- Today we’re going to take a look back and see how I’ve evolved as a musician over the past 15 years. We’ll see what I’ve learned, what advice I’d give my younger self, and how I got to where I am today!

I love the positive vibes of your videos. I love that you're encouraging people to get over their fear of not being "good enough" - just to make music for the joy and passion of it. I think I could stand to take some of these sentiments to heart.
Pretty cool idea making a video showing your musical growth. Kinda crazy that we can look back at ourselves in video like this. This is a strange phenomenon not known to man for all of human history until just recently. I can't decide if it's a good or a bad thing, but it sure is wild. Keep up the great work!
It truly is a mixed bag. As an artist I think looking back on old projects is very valuable and eye opening. I've found that sometimes the thing I thought was great is actually not, while other times the thing I thought was crap is actually genius. It's never completely clear until you have some time away from it.
@@songsbyspencer Right. And then you get the satisfaction of finally completing a song you started ten years ago. It's like collaborating with your former self.
I was not ready for that ad lib at 16:57 lol it sounds so silly with the chords, it killed me
I just had to give the track some extra charm, ya know?
Wow this is amazing
Enjoyed checking this out man
Dope 👊love the news in rap 🔥🔥🔥
Maybe one of these days I'll bring it back. There's more to talk about now than there was back then, that's for sure.
Cool video, great that you had the ability to record all of those. In my time that would have been hard. I do have one from being about 19 it's almost two hours. Thanks to my guitarist who had a camcorder and recorded our jam session. Keep up the video's I enjoy your channel. Thank God I found it.
I appreciate that so much, Fredrick! Keep on jamming!
Diggin’ this 😎 You seem to have a healthy and level-headed attitude about your early stuff.
I'd say you only really have a level headed view of your work once it's behind you and you've had time to distance yourself from it. Sometimes the song I thought was great at the time, turns out to be not so great. Other times, the song I thought was so-so turns out to be an absolute banger. Time reveals all!
@@songsbyspencer This has been my experience as well.
Loved that acoustic track & the rap was pretty cool too! I know the feeling when learning & people coming up saying your crap etc. We always have two choices, keep going or give up. Rarely though would people tell ya how to improve. So we learnt through trial & error or great teachers in the future & a willing to learn from those mistakes. Your the cut of your dad now, same haircut & clean shaven. I cringe looking back at old videos.still i see vast progress compared to back then.
Dude this is epic! Especially the rap, maybe you should re-record it and release it; as you say, the message is even more relevant today.
Who knows, maybe I'll bring it back. There's so much more to say now than ever before!
@@songsbyspencer All the more reason to bring it back!
the rap is so dope
Subbed...really cool channel
Undone is a tune btw, really dig it actually
I appreciate that! Who knows, maybe it'll be on a record later this year?!

“there’s no way my dad wasn’t thinking, ‘this sounds like $hit’.
Made me lol. Thanks for sharing the cringe, I don’t know how you do it. I’m embarrassed watching old footage when i’m by myself.
The acoustic song with your dreads reminded me of Kurt Cobains stuff.
Is that a boss br-8 digital 8 track in the back at 17:00? I still have one 😂
Hell yes it is! That little device is how I learned to record. I still have it for sentimental reasons, it stays on the shelf in my closet. I'm glad I started on that because it's pretty close to an analog recording experience. When I finally switched to a DAW I felt like a fish dropped in water.
I would love to have a collaboration with you sir 🙏
Get your dad involved in a new video!
It's on my list! one of the days
What kind of business you got??
I'm a full time filmmaker and I own a company called LoudKid Films. We do some commercial work but we're really passionate about creating story-driven documentaries that spark great conversations. You can check out that side of my life at loudkid.com
@@songsbyspencer Wow ..Just checked your website and I'm blown away my friend. that's some awesome content you produced there ..
Just watched a few films and the quality is amazing!
Especially the ones about addiction struck me heavy ..
I am struggling with this shit since over 25 years now...addiction and mental health problems ...sadly in the last 2 years I realized that there never will be a way out for me .I just destroyed to much ..The daily heavy anxiety and isolating that comes with it is getting worse and worse and really taking a toll on my body after so many years... Playing music is the only last positive thing left in my life..
You really seem like a genuine cool dude!!
Keep up the good stuff and thanks for the great content ..
Wish u the best !!!
