This song is a bit of mythological musical theater, with Marco playing the part of the devil. He amorously pursues Floor's mermaid. ocean spirit character unsuccessfully. Great reaction video my friends. Next time. Peace.

Seriously? Jesus she's impressive. This concert is one of my favorites, and she did so many older songs she had never performed. She nailed every one of them while getting over a cold? 😱

This is a very intense duet. Marko plays a sinister "Devil" and Floor is the "Ocean". Old song from the album "Oceanborn" (1998), decades ago. This BA performance is from 2018 (Decades tour), so they haven't slowed down by the years.
For your next Nightwish reaction I suggest "7 Days to the Wolves" Wembley 2015.

That's normally where every reactor begins with their Nightwish journey. The song has arguably the most epic ending of every rock/metal song ever made.

Greetings from Finland, the most metal country in the world with over 700 metal bands per 1M inhabitants - for comparison the U.S. has less than 5. Having seen the ratio of likes to dislikes, I'll jump the gun & assume that you liked this Nightwish performance even if Floor hadn't even fully recovered from the sickness that made it hard for even speak & which she suffered from during their South-American leg of their world tour.

Those Latin crowds REALLY respond! Check out Ghost Love Score from 2012 in B.A. - the crowd sings the guitar solo with Emppu and end the song chanting Floor's name (and Jukka - the original, "mad pirate", drummer urges them on!) It's also one of Floor's earliest and best performances of the song.
LoL the number of time I see reactors switching their new favorite song with this amazing group is fun to see.
In my opinion, with how different each song is, varying styles, vocal gymnastics, and the inability to predict what they will sound like everytime, the Band is just my favorite!
I appreciate all they do artistically regardless if it is totally my cup of tea at first listening.

@matandchels, you guys are just scratching the surface with Nightwish with Floor. I would strongly recommend you do Ghost Lovely Score live in Wacken 2013 next, this one will give you a taste of Floors range and style of her amazing one of a kind voice, the song is a masterpiece in itself. 🤟🤟✌️✌️🇨🇦
Floor and Marco singing together is the ultimate blending, both are powerhouses, and Floor is a voice athlete, the best femal singer and performer on stage.

Enjoyable review as always! This and Romaticide that you previously reviewed are good songs but IMHO, not in the top tier of Nightwish songs.......If these are getting 9 and 10 from you, I dare say you have to revise our rating system up to 20 when you review Ghost Love Score, Storytime, Weak Fantasy, etc.......Although Nightwish is best served live, allow me to suggest one from the new album "Tribal". From what I can surmise, you appear to like the heavier, harder stuff and the guitar, vocals (middle verse) and in particular he drums are the hardest in the Nightwish repetoire. I would thik that most of the Nightwish Army would agree with me that the "Holy Trinity" are Ghost Love Score, The Greatest Show on Earth and The Poet and the Pendulum"......none are very very hard, but each is an epic and IMHO among the most beautiful music ever composed......and these songs were not merely written, but composed..///incredibly inticate and poignent......warning; all very long. but I can guarantee you that at the end of each, you will be shocked how quickly time went by.

She doesn't mean musically a ballad, like a slow song. She means in the story telling sense like a gothic epic poem, a murder ballad.

Actually it is perfectly a ballad going by the definition of a poem or story told in short stanzas, which is how the song is performed until the 'devil' professes his true feelings for her and the 'mermaid/siren' finishes the song. Fun reaction guys, got a sub from me.
