    The 3rd cable 2:45 can connect to the power supply, you just have to unscrew the white knob off the + and - terminal on the power supply.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před rokem +1

    Can you confirm that the input power wiring is correct? (L / N) (Hot / Neutral)

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for watching! I don't know if I understood correctly what you're asking... normally the L = phase = hot, and N = neutral / common and for last you'll have the G = GND = ground/earth. Thats the case in this power supply, if I missed the question, can you please explain it in more detail, sorry if I missed the point.

    Unfortunately this power supply isn't that reliable as suggested. One of the weakest parts is the turning knob for the adjustment of voltage and current. It doesn't take long before this knob starts giving problems. Then it's almost impossible to adjust voltage/current as it jumps up and down. This is my second power supply having this issue.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před 3 lety

      Hey Egbert, thank you sharing, that kind of knowledge only comes with usage time of the equipment that I didn't have and no longer have the power supply since I gave it away to one of channel viewers, so your insight is very useful. But that seems to be a problem of the button, poor quality, but in terms of accuracy and performance, are you satisfied with the power supply? You bought 2 so I imagine its reliable as a power source. From my tests seemed to be very reliable, but you're right if we can't control the options it doesn't matter much the outpu. Again, thanks for sharing and for you comment. 👍 I have a 500 subscribers reached milestone giveaway running, look at the channel last video, it might interest you.

      @@TechCornerTV hi, yes it's my second one and my last. The big rotary knob is the weakest part of this power supply. If it works, it's a great device. Regarding reliability: that's a qualification when can only be evaluated over some dictated time of usage.

      I'm still using this power supply. Just recently I decided to try to repair the rotary switch and much to my surprise it wasn't very difficult. It costs me only 10 euro to get it up and running again and about 20 minutes of my valuable time 😅. So I'm a happy guy.

    Hi mate. Can I get a good power supply for under 60 euro?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jack, answering you question. Up to 60€ is very hard. I fond this one geni.us/uBxk (it has to be a Geniuslink URL otherwise youtube deletes the comment) and this is a switched power supply from Wamptek (30v/6A/180w) but I didn't test it also, so don't know exactly what you would get. My opinion and might be a biased one, since I get stuff from review from them and I know the products better, is to save more 30 to 40€ and buy the SPE3103 ( geni.us/RtIGM ) from Owon (you have the review here czcams.com/video/WCGjIdjAFRI/video.html ) and this is an amazing programmable power supply for the price, but again, this is my 5 cents on the topic. Just FIRST press the memory button corresponding to the memory you want to set, then set a voltage/current value. That’s all. When you change memory and go back there you’ll find your last setting.

    My Korad had famous crash issue even with the updated boards. I'm done with this Chinese junk. From now on, on keep on saving money to buy Rohde & Schwartz or similar high end equipment. Granted you can buy a complete lab with Owon or Siglent stuff for the price of just a Rohde & Schwartz power supply, but at least you don't have to worry about the equipment failing or, even worse, destroying anything hooked up to it.
    Chinese just can't designing anything decent.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jan, I don't know why this comment doesn't appear on my youtube studio, I had to come to the video to see it (I was notified by e-mail).
      Regarding your comment, this power supply was offered in a giveaway to a user so I didn't have it long time to check the quality over time. My comments were related to the quality of the signal output and that was good, not a lot of noise and seams to be stable.
      Regarding your comment, if you see my videos and normally in my final consideration in the end of the video, I usually say something thats "You got what you pay for".
      If you've the chance to go for a Rohde & Schwartz I think you should do it or a Keysight. But in my opinion, it depends of the use you'll give to the equipment. I think Siglentm Rigol and even Owon have very nice equipments, not the ones in the entry level series, the higher range equipements are pretty good and for decent prices.
      That said, I think Rohde & Schwartz has a awesome equipments and I wish to have the €€€ to try some o them... maybe one day! Right now the channel only gives high expenses, but I like what I do so while I can maintain it I will keep this reviews comming.
      You opinion is very important to me, not of good things are these reviews made, the opinion and bad experiences from the users in the comments is very important for the community and I want to thank you to take the time to leave your comment/experience and also the time you spent reading this huge comment! sorry, sometimes I go and go... one final note, regarding the chinese products I believe you're right in 80% of the cases. Thanks for watching! 👍👍

    • @typxxilps
      @typxxilps Před 2 lety

      yes, and no. Korad is not Owon and not Siglent. And each of them produce their own products so you can talk about that particular product only.
      Why ?
      Because you will not buy another Korad once you had been disappointed so any generalisation about a brand becomes doubtfull cause the average user buys one faulty product and moves on to another brand - maybe influencers got all the Korad stuff shipped for free and can make such decision.
      I have gotten a Hantek 6022BL oscilloscope that was crap based on the lies and fake specs that they can measure 20 Mhz.
      Then I had ordered the Owon 1022i which is 35€ more but comes with 25 Mhz rating and achieved at least 20 Mhz where the Hantek was done at about 1 Mhz , not 20 Mhz. While the Owon has an galvanic isolated USB port and a strong community building its own software it is still not perfect, but the weak spots like software quality (windows) were solved by the love and passion of a community that only exists for good products that evolve and deserve the time, also the support of professional third party developers like the hscope android app guy, whose app can turn any outdated android phone or tablet with anroid 4.x upwards into an oscilloscope with good readability and features. I did not know that the Hantek BL model, which is not their entry model (BE), had been suffering from cost cutting like no ac coupling.
      That being said for many Pros the Owon 1022i is crap, for beginners like me it is great to check the cheap solar power inverters from china if they are any good. I am happy to have the choice and variety especially under the hood considering that many chinese products are also sold under different brands cause I have a pretty similiar one like the Korad, only my switches are a bit different cause they are a bit translucent.
      It works great for me, but I do not use it 247 at max output, only occasionaly when needed as power supply, not as a 24 charger replacement which it is not even though it can be used.
      Korad, Owon and Siglent like Rigol share only the nationality of the company's headquarter, production but they all are different beasts qualitywise , not only the brand, also each product can vary from top to poor compared to the brands reputation.
      But if you get the cheapest brand's car you would not step up from the indian Nano to the Mercedes e-Class cause it is 20 times more and between those extremes are a lot of other offers available, you simply have to find the right one that meets your needs and budget. That being said I am happy with my 'korad' clone - at least for the 54€ I had paid in 2019 for a 31V x 5 A or 150W power supply which I did not have used at 30V, mostly 5 to 12 V and rarely 24 V.
      But I also have a smaller one for up to 3A and 24V which looks like a notebook power supply just with a display and 1 knob. That one is far more portable and faster / easier to use cause you grab it and are ready to go. But that was a really cheap one for 9€ on sale which had lastet and lasts far longer than expected without any branding, just a banggood deal I came along.
      And I did not expect such quality from that one even though I added my own voltage meter to avoid causing damages by too high voltage. Those devices are bargains but without trying you can not learn that and would rely only on the Rhode Schwarz Mercedes.

      Last I checked "Made in China" dominates almost everything today. You'll be surprised that all your equipment is probably made there then relabled and a brand stamped afterwords after their own QA tests.

      depends on the moment of time cause 2022 prices are different to those of 2019 when I had bought it for maybe half the price.
      But right now you will not have much choice if you need such power supply.
      Otherwise you can wait about 5 years till you might see that previous price level again - if we will ever see that again cause low price levels can only achieved by at least 2 rivals fighiting it out or multiple new brands entering the market, but it looks more or less quite the opposite, some are leaving the market and moving ahead with their production to knew, different products.
