EXECUTED BY HEATA & JOSH DAVIS
'Bad Apples was shot last summer just outside of Shepparton at the crossroads just by the Murchison East Railway Hotel & Train station, an iconic and humble piece of history which sadly has since burnt down. The video sees Briggs' own family playing the forefront in what feels like a deserted, disenfranchised section of a community that has been left to it's own devices. This video seeks to embody the heart, soul & spine of everything delivered within the track.

Briggs is the voice for the struggling youth in rural Australia. Real shit!!!!
NXTLVL mate all your hearing is Briggs struggling to breath bro. Looks like he hasn't struggled to get fed three times a day.
Yeh bro ;)
@oi nah fuck U
@oi nah just spitting the truth, this dude is literally my cousin lol
@oi nah He is? He's? Or his?
I lived in housing commission as a kid and later became a youth worker for teenagers under the care of Dept of Child Safety. This song captures the whole vibe of that life better than anything I read at work or uni! Much respect Briggs
Yep, I grew up in minto.. this song is awesome. Now I'm a bank robber haha
Excellent comment
I grew up in Central West Nsw with the brothers. Always have love for the brah, sis, maz, paz, unks and aunts. Representing Australia like a champ. #Otown slasher- Koorismashbros . Keep the pride high.
Good man/woman!!
Lol more white people grew up in housi than this Gronk his music sucks almost as much as his mentality he wouldn’t know what oppression is lol he’s never skipped a meal in his life
Fucking amazing, this is what i want people to be writing about shit that matters, not buying range rovers.
I'm workin on that Bugatti money.
Briggs Just keep doing your thing and you will get there mate. Keep making these relevant tracks and more and more people will spread the word i have shown so many of my mates this video they love it. that line they don't use them to pack shelves they use them to pack cells and then the commie takes off gives me an eargasm everytime lol.
Briggs Hey Briggsy can I make a lyric video for this song and if I can, what do you say after "What kinda life is that?"
I believe its they getting born and tagged teacher cant reach them, im getting fucking board of that. but i did one by ear because i wanted to learn the song.
you can use my version if you want theres prob some mistakes in there though.
they go from stealing bikes to stealing lives
so many young kids griping stainless steel knives
see a kid they dont like they messing him up
whats wrong or whats right is given less of a fuck
sticking him up left right stiching him up
everything revolves around getting the cut
middle fingers up fist to cuffs pissing it up
before their pen licinse fist in the cuff
they dont use them to pack shelves they use them to pack cells
up in the system before they even crack 12
you can paint a pretty picture using northern pastels
but its black and white and the latter still sells
what kinda life is that they getting born and tagged
teacher cant reach them im getting fucking bored of that
they couldnt spell there name off the bat
i bet ya they can tell you were to score a quarter at.
chorus 2x
they growing up fast they growing up tough
they giving back everything they never got as a pup
and if they want something you giving it up
if they want something you giving it up
they say one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch
what if all ya had was bad apples for lunch
what if all you had was all you could touch
and what if before you even had a dream you were crushed
they werent raised wrong they werent raised at all
you watched the bow break you watched the cradle fall
and now your surprised when the baby talks
and he asks what the fuck are you staring for
were there mothers (huh) were there fathers (huh)
here they come with all there fucking drama bruh
before you fix them theres another one
and the problems 10 fold and they learning tricks younger cuz
what you want aint always what you get
sometimes what you get is like a kick to the head
i guess you can chalk it up to cause and effect
but the core is all rotten and they got to be fed
they growing up fast they growing up tough
they giving back everything they never got as a pup
and if they want something you giving it up
if they want something you giving it up
it aint worth it who cursed them
point the fingers at the ones who birthed them
brought to earth a brand new person
the same ones who called them all worthless
they called them good for nothing i called them cousin
i call them brother and sister i still love them
brother and sister i still love them
THIS IS FUCKING BRILLIANT! Cheers Briggs for speaking out about shit everyone turns a blind eye on. This will be the first song I've ever purchased.
