What a perfect song to check out to see their talent. One of my favorites. You're right, Jhope is more on the melodic side in comparison to the other rappers. You also have to keep in mind that they released this song shortly after their debut in 2013. Jhope had only learned rap whilst being a trainee (they all were trainees before debuting as bts). The other two, Suga & RM had been rapping since long before bts. Jhope had to learn and develop is own style over time. Just a FYI, Jhope actually just headlined Lollapalooza by himself and completely crushed it and caused his day to sell out (I was there and it was a 10/10 experience). I grew up on rap, r&b etc. and I appreciate all the rappers for what they uniquely bring to the table. I'm glad that the response to the first video was pretty positive. We strive to be kind, but some people can get a little carried away. Thanks for being open to giving them a fair chance.

After each song you'll listen your opinion of who's the best rapper will change. So in a nutshell all 3 are fucking dope.

The BTS rapline is just so versatile. I have a highlight for every song, and it's never the same. Trying to compare them gets harder the more you listen to them and see their range, because they truly can do anything and everything the others can. But I think RM is the most creative when it comes to wordplay/metaphors/rhyme scheme, Suga has the most versatility in where he places his voice and pitch, and J-hope's voice blends between genres the best. Suga's voice often has a lot of nasal resonance, but he's also really good at singing/rapping from his chest voice and head voice and anywhere in between. Suga just plays around with pitch the most out of the 3, but J-hope is a really close second. No matter what genre RM and Suga do, their voices and cadences always have a hip-hop/rap/underground vibe to it, even when they sing. J-hope probably is the hardest to pin down because he trained with Suga and RM, so he reads as an in between of their two styles when you try to compare the three of them together.

Haha don’t be afraid of the fandom, you’ll realize we’re a really nice community! We’re protective of the boys, yes, but we remain respectful as long as others are. You can dislike songs and content, sure, we don’t get angry because of that. It’s just that we’ve seen too many people who brush them off and neglect their talent just because they’re Asian/Korean, labeling them without giving them a listen. I think it’s not a shock that our fandom’s constantly against racism and xenophobia, that’s what Bts is destined to face in their career. They are insanely talented in lots of areas, really influential in a good way, and are very genuine people. You’ll understand what we mean by that down the road.

Wow! Just found you guys and I can’t wait for you to hear more BTS. You’re going to be floored once you realize just how hard these rappers can go and how incredible the vocalists are. j-hope just headlined Lallapalooza in Chicago on July 31st. He sold more tickets than any artist in Lalla’s 32 year history. 105,000 people were there! Suga (aka August D) is one of the most passionate and fastest rappers you’ll ever here. RM is crazy good and is the one that will have the most English overall in his rap lines. Note: You need to always look for their live performances because they are incredible live. They just did a live performance of Born Singer in June. There are also “Explained” videos for lots of BTS songs because they are deep with their lyrics. Last, to really appreciate BTS, you need to watch “Introduction to BTS: The Bangtan 7” by Taylor. It’s long, but we ARMYs will stick with you if you have a genuine interest. My best advice is to either watch it all at one time or split it into two. My suggestions to get you started are the Cyphers 1-4, HipHop Lover and Mic Drop (Steve Aioki remix). They have over 300 tracks/songs in their back catalogue which includes the whole group, various combinations of members, individual songs, mix tapes and now one official album from j-hope “Jack in the Box” released on 7/15/22. All of the members are working on solo projects right now. We expect at least one more release this year. Have fun on your journey! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

There are people who prefer the styles of one member over another. But there really isn't a "best one" in BTS for ARMY. Each member has a style of their own but they all blend so well together. I recommend songs like Hip-Hop Lover, Rain, Am I Wrong, Whalien 52, Dis-ease. They have a lot of B-sides that get overshadowed by their "pop" songs.
And also don't judge then by one song, J-hope does do melodic rap very well, but he cab go hard too. Each member has solo work, so if you want to get an idea of each of their styles listen to those as well.

Lol loved the surprise! Thanks for checking it out! BTS surprises many with their versatility and the Western media pigeon holes them into NSync or Backstreet Boys lol There are Cyphers 1-4 color coded lyric videos and a live Cypher Medley w subtitles which are a staple for rapline stans. I Personally like Hip Hop Lover (live with subtitles) as they name drop their rap inspirations like Notorious Big, Rakim, J Cole, Em Nas etc. First time reactors have called Suga the Korean Em for some of his solos. Daechwita isn't one he speed raps in but the mv is one of my favorite mvs ever produced as it uses traditional historic Korean settings, instrumentation, and his swag is unmatched.
RM has been likened to Busta and Em on his solo tracks one of the most popular is "Joke" you will want a lyric video for that one he has 9 flows and never breathes. For an English track "Change ft Wale" is great. He's the only member fluent in English and will weave English wordplay into his Korean lyrics. Cypher #2 he uses a lot of English as well.
J-Hope - it's been said is the easiest to digest as his rap flow is very melodic. He let's things breathe as he started out as a street dancer. He recently headlined at Lollapalooza to promote his solo album. "Hangsang" live at Lolla has been one of Army's favorites recently. An mv of his I like is "Airplane" it's a chill vibe 😌 ✨
if your up for it there's an intro video by Taylor Nakamoto called introduction to the Members of Bangtan 7. Their discography is overwhelming at first and this video is the most well rounded introduction as it will answer almost every question a new listener wants to know. There's a lot here and you'll have many more suggestions 🤔 just grab whatever peaks your interest and enjoy the ride 😆

