- Today I'm going to add yet 50 more little details in Sims 2 that makes the game even better but aren't implemented in Sims 3 and 4.

Time for some more clarifications, as always:
- Remember that this video is titled "Sims 2 details not in *Sims 3 & 4* ", so The Sims 1 is out of the question even if there are details that I mentioned present there.
- Pets in Sims 3 PC can't get jobs, but they can in Sims 3 for Console. Though I've stated in 0:08 that this video is based on The Sims on PC since it's considered as the "main" system.
- Some of you said that you can introduce sims to others in Sims 4 Get Together. After I checked, I found out that you can talk about other sims with others, but not necessarily introduce them directly like in Sims 2. Please correct me if I'm wrong with this one.

I'd call the Get Together feature more of influencing other sims' relationship. Yes, they may meet new sims, but in The Sims 2, introducing two sims with each other makes them start off neutrally.

Playing Sims 2 and I JUST discovered this: if your sim is pregnant, they can’t change the litter box. This mirrors real life where pregnant women can get toxoplasmosis from cleaning cat litter. WE SEE YOU BEING RESPONSIBLE SIMS 2!
I think they have that in Sims 3 pets as well, which is good :)
Iirc they also can’t drink “juice”, which funnily enough they can in Sims 3, despite it being basically sim alchohol

And if the house was on fire, they would run to take any newborns (never the toodlers, oddly enough) out of the house. Which is very smart of a creature who's first instinct when seeing a fire is usually to scream and stand really close to it.

The other day I was playing The Sims 2, and when I told my sloppy sim to mop up water, he looked at ME and pointed at himself with a dumb look on his face as if to ask, "I'm supposed to do it?" Then he hung his head in disappointment and carried on with mopping up the puddle. Just thought I'd mention it because I don't think I've heard anyone talk about that.
That's so cool. Like they realize you're their overlord, controlling their every action. In a way it's also not that cool, because it kind of breaks the 4th wall a bit and damages the immersion. It's cute, though.

I miss how the enemies worked. I can't make them genuinely hate each other in sims 4. In sims 2 I tried to make Romeo and Juliet's elderly parents get along and they kept fighting... I miss that level of genuine hatred
ikr! in sims 4 my sim cheated with a married man. they eventually got divorced, and my sim is basically enemies with the ex-wife. then my sim invited her to their wedding and she was just there enjoying her time! in sims 2 the ex-wife would've slapped her, yell at her, or even pick a fight. it was so meh and boring in sims 4 😂
Dude the Romeo and Juliet thing was so hard for me as a kid. Their families would constantly fight and be upset when Romeo and Juliet were together lmao! It was so frustrating but it adds a layer of fun and immersion that the sims 4 doesn’t have
@@jermafan111 I did you one better. One parent died on each side and I married Romeo and Juliet (they were adults by the time I got around to playing them). Because I felt bad for the old farts I moved them into the same house. So, under the same roof, I had Romeo, Juliet, his dad and her mom (and eventually their children). I wanted the old folks to date, which obviously never happened, so I hoped I could make them like each other? Nope again. They kept fighting (it was annoying, but hilarious). And I think he died first and she was happy.
Sims 2 was crazy.

There is more. If a sim picks up the phone while the rest of the household is asleep, they will talk very quietly so that they don't wake someone up. Also if a grandparent has a great relationship with the grandchild they will sometimes tuck the kid while its asleep and I checked you can't do it yourself, they do it by themselves. It was very sweet when I saw it.😊

I don't know if grandparents can do it, but you can tuck your son in sims 4 too (I think you just only can do it manually, but idk).

At this point, TS4 should've just been rebranded as a house designer sim.
From what I remember hearing, "house designer sim" was the original idea behind the project that became The Sims. They added little people to judge the house you built, and then afterwards they found that managing the people was just as fun if not more so than the home building. There's little remnants of this idea in how Sims judge the purchases you make, and in TS1 there's a tab with stats about the house and lot.
I find it funny though that with TS4, they've made the life simulation so boring and the build mode so streamlined yet deep that the game is now more enjoyable as a house designer sim.

