Gorgeous lyrics. I love that metaphor-chocked stanza that starts with "you unearthed me like a vein of gold." I have never seen that concept worded so beautifully and meaningfully, that God values our life so much he would be willing to dig to unearth our veins because he sees them as gold. Or maybe it means something else. But that was my interpretation. I love this song!
When people say that modern Christian music is hollow, i point them to music like this.

It has some metaphors i thought were confusing too at first, but i think the commentary on the mercury sessions helps.
Yeah, I'm glad he has commentary on the songs. It helps to make you feel like you aren't singing something you don't understand
He does things to try and make himself feel young again. Who knows: playing video games, going to the movies, seeing old friends, working out, whatever, but all of these things only serve to remind him of how he's getting old. But the patient love of Jesus, penetrating his frightened heart, makes him actually feel that rejuvenation he seeks.