Also, as people mentioned already J-Hope headlined Lollapalooza. I was there in person and let me tell you him live is an almost out of body experience, he literally has the best stage presence in all of BTS, and it shows. Also he can definitely rap, rap...after all he was trained by RM & Suga lol. I mean for his first time doing a solo performance by himself he did pretty incredible since he is obviously used to relying on six other people to carry him through a show yet he did so well. Especially, considering they actually added ten extra minutes to his performance last minute so definitely check out his Hobipalooza. Also one more thing Jungkook's (BTS youngest member) Birthday is coming up on September 1st so you should check out his solo song "My Time" which is an R&B track about his life growing up in the spotlight since he literally joined BTS when he was only 13 and debut when he was 15 years old, and now is turning the big 25 this year. This was a great reaction! I enjoyed your commentary about the different rappers in BTS. This is a pretty old song of theirs which was released in the beginning of their careers (BTS debuted in 2013) so they have come very far with their style of rapping & singing.
    - RM (leader of BTS) & Suga used to be underground rappers before joining BTS and J-hope learned rapping after joining their company so he used to practice with the other rappers and has now developed his own style.
    - All the three rappers have now released 2 solo albums each, the most recent being J-hope who released 'Jack in the Box' in July.
    - I personally love Suga's style and songs the most and his second album D-2 has some of my favorite songs on it, but J-hope's albums are just amazing and very artistic with a LOT of fun and crazy vibes mixed. RM's second mixtape 'Mono' hit me quite hard with everything he talks about in it, plus his lyricism is just *chef's kiss* and his first album has some HEAVY and crazy beats (correct me if I am wrong, but I think he used a lot of samples of western rap or hip hop artists for his first mixtape so you guys might be able to identify some of them).
To sum it all up I appreciate all their rap styles and songs for varying reasons and they all bring something different to the table.
Some song recommendations I think you guys might like-
    Mic Drop
    On (Kinetic Manifesto Film)

    Fire
    Fake Love
BTS Room Live Festa 2021 (Its a medley of their B-sides. You can easily identify their versatility and fun stage presence)- czcams.com/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/video.html

My favorite song with RM rapping in English is BTS' "Cypher Pt. 2" -- he doesn't rap 100% in English, I'd say it's about 60-40 Korean/English, but it's just flipping impressive how quickly he switches between the two languages and kills it in both! It happens to be a diss track, too, which are always really fun.... It's primarily RM and Suga, clapping back at their former underground rap associates, who had immediately turned on them when they left underground and formed BTS. Since J-Hope wasn't a part of underground originally, he mostly serves as a kind of MC during the song, setting up and introducing RM & Suga as they slay their haters. I hope you give it (and all the Cyphers; there are 4) a listen!

In terms of the rappers in the group all 3 are have a style that they're uniquely best at, J Hope is very bouncy and has a knack for melodic rap, Suga's aggressiveness and passionate delivery are one of a kind, and RM's ability to fit multi syllable rhyme schemes in his raps are also a treat

this song is very special to the rappers specially Suga and RM since both of them were underground rappers and were criticized by their peers because of them joining the idol life saying phrases like "betraying hip hop", the performance of this song is so emotional that they once said they won't be performing the song onstage because everytime they perform the song they always ends up crying. I love this song so much

Looking forward to your journey! Lyrics are EVERYTHING with these guys. I love to watch everything several times to understand the essence of the song and eventually I can just listen to the beautiful music without knowing what they are saying but completely understanding the message. I'm am fairly new to BTS but literally have devoured their content over the past few months and cannot tell you how impressed and honestly overwhelmed I am with how amazing they are. I have seen all the best recommendations already in the comments so you've got plenty to keep you going for awhile! Also, their music videos typically tell a story and are connected in many ways. Lots of breakdowns out there if you're into that kind of thing. One suggestion I have is do not feel like you have to choose a fav or a "bias". Mine literally changes daily depending on what I am listening to and what mood I'm in. Once you know them better, someone may rise to the top but for now, just take it all in and enjoy the ride. You're gonna love it!

This track is from 2013, you have a lot of songs to get through… The rappers are extremely versatile and they always complement each other on the tracks, which makes them better. So j-hope’s melodic rap gives the track a special dynamic, which also goes with the lyrics (which you really need to check out). He has different styles as well. I suggest Outro Tear next, which is just the rappers. Watch a live performance with English subtitles, please. Have fun!

