Soloing on up-tempo numbers like this on piano is very demanding. Hats off to Mr Kikoski, he handles it with aplomb - although some might say that he's just showing off! Great stuff.
Sounds like you're not very familiar w/ Jazz. Think again...Waaaait...just checked out your channel...you have OP, Craig Taborn, Jason Moran among your favorites, and yet you think these guys here are on coke? Why?
Maybe it's spontaneous enthusiasm. I've seen that here and there in Jazz gigs, don't hold it against them, but I reckon it's distracting to both us audience members and soloist himself. After all Kikowski wasn't done yet....
This david kisoski guy is an absolute madman
This piano solo entered jazz history! So intense ❤
This is the version I usually have playing in my head - the rhythm section just does it for me!
Dave Kikoski is unbelievable musician and showman. I believe he’s one of the best in the business has been for a long time. Keep it coming Dave.
Piano solo is just stunning, A best example
My man Kikoski is opening his third fourth and fifth eyes jfc
Wow! Total trance - jazz at its best! Ari is one of the most exciting drummer around.
the moment where david quotes House of Jade in his solo is just incredible

Love it, burning solo by Kikowsky and Blake, and rhythm section killing it, Matt Clohesy + Ari Hoenig in total sync.
David is kicking ass!

It was 20 years ago. Every time I saw him play it was THIS intense. Every. Single. Time. Saw him with the Mingus Band a few times. That was a treat.

Maybe just 10 bpm to fast. Great guys of course. But falling a bit appart in this tempo.
