Hi and thanks for this helpful video. I did as you suggested and got a pitch listening app for my phone. The strangest thing happens. For example when I play C4 on the piano and try to match it, I can hit the C but the app says I am singing C3. I don’t know if I should worry about this or not.

I'm a beginner guitar player. I know basic music theory. Is it just as easy to use the notes on my guitar for pitch practice?
Absolutely! Just make sure the guitar is in tune first of course :)

I think sounding sharp sounds worse than sounding flat. It's more noticeable.
