Cinema 4D Tutorial - Creating a Particle Morph Using Cinema 4D's Inheritance Effector

  • The Inheritance Effector is probably one of the most underrated and underutilized effectors in the effector menu - and it's probably one of my favorite effectors to mess around with! In this tutorial, I'll show you how you can easily create particle simulation morph-type animations using only the Mograph Module, Effectors, and Dynamics. Using a combination of the super powerful Inheritance Effector and other Mograph Effectors and Deformers, you can achieve close to the same effect as an Emitter, Thinking Particles, or X-Particles as a simpler alternative in your normal workflow without having to touch Xpresso or learn some new particle system or buy plug-ins.
    Here is what I created using this technique:

    Hi mate, great tutorial. Just wondering if there is a way to animate multiple objects within a group and use that as a start or end point within the matrix? Tried to animate a couple objects and put them into a null but the matrix didn't using a null as an object. Is there a way to create another set of start and end points keeping the same effectors? Hope this is clear enough. Thanks mate.

    hey man i got a question, sorry if it sounds stupid, but i'm fairly new to C4D. When i render the image, i don't actually see the Matrixes ( the boxes), i've tried adding a plane and lights, but the plane is all i see. did i miss a step? I'm trying to do this to Text. not a mode. but i did make the Text 'editable'. A quick response would be amazing. thanks for the great video.

    • @arjunjanakiram8690
      @arjunjanakiram8690 Před 9 lety +2

      Matrices do not render. They simply hold position information. You will have to use a cloner with object mode and add the matrix as the position object.

  • @GroupeQuebec_R_BusGroupeQuebec

    Hi! I tried many times to invert it, do the reverse, instead start from1 point and ending into an object I can't do it!!! It is a real puzzle I work step by step but placing my end (like the arm here) and my beginning is another object you tell me what I'm doing wrong? object to another object, how do you do it? Thanks

    And don't forget to turn off gravity when you are applying the Simulation Tag.
    (press Cmd+D > Dynamics > Time Scale = 0%)

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  Před 6 lety

      Time Scale turns off the simulation altogether I believe, you want to just change the Gravity to 0 for things to still move, yeah?

    • @bogscave
      @bogscave Před 6 lety

      So, my ''model' was falling down all together with the numbers, I followed your tutorial, the elements was at the right place (not moving from the arm), but the entire arm was still falling down, because of the gravity, and I figure that out just by turning off the Time Scale in the general dynamics, because we don't need gravity in this scene.

    • @eyedesyn
      @eyedesyn  Před 6 lety +2

      The arm model was falling? You just need it set as a collider, not as dynamic, so apply a Dynamics Collider body to it.

    • @bogscave
      @bogscave Před 6 lety

      eyedesyn yeah, maybe that’s the problem, but as I said I solve it in that way. Than you anyway! Also thanks for the awesome tutorials, do you have something about the c4d render?? Like the best ways to export an animation or something?..

    • @eyedesyn

      That's OK, its all dependent on how you set things up in your individual scene so its OK!

    love this tutorial ty...do you think I would be able to use this for morphing robots? i have a university project where I have 5 robots walking along an a-b timeline left to right and they are each on screen for 36 second so a long time so I am putting a slow morph in the middle so one robot changes into another slowly. Do you think this would work like the particles would be sucked off one robot to make another? or would you recommend something else? I'm doing the evolution of robots in movies and it's based on the evolution of man. thanks in adv

      Hey Nicolas! Right, you woulnd't put the texture on the Matrix Object, but you would put the texture on the Cloner Object or the children of the Cloner Object.
