- Sugar Cubes sent over a new demo of the upcoming "Small Universe" handheld with a full aluminum shell and rotating screen function. They said they believe this is at about 90%. What do you think?
- Hry
I am really interested, I have been thinking about building a similar device myseof, but I don't find the right screen for it. Could you please tell us the screen size and resolution?
Any price or estimated release date?
I don't understand why it rotates...
I think it rolates for ds style and gb style
It rotates so that you take full advantage of the screen area in both Tate (3:4 or vertical) and Yoko (4:3 or horizontal) games. So almost no black lines any of these tow type of games.
@jacksparrow4111 I see it now, it's just not very noticeable in the video.
I don't see the option to edit my comment. It doesn't look 4:3. Is It the LG Wing bottom screen?
How about the Jelly Star Controller case? Is there any new news for that?
Finished products will be shipped in August
It's real! Nice!
why a rotating 4:3 display? you'd get similar results and less complexity in the build if you just went with a fixed 1:1 screen. if it was a rotating 16:9 then it would be more understandable to be rotating it
I don't know if the feature is as useful as they believe. But it's clearly their gimmick that they are hoping will generate interest. It's got me curious, but not totally convinced yet.
Vertical Arcade games are 3:4, so it makes sense to rotate a 4:3 screen. What use would be a 16:9 rotated ? What use is aspect ratio 9 : 16 ? None.
@@DKTronics70Ds?
@@DKTronics70 pinball games? but also I didn't actually realise that about the vertical games. Makes sense the more I think about it now though. But I think my point on a 1:1 screen of a decent size would be a better more versatile option than it rotating still stands.
加油,很有创意
Wtf? Where is the concept?!
Screen should have been bigger & !6:9. At the moment the difference is not big.
SD888 processor. Guess it'll be over $300 . A lot for such a niche device. Shame it's not a 4:3 display and a landscape format, stacked analogue triggers etc.
Is it really a niche product if there are hundred other devices just like it? Retro handheld emulators are pretty much mainstream in 2024...
@@Mindartcreativityno other rotating one i heard of
