shop Dirt Perfect www.dirtperfec... We make one huge mess but its all worth it in the end wow she is looking good. #dirtperfect #ltdan #coustomtruckbuild #painttime
Out of my 20 years of service as an Air Force Vehicle Mechanic, the most toxic thing I was ever exposed to was CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) paint on all the tactical vehicles. We had a moron that thought it would be a good idea to sand a panel so they could spot paint it! That was a MASSIVE EPA violation and we all had to be checked and tested due to the exposure for quite some time! If it needed to be repainted, it had to go to DEPO Maintenance since there were no local body shops with the facilities nor equipment to remove and spray CARC paint. The local body shops wouldn't even consider investing in the facilities and equipment due to the extreme regulations regarding to CARC paint.
I did that sand blasting deal in my garage on a car restoration and many years later I am still finding that coal crap around the garage . Truck looks great. Thanks for the great videos
Put some thinner in your paint bucket and your hardner can, swish it around and pour it all in the pot. Saves paint, makes sure you got all of your components in the mix and reduces environmental waste in your empty containers.
I do have to say, you're the First youtuber that I Have ever seen dealing with batteries that has actually set your batteries on wood Instead of Concrete. My Grandfather taught me that When I was probably 12, and I'm 55 now. Awesome job on the truck! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed watching it. The ole truck is looking awesome. I would like to see a close-up shot of where the frame was put together. I couldn't even see where it was after the paint went on. Again Lt. Dan is looking awesome.
Excellent spray job on Lt. Dan's chassis. Looks like a factory job at way less cost. Won't be long and us subs will be watching Srgt.D.P. Mike and Lt. Dan tackling their first big job together with flying colors.
Good video again you and Aaron are doing a fantastic job on LT Dan The frame looks good on it can’t wait to see the cab with paint on it but what do you expect Dirt Perfect on the job always do good work. Like I said before I sure do appreciate you taking your time to make videos for us thank you again tell Aaron what’s up tell him he’s doing good work to One hell of a welder y’all be safe my friend. I can’t wait for it to warm up so I can get back drag racing on the track
What you need to do after all sandblasting is done is use light air just enough to move sand and blow down all shelves , benches conduit just enough to blow it away to settle on the floor ! Works like a champ
Looking nice guys. Probably didn't look that good delivered. I'm glad it's you guys doing the painting though. I'm too old to scoot around on the floor. I would have to turn it over.........LOL! Terry from South Carolina
Best paint system to use for frames is a Sherwin Williams 646 epoxy with a zinc primer. The truck will rot away and the engine will die but the frame will still be shiny black and solid
My dad use to put a 1 gallon can into a 5 gallon pressure tank. You can switch easier, less cleanup and mixing is outside of the tank. Just make sure the straw is in the paint bucket. It may work with that 2.5, may not. Just a thought. I know these vids are a month or so delayed but it may be useful on a different project. Enjoy the vids.
Nothing more exciting to real men (over 30) than fixing up a truck . Looks great Guys !!!!!!! Thanks for sharing it with us other real men. "We all wish it was us".
Frame looks amazingly good, cant even see where you welded the frame together. Going to look so good when you two finish it up your not gonna want to put dirt in it.
6 years in the military. If it's supposed to move, grease it! If it's not supposed to move, paint it! If it yells at you, salute it!
Great job!
Salute you my brother Don . HOOHA!!

Quality supervision is the most important part of the job. Good job MBTS.
If you rub vassolin on your face before painting, it is easier to clean the paint off after.
Sounds kind of gross but olive oil spray Pam works pretty good too!
Lt. Dan, is really coming along! Can't wait until you & MBTS install the *dump body* and get that 1st load of dirt in the truck!
