  • We decided started our 2020 walking year with a trip to the single munro in Glen Falloch, just north of Loch Lomond. Beinn Chabhair was a good choice taking into consideration the weather forecast. The bridge leading across to Beinglas campsite has suffered some winter damage and is closed for access which results in diversion north up the A82 to the next crossing.

Magic Charlie. You two are keen. I took the right hand side of the falls(mistake but a cracking view of the falls) which lead to a small detour to cross the burn and back onto the main path. A beautiful sunny day in the snow. Achilles tendonitis has flared up big time so I wont be out for 3 months at least till it fully heals(Hopefully). Was in agony all last year with it. Your vids will tide me over till then. Take care Scot and Jager.

Thank you for the video. We had heard such bad things about the bog field that we decided to park at Derrydaroch Farm and walk up the Glen to the north of the ridge and then head up the steep grassy slopes to the bealach. It is the route advised by McNeish in his Munro book. Worked really well. Stunning hill. Waste deep in snow at times.

Hello, That sounds a sensible route to avoid the worst of the bog. It's also a nice top if approached from the east just for a change. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie

Hi James, With a good pair of winter boots, gaiters and waterproofs you can get away with dry feet providing you don't stop walking.... lol. Cheers, Charlie.

Thanks for this one C&M as i want to bag this Munro this year, I heard the bridge was out of bounds and you had to head up that hydro works path. Bit of a pain in the ...... of a detour though. I have actually been up at Lochan Chabhair a few years ago after stopping at The Drovers, Went up by the falls and it was boggy as hell! Very surprised at the lack of snow for this time of year, Very strange! Cheers Charlie, Happy new year to you both and safe climbing for 2020 :) peter.

It's my first winter up here and I was expecting more colder temperatures and more snow, would u say it's been a mild winter this year or are they always like this?

Good walk lads. So is the only access to the campsite now the west Highland way, or is the alternative vehicle access?