@@JelllieWitch Sims 3 compansates the lack of details with a lot more than 4 though . It gave us open world, create a world/style, story proggression, an overhaul of the trait system. Sims 4 gave us "better" CAS with only 20 skin colors and clay hair xd

@@radwooah And do you know why? To get the game to fucking work. TS2 doesn't run-- being real there is so many issues and even people with monster computers like TheSimSupply can stuggle to get the game working. The sims 3 is better but do I even need to speak about island paradise? Yes they sacrificed things from the other games but it was functionality. Which, in my opinion, a really huge factor in any game. Much more important then if they have enough skin tones for people to self-insert.

is it just me, or has the sims series kind of lost its... whimsy, over the years? like the sims team just sort of hones it in in the later games. in the sims 2, they go above and beyond with all sorts of details that give it such replayability, and make it a favorite for most (tho not all) sims fans
Will Wight left in 2009 so that's probably why sims 4 is bad.
The answer is fairly simple: the original creators left the studio after The Sims 2. EA has just been milking their work ever since.

THIS! so much this! Sims 2 you leave your kids alone? Social worker comes and takes them away because you're a bad parent. Sims 4 leave your kids alone? Magically whisked off to day care! big deal. Want to live dangerously and not put a smoke detector in? Someone's gonna start a fire making a dang salad! Sims 2 has more heart!
I can see why I get bored pretty quickly when I play sims 4. The lack of fun details is crucial and this is all the more noticeable when comparing with the game of sims 2 😩
Another detail: Walking on wood floors makes a characteristic wood creak sound, while other floors have their own sound when walked upon

the MOST IMPORTANT detail from the sims 2: when a toddler bites a toy and you click somewhere to do an action, the head of the toddler will apear... WITH THE TOY IN THEIR MOUTH LOL

Sims 2 is the most ELITE, we just need the same game modernised to our present day. That's what the sims 4 should have been.
It doesn't even need that, it's perfect as is, in my opinion. More importantly, makes it easier to create mods or new items.

Honestly I'm really disappointed in Sims 4 especially I've been loving and playing sims since I was 3 but at this point I just feel betrayed I'm looking forward to Paralives I really think we get what the life simulater fans deserve and even if sims 5 will be good its to little to late

You know what's ironic? When Will Wright first pitched the idea of The Sims, Maxis itself was pretty reluctant while EA was the one who was more receptive of his idea. And yet, when it came to the output, Maxis did the franchise more justice than EA ever did.

Sims 1 cas was easier I don't want to mess with every facial feature I won't even see from above their heads, plus the faces actually looked unique whereas in every other sims game the sims are very samey.
sims 1 was a newborn a marvel in its infancy, sims 2 was a wonderful child that didn't understand or thrive for economic success it just wanted to live in a world of fun and imagined things in wonderful detail, Sims 3 was a rebellious teenager pushing the limits of its engine and our willingness to pay for more all at the same time and sims 4 is an adult with bills to pay and no will to live just survive, Man I hope Sims 5 is a really cool grandparent who wants to spoil us rotten because it realized life is to short to be cheap.

There was also the Social Bunny; I wasn't aware of that one until the first time it appeared in my game. I had four or five sims in the room and two were sitting on the sofa, including the one the bunny was visiting. I was controlling one of the others, so it wasn't visible until I clicked on that particular sim and I saw it ... this big-arse rabbit was standing behind the sofa right behind him, staring down at him ... and I near shit myself! The way it was standing there staring was so damn creepy. I can imagine this game giving little kids nightmares - it near gave me a frackin' heart attack when it just appeared on the screen like that!

And the next day around 3 AM when she was sleeping soundly, Vladislav Straud decided to 'pay her a visit' by forcingly waking her up and drinking from her.
Then, with a satisfied smirk on his face, he left. She fell asleep on the floor, totally dazed.

All I could do was stare at my screen with disbelief, shook and creeped out.
Totally didn't expect that to happen.

Immediately the next day she asked her good friend Salim Benali to be her roommate (since my Sim had been living alone in her apartment, and, for obvious reasons, didn't feel as safe as before all by herself).
To my delight, he said yes, so me and my Sim calmed down a bit after going though such traumatizing experience.
/also, there was a spark, so things happened and they're now together living happily with their precious daughter in a newly renovated apartment 😊✨/

I dont know if you've mentioned this but in CAF, when you already made are sim and making another they can make noises in the background and depending on their relationship they look at each other a certain way. I find it really funny and so lovely
Who else remembers having a headmaster over when you're applying for Private schools? You had to schmooze and bring out the best recipes you can for him/her to decide if your child gets in. There was also a timer/meter for that event.

