist. Now me living where I do and I’ve never met someone who is truly racist, then how in the world can it be like the media makes it that black people are so racially profiled. I just don’t get it. Wish people would wake up. I mean fuck the color of someone’s skin, it doesn’t make a lick of difference. If us out here in rural Kentucky understand that then everyone else should too. Luckily there are songs like this that can get us having a conversation and we can all come closer together. Listening to SK speak that he doesn’t use this word made me feel good inside. Most my black friends use it like the word “friend” or “him” or “they” but I still can’t get with it.

Not really. By not saying the word you actually offer it more power, because it will become more shocking when someone says it because you don't hear it often. For example, in the Harry Potter franchise, voldermort's name is rarely said out loud so when its said it has more punch. By using the word in the correct context, and not just saying it just to be edgy, we will gradually devalue you the word

@@dubtee7656 I see your point. But even the black community still uses the word as a term of endearment and it still has the same shocking effect when other people outside of that Community use it. Now that I think about it I don't know if that word now will ever lose its power regardless if we tried to stop using it or not. Possibly because the word has such a dark history we can never undo it. It's almost like trying to make a curse word a non curse word. I don't think it would be possible because of the history of the word. But we can only hope that one day people can stop using the word to put other people down.

He’s pointing out in my opinion that white people in the same social situation suffers maybe as much, but he chose to point out the plight of the nuclear family struggling at the bottom of the social ladder against the racial stereotypes (black and white). I wouldn’t feel bad for not rocking with it but that just means it wasn’t meant to move you as much as the average person at the bottom who has hate in there heart who is suffering. I was a DJ on KDAY when Dr. Dre. was DJ'ing there. That is where I first started hearing that word, after only hearing my grandfather use that word. It seemed so odd, now people fling it around. Not sure why, to tell the truth. What is the point of using a word that is hated to call out someone, or to identify one's self? My______ I'm your _______, etc.? I have always found it strange that we fight against racism but yet we still use the same word or a different connotation of the word to define "friends" or "homies"..or even as a greeting. I know of some reactors who want to stop saying the word in their reactions because they wanna inspire others to do the same. But when you have so many rappers today flinging the word around constantly it is hard to start a movement to remove the use of the word. I do not like word...period. Because if it is wrong for me to say it as a white guy..then it should not be used by anyone else because it only gives the word more power and carries on this ongoing battle of "should we use it vs should we not use it". The fact of the matter is, this word is frowned upon when the wrong race utters it..but it is open arm accepted when the right one uses it. I genuinely wish we'd stop using it all together because it carries wayy too much history..wayy too much suffering.. and wayy too much hurt behind it.

@xPositivityx bless Racism - a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. White trash and rednecks are not depictions of the entire white race. Redneck is a derogatory term chiefly, but not exclusively, applied to white Americans perceived to be crass and unsophisticated, closely associated with rural whites of the Southern United States. These terms, although derogatory are not applied to all white people. It applies to a subgroup of usually white people who have their own subculture. In other words, just being white isnt sufficient to be called a redneck or white trash. The n-word is a derogatory term that is applied universally to all black people inside the united states regardless if you are decendent of slaves or not or regardless of what region you are from. The n-word is also directly related to the history of racism in the united states where white people actually believed that the African race was inferior to the white-european race. Blacks where enslaved and oppressed for so many generations that it is universally recognized to have had long term ongoing detrimental effects to mental states/conditions of African Americans today. Not only this, but the centuries of oppression has established hard to eliminate residual infrastructural biases in laws, policies, institutions of government and education at all levels (federal, regional, local).
White racism, which DOES exists, is no where near as deep, as steeped in pain and suffering, and as long-standing as racism against blacks in America. The majority of power is still in the white mans hands (For example, 77% of congress is white while 59% of US population are white. It gets worse when you look at other institutions). So it makes sense that this other perspective that you mention isnt given the same recognition. It doesnt deserve to be, at least not now, when the issues blacks face are STILL greater!
Moreover, im a believer that more whites wholeheartedly joining in on the fight against racism against blacks in America and keeping that in focus until conditions are much better will reduce racism against whites. Also, are you KIDDING ME with the CONFEDERATE FLAG?!?!

Eminem was able to bring attention to issues without ever having to say the "N" word ... however I do appreciate artist(s) the Joyner lucas "I am not racist" and Adam Calhoun "Racism" songs that bring attention on how people are being seen in America here.. whether right or wrong they are trying to being awareness to this this topic !!! ... Mr. Stevie Knight I love your Eminem reaction(s) traveling down memory lane as a stan (Catching new stuff bars schemes Punchlines) etc. ... I appreciate your honest take on this song. I love that you have removed it from your vocabulary, I wish everyone would. It seems it's more the color of the person saying it than the word itself that you have an issue with. If it was just the word, you would always react that way when other artists use it. Do you think we as individuals choose to give power to words and how they make us feel? Or do they inherently have power by definition?

Dude, as a white dude in Alabama, your thoughts were spot on. I'm about as politically incorrect as anyone, but I don't know why people want to take it that far. He could have made the same point without using that word. I like all types of music, but one thing country does better than other genres is to follow the less is more method. For example, Tyler Childers wrote a song called "Long Violent History" which encouraged white people to see shit from black people's perspective. He did it in a way that was non-preachy or offensive. He even put out an explanation called "A message from Tyler". Check it out on CZcams.

@@tahneshaperkins8207 I undwrstand thats the case but it shouldnt be. Either a term is dispicable and abhorrent or its not. To racially discrimiate based on a word seems foolish to me. I personally dont like the word regardless of who says it because I understand the pain that it has caused. Black people have made this significantly worse by trying to correlate empowerment with a disgusting word. As ive said before, jews dont called themselves kikes in social circles and its for good reason. Racially demeaning terms are never empowering regardless of how you try and twist the language

I don’t like the word either, but as a black person, I understand why fellow black people use it...at the time when slavery existed, the need to unite was necessary, as it would be for any group of people having to suffer the atrocities that they did. Strength in numbers they as say. But it doesn’t reflect the same type of unity when used outside that race..
And if ACal used the ‘k’ word and made this song about Jews and white people...wouldn’t he be receiving the same kind of backlash? 🤔
If the goal was to unify and to draw attention to a problem then he shouldn’t have used the word at all and found some other way to get his point across...🤷🏾‍♀️
