I don't think the public will ever miss watching another drumline like movie if they came out with one. Music and musicianship are entertainment, I certainly became a fan of drumlines and look forward to seeing them whenever I can.
Oh brings back memories of the old marching band days... I'll never loose the tapping in my right foot when i hear music like this...its like im still in uniform!!! i knew I should have studied music!!!
THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD! You are the first one with a video that has their FULL cadance, so far I have seen videos with only half the battle, You have just made my day. Thanks
man! this is so awsome. and to think ....who started it all. for those who know history. not only is this music. it was and still is a form of communication.if yah don't know. you should take a african history culture class in college. none of that BS half a chapter slave history mess they teach in high school
The beats are really groovy and cool, and it's definitely something a crowd can get into, and for what COLLEGE marching bands do, this is great. BUT--being a vet of my high school's marching band, I can tell you, if our drumline played like that, we'd get laughed off the field. In high school marching band, playing complicated rhythms, with lots of notes, and CLEANLY, is where it's at. I urge you all to watch some marching band or drum corp videos and see what can really be done with a drumline.
i know this drumline may not have been the best, but you have to understand that its a movie, with less time to practice than professional plus studying acting lines, etc oh, and dont forget about dancing at the same time while playing. i wanna see the pros dance and play perfectly at the same time
These guys showed up, played whatever songs were on the radio really loud, and marched a basic formation. Granted, they executed what they did well, but there was nothing musical about it. Of course, everyone starts talking about how good this band is and how bad we suck and how we should play like them, but couldn't provide an answer why except "dey uniforms was tight" or "dey played dat *insert song here*" and "dey was loud!"
In high school i remember some kid saying he played the last cadence in band and when our schools faced off in football, they did "play" the cadence. But it was just the little intro part during the big bass drum hits 😂😂😂
Inventor & President of Argyle Enterprises is Proudly going to hire these students on the Grand Opening of the Company in Vancouver british Columbia Canada Argyle Enterprises .............
in my middle school drumline we did a thing where the bass drum players laid down just like in the movie and the tri-toms hit the basses....it was so cool and we got first place in a talent show
honestly drummers, relax. there's a reason they say, "life isn't like the movies". The producer needs to sell his movie and therefore he has to tweak reality a little. I'm a drummer and I like these beats, and the movie in general.
Since nobody can really give you a good answer at what dirt is. Ignore what everyone is saying about hands or whatever, wrong. The basic idea of drumline drumming is that every single note is played at EXACTLY the same time, so it sounds like one snare drum. When a line is 'dirty' or 'dirts-out' they get a fuzzy sound from the notes being played at different times. It's VERY VERY slight, but you can still hear it. Drumming in this movie is VERY dirty, listen to DCI lines to see 'clean' lines.
i'm in druumline & we aren't this good but you gotta admit , everyone thinks percussion is so easy & boring but DRUMLINE proves them wrong in BOTH ways . (:
I like this movie for the sole fact they captured the intensity of the drumline really well. Only thing i have to complain about is the lack of continuity. They had some of the snare players using mallets, and some sticks....
@TheChaooos dirty means when a certain section (like the snares) doesnt play their part together or theyre off just a llittle bit in tempo. basically if you can tell there is more than one snare when you hear a line play, its dirty. same goes for tenors
I agree with you people now wanna see drumlines do this sort of stuff and they also expect everyone who plays some sort of instument to have been in a competition. It's soooo dmn annoying!
@KillMeNowVIII It wouldn't have been very accurate... the setting wasn't a DCI competion, it was a HBC marching band competition. This is pretty accurate sound to a HBC band if you have ever seen the battle of the bands at a Hertiage Classic Bowl football game.
@sk8drumz LOL Dude....D.C.I drumlines Pwn this movie....cleaner lines cleaner everything....even showbands are cleaner than this....and in the movie the stick heights were all over the place... I play set for every genre and I did play in a drumline in High School but when I was introduced to D.C.I drumlines I literally set my Drumline DVD on fire....
@AChanceToDream the movie was awesome great drumming i use to be in a thing similar thing to air cadets and we had a drummer who could do nearly everything from the movie it was amazing just like the movie
@thatasianguy99 actually.. a lot of college bands in the south play in this style.. There is actually a competition similar to the BET Classic shown on the movie..
i can play both snare and quads, but i prefer quads because they are more fun and more difficult. i played for blue devils b, i am going to play for blue knights 2010, and after that will be a member of the blue devils A. the best quad line in the world, capturing almost every I&E title every year, which is the world solo competition. i kinda know what i'm talking about
@Cheznikkkk As right as you are, no one really cares. Here's a true story: I was in a band and we had a decent size, about 90 people, though sadly small seeing as we had a school of around 2,200(should've had at least 200), but our director like playing music that was challenging instead of on the radio. A LOT like in Drumline. Our halftime show theme was the Jackson 5 one year and we played, "ABC", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "I Want You Back" and another two songs I don't remember.
@5kill3rclan You do realize that most of the musicians in the movie were actually from HBCU bands? The only ones that weren't real musicians were the actors, and I believe Nick Cannon did receive a certain amount of drum lessons to at least mimic in a believable way. You've obviously seen the movie, and decided then that you didn't like it, so why click on a video about a movie you don't like?
@frodolives1183 are you kidding me? nick cannon is an actor and after the movie drumline he had like two different telvision shows and he is now the chairman of teennick
they just got a bunch of amateur/moderate drummers together, and put them on snare... wtf? dirt dirt dirt... tenors too! and no bass runs, just a bunch of low frickin concert basses... i wanna see a movie with dci guys like casey and jackson!
I really wish there were more marching band films.
Same
Tiene segunda parte
This very last song... we played in High School. It was our most popular cadence.... even in battles no one around had anything like it. I love it!
I don't think the public will ever miss watching another drumline like movie if they came out with one. Music and musicianship are entertainment, I certainly became a fan of drumlines and look forward to seeing them whenever I can.

