    Well, I wasn;t joking when I called it a MASSIVE bargain, was I? Huge, but not completely obscene on wrist. It is still going to be a niche piece though, with the MRW200, Duro, or 5600 being a much better choice for most. Cheers, Jody

    FUN FACT: MRWs movement & dials are the same size & shape of Duros, so you can use them to mod Duro cases. Duro bezels are compatible with Planet Ocean inserts, so you can make any number of color mod variations for about $100 total (I made an orange one)

    Part of my reason for getting into watches was my wife complaining that my watches were too big. At the time, I was wearing 43-44mm Citizens. Now that the wife has gotten me down to 38-40mm watches....I'm thinking I should pick up one of these just to fool with her. 😈🤣

      It’s important to let her know you aren’t intimidated. But also important to let her know you respect her. $40 for a few giggles is a small price to pay. Also, it can be useful for camping, skiing, snow sledding with it over your/her jacket or strapped on a tent pole or piece of equipment. (Not a good watch, but a serviceable clock on your boat, atv or hanging in your rv.

    Cheap and cheerful, i have a few Duros, I won't bother with this one. I wish Casio sorted out the lume on their watches - if they had good lume, i would be happy to pay another £15 for one, so for example a duro with C3 or BGW9 which lasted the night would be awesome for @ £65-70

    • @SlimDonni
      @SlimDonni Před 2 měsíci +1

      @marko1314 yes, slightly, however viewing it from different angles is what improved the most, I can see the dial from what was impossible angles before, also increases water resistance, but this I haven't put to the test.

    In the old days, it was more defendable to buy Seiko watches. Sure they were not well spec'd and the QC was variable but they were cheap. Now they are NOT typically cheap. Maybe I would feel different if I grew up with Seikos ... wait I did, I had a mechanical chrono for YEARS and indeed it was the first watch I actually bought I think ... and I still don't like them today. They can do great dials but then let you down in the bracelets, clasps, price, and QC and I just feel like I get better watches for lower money in the micro brand world. In fact you can get better Seikos from LongIslandWatch than you do from Seiko. They will be better QCd, better priced, and they'll use better materials. Can't wait till LongIslandWatch starts doing their own versions of their Grand Seikos.

  • @tivobelievo
    @tivobelievo Před 2 měsíci

    Thanks for this one, Jody! I was meh on this watch since I already have and love my MRW200H as my gardening/hard-use beater watch (I did put a screen protector on it, and will also on the 210). Until you hit upon its superpower: high-visibility tough/beater. Well, you said (paraphrased) "You can put it on the outside of your ski jacket." EUREKA! The 200 is great and all, very clear and visible. But small. Add some bouncing or other arm movement and its tough to read. Likewise with digital, any vibration and you can't read the thing at all. This 210 is the perfect high-activity, high-damage-risk watch. It doesn't say G-Shock but you know it can take a ton of abuse like all plastic Casios can. And all Casios drastically understate their water resistance so this one has way more than necessary for any activity not taking place at least 500-feet underwater. So if you're in a situation where you're likely to bash your watch hard on something like a tree or rock, or crash so hard that you could rip the watch right off your wrist, and lose it, THIS IS THE WATCH TO WEAR! When it all goes FUBAR, worst-case watchwise is that you're out 25 or so bucks. Otherwise, either you risk a watch that costs several to many many times this one, or you don't wear a watch. Screw both of those scenarios! The 210 gives you Set-And-Forget accuracy, easy reading in all conditions except darkness, and true worry-free use. Buy a dozen, put Aliexpress screen protectors ($4.50 for 15) on them, set them, hand some out to friends, keep a few as spares, and hit the slopes or trails or whatever life-defying activity you choose! 👍🏼

    I just bought a Casio watch 😂 I wanted something digital to add in my collection. My choice goes to Casio AE-1500, it's cheap, easily readable, and I love the design. The only niggle for me is the "crystal" is made from resin, but adding $2 tempered glass fixed it. The lack of electro luminous light maybe a deal breaker for some but I'm fine with the amber light. Why don't you put the name of the watch in your description? It's become a nightmare trying to navigate your site just to find out about this watch.

      Did you actually watch the video? The watch's name is very clearly at 1:50

      Name of the watch is in the Tags. If you search for the name, the video will appear. Cheers!

      Also, you could look at the transcript. That’s what I usually do. Cheers.

      @@johnsrabe well call me picky, but I am pretty good with finding stuff and had a hard time finding it. I just thought it would be good to have it in the title.

      @@silkytp789 Okay: You’re picky. But I wasn’t ragging on you. I also have problems finding it, and wind up using the transcript. Might be easier to see on the computer, but I’m always on my phone.

    Have this one in khaki, and I like a bigger watch, but man, this one is really a bit too much, so I unfortunately do not wear it a lot.

    Ironic as on clicking on the video I was presented with a video advertising an IWC automatic perpetual calendar chronograph, which I suspect costs a tad more!