6:25 they can also be RUDE about it which I found out a few days ago. My sim got fired because of a choice she made as a paramedic, tried to call a friend to talk to, and the teen kid answered "She's at work, unlike SOMEONE I know"

Here’s one. In Sims 2, there is a “flirt” interaction when sims are sitting at the table eating, which involves feeding the other sim a bite. This “flirt” option appears even if the other Sim is your sibling...

I played with dine out recently and I had an option for that! I’ve only seen it the one time though
my uneployed sim once called a friend, the mother was on the phone and said " she/he is working right now, unlike some others". or smth like that. I was quite intrigued over that statement! :D sims 2 just makes more sense.
To be fair, that one is unrelated to your sim's employment. It's random what the person picking up the phone says (apart of course from them saying the other sim is at work or at school). I've had plenty of sims get that same message, even if they were max level in their career and just got off work, lol.

@Nico Nancuante I dont hate sims 4, the problem with that is that seems so artificial at times. I love sims 4 party system, construcyions vampires/mage system, and date system. But it feels a little off sometimes, idk it just me. And story progression on sims 4 its weird, i prefer the sims 3 version. Where you can see all news on the newspaper. And i love the mods of sims 4, but.. thats all. Its not all detailed. Maybe i want more detailed stuff

the sims 3 also have one, but its implemented in a weird way......... you only get it if you purchase the "life time reward" with the points from the wishes.....

I remember that one. I was playing with the Goth family and when Mortimer died, the family members received money.
It was basdd on the aspiration level of the sim who died, I believe, rather than the relationship level.

Man, ea shutting down the original maxis really shows how much talent left the studio. I can kinda understand not having some of the detials at launch, but sims 4 is like 80% through its lifespan and it still has way less than sims 3 and 2 did at launch.

Maisie Moo x Yeah. I was so upset when realm of magic and Island living came out. They gameplay just isn’t there. Sims 4 is lacking the depth that should have been there from the beginning. I could play sims 2 or 3 for hours upon hours. About 1-2 hours of playing the sims 4, I get bored and don’t play for a few days. It’s just lacking.

I loove the dating termometer thingy! You get more time each time you ”climb” a step, so your date is cut short if it’s boring, I also love that you get a reaction afterwards!
Extra detail that i knew
1. after wishing "make me beautiful" from genie. People around your sim will react positively with hearts and all. implying that he/she really are beautiful and mostly single sims or sim with romance aspiration that reacted that way
2. if sim has a spouse and not having romance relationship with anyone else, they usually kept thinking about their spouse rather than similar sim that match their turn ons. unless you force the sim to check the other sim out.
3. sim greets and ask to leave people in different animations depending on their relationship. at neutral they will give handshake, new friend will wave, best friends will hug, enemies will literally shoo them off and lovers will kiss
4. when gossiping, they usually only gossips people they knew and highlight an actual bad memory that sim has experienced
5. idk if it exist in sims 3 or 4. but in sims 2 you can watch tv and read books while laying on the bed. in sims 4 you only sit on the bedside while reading or watching tv

You can get gossip about strangers, but it usually has to go through an actual grapevine of aquitances. So, you might hear that your best friend's mom's co-worker's son caught his wife cheating.
That said, the chain only goes as far as your chain of aquitances. A pair of brand new Sims that have never met anyone else will pass back and forth between each other that Sim A burnt the food - and they will both be shocked every single time.

@@philippatran2745 - Because it's based on relationship-shatus, not the green bar. They would kiss, if they were both still in love with each other, even if one is furious at the other. I've experienced it too. I think hearts take a while to go away? I'm not sure.

Here is another one. When you put a sink on top of a counter, some counters change accordingly. Like some lose the drawer on the top cuz it wouldn't work irl, the cheap bottomless one shows the pipe etc.

Sims 2 is the ONLY Sims game that "interact" with another EA game. What I'm about is:
Sims 2 can Import MAPS created in "Sims Sity-3" (I think it was) and use those world maps as your Neighborhood. So you can have CUSTOM neighborhood/Maps
It was SimCity 4, but yep. This was the only way you could actually build a neighborhood from scratch too; you could select empty templates within TS2 but the road layout and the terrain was fixed.
SimCity 4 also allowed you to import Sims from TS1 as citizens in your city, that you could follow around and query for their thoughts on your work.

