      Mason Gill whoa...you mean like only the first part of the video, right? cause it'd be a pretty peculiar HS if they taught 14 year olds how to build an atom bomb (or a regular HS with a really really unstable chemistry teacher) then again my college chemistry prof. taught us how to cook meth so...

    • @randy109
      @randy109 Před 9 lety +5

      Mason Gill My son went to University for six years and has three degrees, his primary degree is Mechanical Engineering. His wife (my daughter in-law of 14 years) is a research scientist. My daughter is a Math Teacher of 11 years. They ALL say that if given the money their respective Universities could have easily built a basic Uranium Bomb and the very idea that the Iranians or North Koreans are "trying" to build an Atomic Bomb is laughable because they could have done so fairly easily in the mid 1990's if they truly wanted to build such a gadget. Only Fox "News" believes they CAN'T build one and millions of Americans believe Fox "News".

      Anyone with a PhD in physics, (or even a Master's degree in Engineering) knows this simple truth. Besides, the USA still has 10,000 Nuclear Warheads so what the hell do we care if Iran builds a dozen or so? It's the height of hypocrisy if you think about it...

    • @j.sanchez187
      @j.sanchez187 Před 9 lety +6

      randy109 so many things wrong with your comment. first of all yes, in theory it is easy to build a bomb. getting the materials however (enriching uranium, heavy water, etc.) is not as easy. secondly, fox news isn't the only one reporting on it. many reputables sources around the world get their information from international intelligence agencies and leaked cables. thirdly, no it's not hypocritical that we should have bombs but not them 1) we invented them 2) we never ever threatened to use one on anybody (japan doesn't count. they had no intention of invading the mainland US and we had no intention of invading them. the kamikaze warfare would have continued indefinitely and never bring an end to the war) Iran on the other hand, continually harasses other countries, engages in proxy wars, openly calls for death to america...when was the last time a US president stood on the rose garden and started a chant of 'death to anything'?

    • @ethericboy

Saddam Hussein wanted only Euros for their oil so you had to get rid of him somehow;Ghadaffi was about to establish a gold based currency called the "Dinar" With some other nations as payment for oil,meaning that how much oil you Cold afford was Connected to how much gold you had and not Dollars so you had to somehow get rid of him.If my own country Norway was to reject Your "allmighty dollar" for Our oil you"d probably attack and/or invade us too!

      @redquark4832 Před 8 lety +25

      +Paul List Right. Where is your evidence that education is worse today than it was back when this video was made?
      Your argument makes no sense. We are in the "Information Age" , i.e the age where we have all the worlds knowledge at the click of a button and somehow this is a bad thing?
      Do you seriously believe that this video is the last of its kind and nobody is making educational videos like this anymore? I have news for you, these videos are still being made but they are more up to date and more scientifically accurate. Education has never been better as we have never known more about science than at any other point in history.
      But no, according to you, because kids are no longer watching grainy video tapes on big chunky televisions it means that education is dead. What is this obsession with "literally everything was better in the past and this generation sucks"?!

      This comes naturally from the work of Einstein (and others) regarding relativity.
      As did many other things, such as space-time and curvature, the none static state of the universe, (that Einstein couldn't come to terms with, and later would become the "greatest mistake of his career"), and gravitational waves, that have JUST been observed.
      Mathematical models can be very very powerful in showing us how things actually work in reality.
      If this didn't work, we would not be here to discuss it. There would be no long lived stars, and hence no life.

    The 80s or whenever decade this video is released is probably the best decade for videos to be made 👌😩👍

    • @kathleenr4047
      @kathleenr4047 Před 4 lety

      That would be the decade of the 50s (and maybe a bit of the 60s) But by the 70s, narrators no longer sounded like this. --- So no, not the 80s.

    Most of this was created in my hometown of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Some of my friends dad's were on those teams that did it. They wouldn't talk about any of it though, but wow.
