My Dad burned all of this great music into my brain at avery early age. It sounded good back then and sounds even better now. Thank you Dad and RIP I love you
@@MontoyaMatrix Not at all. In fact, you could take the entirety of recorded music from 1940 to 2010 and the only decade that would appear weak would be the 80s. The 80s were shit. Idolizing famous celebrities because of their status as stars is meaningless. Look at the music recorded. The 80s were cheesy, contrived, and arrogant. I went to a predominately all black jr.high/high school in Texas back in the early 80's. One of my best friends was Italian from New York.We went on a 8th grade field trip and he was playing hall & Oates "I can't go for that", in which I thought it was a black group. Man I fell in love with the group and after that he turned me on to Journey, foreigner, Air Supply, Pink Floyd, etc. There's nothing on the face of the earth that can replace the 70's/80's R&B, Classic Rock, Funk, and Hip-hop. Thank you Steve Lizotte!
I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor, SISTER CHRISTIAN by Night Ranger, and WHO'S CRYING NOW by Journey on my YT channel in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks & keep on rocking.
I am pretty much listening to him for the first time and he is definitely one of the best, better than Robert Plant. The way he injects in the feeling and emotion whilst keeping the technique there is crazy.

1981. I was twelve. All by myself in Southern California transplanted from Massachusetts. Total culture shock! Wouldn't trade the memory for anything though.
@@michaelnoardo3315 Not sure if your reply was meant to be sarcastic but just imagine a twelve year old kid from Boston wandering around Huntington Beach, California in the 80s. I’m 14. My parents listened to classic rock 24/7 when they were my age. They’re turning 58 this year. They’ve burned Journey, Fleetwood Mac, etc. into my brain ever since I was a baby, and I’m honestly really thankful!
This is my all time favourite of journey. It's catchy, mysterious, and true. The lyrics are top and that back piano and bass and guitar are out of this world
JOURNEY?.....SO AMAZING! I LISTEN TO ALL TYPES OF MUSIC...I DON'T DISCRIMMINATE...IF IT SOUNDS GOOD?...I'M IN!....STEVE PERRY....ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALIST EVER!
Back in 2006 I heard this song playing in my high school weight room I look over at my football coach and say "I know this is journey but whats the song" he looks at me and says "you know journey?,well it's who's crying now" been jamming this ever since.
My children know these songs because i would play them on the way to school many times. Now they have been to see them live (Arnel of course, whos an swesome singer) and have enjoyed at least one concert!
I am a 50 year old into punk, goth, alternative music and some old metal. I should hate this. Heard this song on the radio back in the 80s and just loved it. Great story but remember Steve's voice was pretty Hard Rocking as well especially during 1980, 81, 82. I was never into Punk but loved Rock, Hard Rock and Metal 🤘
reminds me of Phoenix Arizona in the 1980s. I now live in San Diego, but the people in Phoenix, dude are Fuckin friendly and cool. not such a bad city. I used to listen to KUPD FM. excellent rock station
damn you Steve Perry...Damn you for having a voice of an angel. One more comeback is all were asking for. Sure Neal's a big douche, but just give it one more go around for what would be the greatest reunion ever.
I saw Journey live in Charlotte, NC in 2017, they had the new lead singer that sounds a lot like Steve Perry but not quite as good as Steve. Still a great band.
My Dad burned all of this great music into my brain at avery early age. It sounded good back then and sounds even better now. Thank you Dad and RIP I love you

@@harveyboy7019 Yes, but we're talking about "relatively" in pop music. The 80's was a Golden Age for recorded music.

This is one of the (very few) song I would define the whole of the 80's with.
The Greatest Band of all time. Steve Perry's voice is beautiful, strong, powerful. The best...
Rush is the greatest band of all time but, journey is my favorite band.
Sorry man, Rhonda is right. Plenty of good bands out there, but Journey is in a class of it's own.
Rhonda!!!....Hell fuck yes!!!!!....NO ONE will EVER out do Steve Perry!!!!.....EVER!!!!!!.....Love you Journey!!!!!!! 🤗

If you are listening to Journey in 2022, you are a legend! This was the music back in the day!
2024🎉
That voice is simply beautiful.
It's been a mystery
And still they try to see
Why somethin' good can hurt so bad
Caught on a one-way street
The taste of bittersweet
Love will survive somehow, some way
One love feeds the fire
One heart burns desire
Wonder who's cryin' now
Two hearts born to run
Who'll be the lonely one
Wonder who's cryin' now
So many stormy nights
So many wrong or rights
Neither could change
Their headstrong ways
And in a lover's rage
They tore another page
The fightin' is worth
The love they save
One love feeds the fire
One heart burns desire
Wonder who's cryin' now
Two hearts born to run
Who'll be the lonely one
Wonder who's cryin' now
Only so many tears you can cry
'Til the heartache is over
And now you can say your love
Will never die
Whoooooa-oh-whoa
Whoooa-oh
Ooooooh-whoa, ooh-whooa
One love feeds the fire
One heart burns desire
Wonder who's cryin' now
Two hearts born to run
Who'll be the lonely one
Wonder who's cryin' now
Some now to wonder.