This is so satisfying to listen to.
THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD!
You are the first one with a video that has their FULL cadance, so far I have seen videos with only half the battle, You have just made my day. Thanks
i love how people always make fun of bass drum players but they're the ones that keep the rhythmics going
man! this is so awsome. and to think ....who started it all. for those who know history. not only is this music. it was and still is a form of communication.if yah don't know. you should take a african history culture class in college. none of that BS half a chapter slave history mess they teach in high school

this movie is amazing and don't hate on it
You may not like it...but to tell you the truth...both styles require a lot of skill to play in that style...
This is awesome!!! The beat and rhythm makes me want to move my feet and body.
I'm not sure why people hate these cadences, but I love them. They sound nice to me. Especially when played
Drumline was a movie set apart from so many. I wish there were more movies about marching bands.
These guys showed up, played whatever songs were on the radio really loud, and marched a basic formation. Granted, they executed what they did well, but there was nothing musical about it. one of the best drum beats ever invented
Ayeeee. Blasting on my stereo system.

That is a really good beat
When someone say music is a joke, drop this on them.
They should make real marching band films.
The movie is Drumline
This is the soundtrack
@@cmebans35
Its completely inaccurate and horribly shot and recorded
this is freaking awesome!
NICE SOUNDTRAK !!!! WOW!!
God, this line was so dirty. Can they get an actual line to do a movie and a good, talented band?
i love this show
I remember as a kid at Montclair High in Jerz... we had a pretty sick drum corps. They where def nasty
i love this music
True. I bet if you started at like the beginning of the year, you guys could do it. At least the first one.
@nash549381- he did.. they talked about it in TeenNick, he was trained 6months before they made the movie. so yes, he was playing.
THEY ARE SOO AWESOME.
i'm in druumline & we aren't this good but you gotta admit , everyone thinks percussion is so easy & boring but DRUMLINE proves them wrong in BOTH ways . (:

favorite part of the movie
I agree with you people now wanna see drumlines do this sort of stuff and they also expect everyone who plays some sort of instument to have been in a competition. It's soooo dmn annoying!
Amen to that. DCI kicks ass.
If people think this is good, they need to listen to really good drumlines like The Caviliers or the Blue Devils!
@KillMeNowVIII It wouldn't have been very accurate... the setting wasn't a DCI competion, it was a HBC marching band competition. This is pretty accurate sound to a HBC band if you have ever seen the battle of the bands at a Hertiage Classic Bowl football game.
Now that I sit back and really listen to this and now that I understand music AnT should have never won

WOW men this is what I call a REAL drum line. lol
NICE!
This sounds sooooo dirty!
honestly, schools don't want to give away there style "of play", to the public for free.
They should make a movie based on dci...:-) the real stuff.
This movie is only for entertainment. Its not professional. But like you said, as a drummer about the double stroke roll sticks dropping thing.
awsome!!!
@Cheznikkkk

these sound like things that our drumline would play as a stand tune -__-
they did, its an independent fil i think about the blue coats.. but buts about the whole corps
The Quad or Quint part is siick I have to learn this by thursday.
Hi I like the snare drum.
Right now I have a drum pad. it is come soon snare drum.

COOL! when does your movie come out?
i have a question... is it an insult when the other "team" plays on your on snare...
lmao i love how you avoid conflict by saying nega and good point btw lolz
Is it just me, or is the opening statement the dirtiest open roll that's ever been played?
@frodolives1183 are you kidding me? nick cannon is an actor and after the movie drumline he had like two different telvision shows and he is now the chairman of teennick
Satisfied
I would like to see these guys take on the Cavies, these guys would get their asses handed to them on a silver (and green) platter!
Anyone know where I can find an HQ version of the Jump on it (Apache) piece?
they just got a bunch of amateur/moderate drummers together, and put them on snare... wtf? dirt dirt dirt... tenors too! and no bass runs, just a bunch of low frickin concert basses... i wanna see a movie with dci guys like casey and jackson!
