The making of a great heel promo is to always have an inkling of truth in it that no one can argue with, which makes you hate them MORE.

Gotta give Lambert credit where it’s due. This was actually a pretty good promo.
The Cody heel narrative has the potential to deliver some amazing long term storytelling and payoff. Hopefully they nail it.

There are many independent wrestlers out there who are remarkable, very + super talented and gifted persona which did not have a chance to show themselves to the world. AEW made their dream come true (many indie wrestlers debuted in AEW Dark & Elevation + Dynamite since it was published in 2019). For AEW, keep doing a great job, giving good shows and never give up but always stay humble in every job you all do. Stay in in this industry as long as you could. Stay humble.

Cody Rhodes is standing up for his company, against bully’s like American Top Team, and yet the fans still boo him.
Nobody looks at wrestling at a surface level anymore, Lambert is a guy who goes on podcasts talking about his love of wrestling. Cody is an EVP who comes across to a lot of people as a guy wanting to move on to a reality show and a game show, he comes out with an entourage, a ridiculous over the top entrance and people think he's held others down (I also think he's inherited some of the Triple H/Jarrett vibe of being positioned high due to an office position). He's also now got some of the Cena/Reigns heat for staying a babyface despite people being tired of the act. I honestly feel the heat is a bit unwarranted (he put over MJF strong as well as Brodie Lee), but he's not going to change things up without a major change up.
When people use to care about Cody changing his entrance song to Snoop version. Then like few weeks later everyone hates him, from my experience this is the worse flip I've seen when it comes to fans in wrestling.
Mate it 100% was not because of his entrance music. I could list 10 major things off right now why I've hated him for 6-7 months. The guy isn't a MJF heel. He's a go away heel. I want to turn my TV off whenever I see him and if he's in a main event I just turn it off for the night.