The 3 rappers’ styles can be briefly described as:
RM - clear diction, flow switches, on beat
Suga - flashy, attitude, prefers rap behind the beat
J-Hope - old school, melodic, refers rap ahead of beat

RM and Suga were underground rappers before they were part of BTS. J-Hope is great and he just did Lalapalooza as the headline act on the final night and the first Korean Solo act to headline. There's nothing better than finding people with one opinion of BTS slowly start to see the other sides of them. And most of Army is going to be nice about it. That's the culture BTS I stills in us as their fans. And all of the rappers have their own unique style that somehow works together in their songs. But each of them is a force to be reckoned with on their own. You'll se them throw some English in, and that's just normal in K-Pop. RM is the only one who is actually fluent in English, so he usually has the most. But it's nice seeing you guys try it with open minds after the last video. And don't worry about "catering" to us, we want to see your real thoughts. If you like it, you can say it. But also, if you don't like something, don't be afraid to mention it. Not everyone is going to vibe with every song, because we are all unique. And letting us know there was something you didn't vibe with will just help us Filter out song recommendations to help guide you to the right ones you might enjoy more. Thanks for the great reaction, guys.

I don’t wanna talk too much and I’m sure other Army’s will give you more detailed informations.
But I have to add a little more :
RM is actually the leader of the group and one of the main songwriter (all of them are but especially the rappers). His verses often has both Korean and English wordplays, but for full verses in English here are a few collab he did :
Champion -Fall out Boy ft RM (remix)
    Change - Wale ft RM
Crying over you - Honne ft BEKA, RM

You'd probably also really like their song Hip Hop Lover. :)
Other songs that are specifically the rapline that I'd recommend:
    Cyphers 1-4
    Outro: Tear
Ddaeng (suggest you also watch the explanation by a Korean by DKDKTV because, as you noted, rap is incredibly difficult to translate)
Ugh (also suggest the explanation by DKDKTV)
You'd also probably love Suga's song Daechwita, which was released under his solo artist name AgustD.
As a general note, RM's lyrics tend to be the *most* difficult to translate because he is trilingual and loves to play with language in his lyrics.

Being new to BTS can feel a little overwhelming at first, there is A LOT of content out there. They are each individually talented and amazing people. Different styles and unique voices. Put them together and you get legendary entertainers. There is so much back story and meaning to BTS and songs that you really just have to dive down the rabbit hole and find it all out. It's worth your time if your open minded and obviously interested. Before long you'll get better at reading the subtitles and following along. ARMY will be here to help guide the way. I'm not sure about them, but a couple of years ago my friend told me to listen to BTS but I was going through the 'I can't like anything traditionally feminine-I hate pink and flowers and makeup' phase, and the idea of liking a boyband, and one that was getting really popular at that, made me feel a lot of shame. But I got over that and accidentally stumbled into a dance practice video and here I am. I'm sure other people experience something similar; they don't want to like something that everyone else likes, they don't want to hop on the bandwagon, etc.
Also, I think that people who have a lot of respect for language-based art like writing and rap are hesitant to trust translations because we understand how much nuance and context falls between the cracks. They were mentioning that those translations probably aren't entirely accurate, and while they're right, I actually think it's super helpful to get the translation like that and then to do a deep dive into the translations and meanings via doolset/dkdktv. It's always better to start off with a translation that's flawed, but is tied to the rhythm of the song, and then make the small corrections as you research.

I think that him saying I’m “mad” it’s almost saying I’m surprised that I liked it. Especially for people of a whole genre of music going in having only a couple of pop songs they heard as reference. Just surprised that they did a different genre of music and was good at it. A lot of other artist venture out from what their “genre” is and when you hear it, your not really impressed or it’s not their sound and they go back to their own original type of music. So, when people talk about BTS having different types of genre in their music, they are skeptical about it. But then, they listen to it and realize that what you said was true and they are actually really good at it, and it still fits them. That’s why most peope can find songs that they like from BTS even if they don’t like all of them. Which I respect greatly.💜

bts has solo songs within their albums that can show you some of their styles. But the thing Some of them have story lines or running themes which is why people don't usually recommend them, but if you do it in order you will get it.
Rapline for example in the love Yourself albums:
    1. Trivia Just dance ( JHOPE)
    Love at first sight
    2. Trivia Love (RM)
    Falling in love
    3. Trivia Seesaw (SUGA)
    Breakup, questioning relationship?
Another trilogy of rapline work from the map of the soul 7 album based on Carl jungs philosophy.
    1. Intro Persona (RM)
The social mask rm wears in bts.
    czcams.com/video/M9Uy0opVF3s/video.html
    2. Interlude Shadow (SUGA)
Suga's fears he faces being in bts.

    3. Outro Ego (JHOPE)

That's because they prioritize speed and upload videos within minutes of a new song's release. This is why they always have the most views, because they always show up first when searching lyric videos. i'd honestly recommend any other lyric video, even those with few views cause they tend to be more accurate in their translations. having said that, the best translations are done by doolset's webpage (unfortunately they're not on youtube).
