Epic Hike & Wild Camp On The Nantlle Ridge In Eryri (Snowdonia)

- We take a hike up on to the Nantlle Ridge Mountain Range in very high winds the weather has been crazy so far this year and today was no exception. We pitched our tent but the wind speed was crazy as it was knocking us off our feet. This part of Eryri (Snowdonia) is beautiful and the views of the surrounding mountains are stunning. This was a great test for all of our camping gear.

Thanks Spencer, as soon as the tent went up we knew straight away it wasn’t wise to stay up there and it two got worse so correct decision to go lower down 👍

Good work, boys! That looked a good climb, and that scenery was incredible. It's a shame you had to make a descent, but it was the correct decision. I've been considering maybe heading to North Wales for a camp soon, and this video has made me want to get up there. Thanks, boys!

Great video. I've been meaning to do the Nantlle Ridge for some time, so it might just be the next one when I'm next out. I didn't realise you had family up here in North Wales.
@@_alangjones_9429 cheers Alan, we were planning on doing a two nighter and doing the whole thing but the wind was too much so we had to get back down 🥲, yeah my partner Karen is from Pistyll on the Llyn Peninsula and her mum and dad live in Felinheli and Waun Fawr respectively we are always up there 😁👍
I'm from North East Wales, but the Llyn was my second home for many years, as I was always over there from childhood. I'd live on the Llyn or in Eryri in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work and hopefully bump into you both, either on a hike or a wild camp 👍🏴

Great vid guys. Haven't done the Nantlle ridge yet, but it looks like an epic hike. It's unfortunate you had to bail, but those winds looked pretty rough!
Thanks for watching mate 👍 the Nantlle ridge is a great hike and we really recommend it. Those winds were insane up there it was blowing us over at times as we used trekking poles to keep us safe we definitely made the correct decision not to camp in that wind. Take care Bud 👍👍
Best to move to lower ground if it's windy like that, makes for a better sleep if nothing else. Actually looked a nice little spot you found. Not all camps have to be testing gear in extreme conditions, sometimes it's good to just be out and have a peaceful easier camp. Looked a hell of hike up there mind! ATB fellas, take care.

That was some hike, I couldn't have done it with the weight of my pack.
It's always good to have a back up plan or secondary location to camp. It could have been worse and started raining after you pitched the first time.
Did you take a tent each of plan on using just the one? Take it easy atb Taff 🤠👊👊
Cheers Taff, it’s a great hike up on to the ridge mate not the easiest with full packs but that’s what we do, although I wouldn’t want to carry yours lol. We decided to take one tent as we knew we would be doing a fair walk and it cuts a little bit of the weight, lovely camp spot in the end but we planned to camp up top and do the rest of the ridge the next day 👍👌