Maybe Sims 2 and 3 can't be compared because they have taken and added equal amount of details/features but sims 4....it got rid of so many things for NO good reason and in exhange only gave us better CAS (-color wheel)
About the sleepwears:
While it's true that the player can choose that in which the Sim should sleep, Sims who go to bed at free will will choose an outfit according to their personality - Sims who are more shy will always choose the pajamas and Sims who are more outgoing will always choose the underwear.

It’s amazing how I remember all of this but forgot entirely. Almost every number I’m like “oh yeah they did that!!”
Sims 1 : the baby , learning and making small staps .
Sims 2 : wonderful child that's playing and makes everbody happy .
Sims 3 : a teen that has a verry bussy life .
Sims 4 : the adult who is boring and just pays his bills .
I think sims 3 is that teen who’s parents expect way to much for him and constantly bends backwards for his friends and family but gets no thanks

When The Sims 2 came out I couldn't stop playing it. I get bored of The Sims 4 in less than an hour.

Omg me too! I would literally lose an entire day playing TS2 and when TS4 came out I even WAITED until they had released at least 4 expansions THEN I got it and the 4 expansions all at once and as hard as I tried, I could not play ot longer than an hour. I just got bored of it so fast. And I would actually try and FORCE myself to play it longer but I would just keep getting bored and end up shutting it off.
I've never played it again since.
U like TS2 which I have reinstalled and play a few times a week and have once again downloaded a buttload of TS2 CC lol

Teens get disgusted by their parent’s being lovingly mushy, or just think they are crazy. They do the, you’re crazy gesture. They will also get embarrassed by goosing and making out. Although outgoing Sim teens will approve of it, but still will be then grossed out or disgusted or downright embarrassed by it, depending on what it is the parents are doing. Always fun to gross your teenager out with some lip time in front of them. A good way to scar them for life. Adult Sims will also be embarrassed by their elderly parents being likewise lovingly mushy towards each other still. I’ve even seen son and daughters-in-law do this. Guess it makes sense, who wants to see two old geezers going at it.

Here's some more interesting facts about dates! In fact, if you reach "great" level on date, you will be also gifted flowers - one rose and a note with it.
Also, your sim might receive a love letter in a mailbox after a "good" date. While reading it, the sim will perform a cute animation and then store it in their inventory. You can then place the note anywhere you want in the form of an unpacked letter, and if you place it on a shelf, it will transform into a greeting card with a portrait of the author of the note.
You may also receive gifts after going out with friends!
Another cool thing is if you receive flowers and a note and place it on a table and you have another romantic fling over, and this other person sees the flowers they will get angry and sad and want to break up with your sim

Mine got so upset about it after looking at the note and flowers and hated their love interest after and got furious with them. See if it happens if they are instructed to view the notes or flowers. Was dream date flowers and notes.. doesn't seem like it bothers all Sims. And mods that disable Jealously stop it from happening too.
Oh... I do have mods that lets you turn jealousy off but I don’t have it off and I always make them view the bouquets and roses and stuff like that

All these details are what really made us fall in love with this game. At least, it's what got me hooked. Even seeing an animation fifty-eleven times, I'd still be excited to see it again because it was so detailed.
I miss being able to make my own towns and vacation towns. It was so much fun being able to build a Chinese or tropical vacation spot, with custom made hotels and tempels etc. I loved to make my own medieval city.
i remember missing the memories in sims 3, i was like "wtf where are the memories? what are those photos without any little stories and their own special image? is THAT it??"
in sims 2 there were so many types of memories, like when your sim sleeps with their professor, growing up, kissing death or masters new skill, each one had their own picture and represented the whole life, while in sims 3 they don't have past at all. all memories feel fake and can be deleted or(!) just stop saving because they reach some limit.. ridiculous
n black at least in the sims 3 they knew people around the town and had grandfathers, parents and siblings in their family trees. The sims 4 doesn’t have that at all. They townies literally don’t have parents
a lot of people actually overlook this, but there IS a memory system in the sims 3! its in the simology panel, a little scrapbook that holds your reputation, some stats (times you cheated, times you got photographed by paparazzi, etc) your sims’s biography, and all their memories!
The number one reason why I couldn’t get in to Sims 3. Memories make the game feel alive!
