    Enjoyed your video about upgrading to Tusk Terrabites from Rocky Mountain. A couple of days ago I did the same thing to my 2020 Polaris RZR 900 Fox Trail Edition. I live near Salt lake City and do alot of riding all over the great state of Utah. I went with the 28 X 10-14 Terra Bites from Rocky Mountain ATV after putting about 1,000 miles on the stock tires. The stock tires were just to small for some of the riding we do although I never had the sidewall problem you mentioned. I also went to the larger 14" Tusk Locking Wheel Rims that look great with these tires. I enjoy your website and found it interesting we upgraded to the same basic tire at approximatedly the same time for the same machine.

      Thank you for writing! I am glad you enjoy it! I love the TerraBites. I have another episode coming with the tusk 1.25" (I think) spacers for the fronts and rears, but just picked up an F-150 with the 6.5 bed. MadRamps on order, so she will be in then back of the bed, but Fedex is delayed. I would love to see some pictures, let me know what your IG is or post them on Facebook: The Beaten Trail. Talk soon!

      What tire and wheel combo did you install. I see the 28x10-14 tires. Are they on 14 4+3 wheels? I want to upgrade my 2021 RZR trail, avoid any rubbing and Do Not want to add a lift kit,,, keeping the stock suspension in tact.

      @@TheBeatenTrail I just bought a 2013 maverick 1000r. Probably going to get 30in tires, and new 14in beadlocks with a 4-3 offset. Eventually atleast. The tires that are on it are still good and I dumped about $4-5k into it already in upgrades since I bought it and I might run what it's got for a season before I blow more money on it 😅

    Good review. I am new to the S x S world. Got an older Polaris Ranger. An 06 model. Still has the original Carlisle tires that are pretty warn. Have been looking at the Terrabite tires. Trying to figure out if they would fit the front end. Stock tires are 26 x 9 x 12. Seems an inch taller would not matter. Thanks for the video

      Thank you. Glad you enjoy it. About 300 miles or so and love them. Out in the snow as youll see in one of the latest videos they handle great. I had more trouble with clearance of the rzr trail than I did with tire grip. In fact these tires did better than the ones that were on the stock general and XP 1000 that were riding with us so we made it up all the hills. Love the tires for sure!

  • @rayrouleau221

    Thanks for the videos. I just got a 2021 900 trail fox edition except they call it ultimate now. I have 3 miles on it but am going to buy the tires now. I was planning on the 27x9x12 with the same wheels you got. I don’t see the 28” listed. I am worried about going any wider as we have a lot of tight 50” gates in CO and I want to still fit. Do you still fit everywhere with the 11” wide ones?

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  Před 3 lety +1

      Well I am 3 to 4 inches wider than a 50 inch so where I have ridden in the past at least New Jersey and Pennsylvania i haven’t run into 50 inch gates but I’m sure that they are out there possibly and set up some of the state parks in PA and New York. I have not run into them yet. One thing that I had did have that made me wider was the standard Polaris rock kickers or sliders and I have since taken them off and will be putting on the ricochet low profile ones but any kind of tires that you got that are really going to be wider than 9 inches you’re going to widen your size. I do have a set of tusk spacers which I have not installed yet because they will make me even wider and the back of the pick up truck currently is 60 inches wide. So again it depends where you ride it sounds like your state wants to keep the width of the units at 50 or so so I would definitely measure your gates because I remember someone stating in a video that they were about 51-52 inches and not super tight I guess they don’t want to scrape everybody’s unit as they go through. I love the tires but again they are wider than stock so I would say definitely check with your gates to get an exact number and when I worked with Rocky Mountain ATV they were good and knowing which would make me wider and not but obviously checked all those things before you invest money money. Thanks for watching glad you are enjoying the videos!

      @@TheBeatenTrail Thanks again for your input. I installed Rival tree kickers and they stick out too much. Rough measurement shows my width at their widest point close to 63". Not good. I may replace them also, but I live in PA and haven't encountered any 50" gates. Heading to Hatfield McCoy on Sunday for 4 days. I am not overly concerned about being wide, other than making sure I can still get in the back of my truck. I doubt that I will ride any 50" trails since my riding buddies all have wider machines. Thanks and have a good evening. I will stop asking questions. At least for now.

      Nice, I went with the 27's since I have the Mcnasty projections underneath and still have a smaller trailer. I also picked up the 1+inch spacers from Tusk, but have to wait to put them on until new truck/trailer.

      @jake3705 Před 3 lety

      @@jake3705 Guys, I have a 2020 900 Fox Edition and am looking to add Terrabites on 14x7 wheels. What offset did you both go with and how much did it increase the width of your 900's? I am thinking about the 5+2 in either 27 or 28 Terrabites with the 9" on the front and 11" on the rear with the 27's and possibly 10's front and rear if I go with 28's. I don't plan to lift my rzr so I am interested in any advice you guys can provide on this. Also, what is the tire diameters on your mounted tires on your machines for both the 27" and 28"? With what psi? Sorry for all of the questions, but I am really interested in these tires, but want to know what to expect when i get them. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  Před 3 lety

      Well for me the offset is 4.0, 3.0 and that's on my 27 11/12 Tusks. I went with Rocky Mt Atv's guys, they were spot on with what would work best, based on what I wanted. Same tires all around. Psi, i'm usually between 6-10, but I know everyone's different on their thoughts on that, terrain, time of year, etc. Hope that helps.

    • @georgeblankenship7489
      @georgeblankenship7489 Před 3 lety

      @@TheBeatenTrail Very helpful. Thanks. The guys at RMAtvs recommended I not go larger than 27's also. Going with the 4 + 3 offset, how wide does that make your rzr, front and rear? I measured my stock 900 today and got around 53 rear and 52 front, plus or minus. I also have the Madramps and am able to load my 900 in my GMC Sierra and the fronts fit between my wheel wells. I am concerned that if I go too wide on the fronts, I will be on the wheel wells. Not sure that is a huge problem though. I load mine front forward. I noticed in one of your videos you like to load yours rear forward. I appreciate you assistance.

    i just got a 2021 rzr trail premium and im looking at these what size did you go with on front and back. i can't find anywhere that says what's the biggest i can do on either tire.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  Před 2 lety

      I did the same size all around. How wide a tire will depend on if you want to use spacers or not. We have 1.5in tusk spacers on there now, but even without them, there was only minimal rubbing on the MCNASTY protection plates in the front - and only on a compression in a turn. I would recommend these tires since they are DOT rated for the roads, and they have great traction. NOT a mud tire, but it keeps it own on all other types of trails and crawling. You can call superATV or Rockymountain ATV to inquire or order, they have listed what will fit and not rub. YMMV, but Rocky Mt was very helpful when I was researching and eventually bought them. A 2021, just check with them, since I know you should be able to go to 27 or 28"s, but do check first with them.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  Před 3 lety +1

      Actually, I have not het run into gates here in NJ or PA. I am sure there will be some in state parks, but mostly have been running FRO, LT, AOAA and they're width-unlimited. I believe I am 2 inches wider, but I'll get a full measurement once I can. Love the tires, I can't say enough good things about them.
