1. im not well versed in music theory by any means and i like to think my music is pretty dope and im skilled enough to convey my emotions in a song... the thing is music theory becomes a huge advantage to have when it comes to scoring because you now have an "arsenal" of tools to quickly pull from to help you convey the emotions of "someone" else story. 2. tell me why my first thought was to have all the instrumentalist where clickers from the get go? lol
Ldre, I wanna tell you a few things and I hope you're reading this. I do film scoring professionally (still new, just got out of film school and did a couple of film festival short films) and I say you should go for it, it's a bit of a learning curve, I had to learn a lot of theory, keys, I'm currently learning how to work out sheet music, notation, ear training but it's not required to get started, pick it up on the way (not trying to give you your own advice hahaha) and I'm especially saying that because I started off making beats and EDM 8 years ago lol, but I got very much into the orchestra and film scoring during my time in a film school surrounded by those people, It's a fun world of movies and I highly encourage you! Secondly, I know you haven't watched Tenet (highly suggested, it's my ironic fav Nolan film) but you need to watch his breakdown of the score of Tenet, I'm a huge fan of Ludwig's work and the use of his huge ass modular rack and production he's done on Tenet is crazy, you'll enjoy it. Much love!