Thank you for shining light on the struggles children in broken homes go through. Much love Briggs, you're an awesome guy.
Yes 💯 this was my upbringings, dragged not raised. Raised up by ancestors after connection.
I don't generally like hip hop, but I've had this on repeat for the last two days. This is music with vision, in the sense that it opens people's eyes, invites them to pay attention to something important - invites both those inside, and outside, to do so. This is music of value.
I ain't even gonna lie, I'm here coz of the Vice documentary.
*EDIT:* For those of you too lazy to type out "briggs vice documentary" into the search box, the documentary is called *"Life as a Young, Indigenous, A-class Offender in Australia"*.
Deep song tho bro, I put it into one of my playlists.
+SMOҟE what documentary is that
just found it
Aaron Bell
Found it in 1 minute? You're a fast one, aint ya?
yeah lol
Just saw the vice documentary. I am now a Briggs fan. This fucking song is DOPE!!
+Rene Pena Got a link?
How can this man be so overlooked? This is rap/ hip hop of the highest quality from a different culture. This man should be an international superstar. Humour, sensitivity and fucking ace beats. Keep it going big man and strength to you. The world's just taking time to catch up! The Children will keep coming back fella and William Cooper and Les Griggs will be remembered thanks to you. diamond!
are you insane
One of the most powerful songs I've heard in a long time. Briggs manages to articulate complex issues through music. We've got a long way to go as a nation but people like Briggs are helping us get there quicker.
My fav rapper right now.
This is the best Aussie hip-hop I've ever heard, by a large margin.
i read it as large man, ahaha
No...its a abo hip flop...the guys a racist.....
@@alkil7854 and you realize by calling it 'abo hip hop' you fall back on creating a divide right? the guy has only been kind to the white people around him and simply brings up what he sees as inequality, if you really don't like him, then don't give him fodder by proving his point
True it’s refreshing hearing a Aussie rapper that’s actually good
You haven't heard of many then
This is Aussie Hip-Hop. Follows the traditions of disenfranchised black men, protest music. Powerful, honest and raw.
Take note all you 'artists' rapping about hover boards and other such fuckwittery. Well played Briggs, I love it.
Thank you for this! This is the greatest Aussie hip-hop track I have ever heard. On par with Immortal Technique in your ability to tell a story and force the listener to stop what they're doing in order to hear every word you spit. I look forward to more from you and wish you every success in the future.
This song us more relevant than ever and we all need to love and heal this gen that we created 😢its hard to say yes i messed up and now its our of control 😢 ❤ love and faith can do amazing things ❤❤❤❤❤
As a white kid who grew up in La Perouse I never understood why there was a bad attitude from many but as iv got older I see why and it doesn’t get any better for our indigenous fellas this nation has let them down and the older I get the more obvious it is.
This deserves way more than 250k views. Very important music
So happy I went to a Hoods show and saw Briggs. Mad tight rhymes yo. Here they come with all their fuckin DRAMA BRAH
Briggs is the hero oz hip hop needs, but not the one it deserves.
Briggs reminds me of an Australian version of ice cube and biggie mixed together to form a hybrid.. he raps so heavily and with authority. its crazy
Hell yeah!!!
Took the words out of my mouth
Amen.... Truely testifying a sad but undeniable reality.
Fucking powerful..!! I love the hardass, old school hip hop beat he chose to incorporate in this; it reminds me of an old stand off Western flick. The message he beings across is nothing short of perfection. So glad there are still musicians out there who care to write of substance and raise awareness towards important issues ♥
the beat kicks ass
Chyeahh! Unlike anything I've ever heard. Briggs did a banging job.
@@Makzimiser the beat is ass
@@ThorfinnStrife you shitty cause white people can't make music like the brothers haha
Well if you like hip hop with relevant lyrics and a message of true substance then you have to absolutely check out Tom MacDonald! The man is a lyrical genius, and he's constantly birthing out new fresh vibes while speaking truth to power! He keeps it real every step of the way and fearlessly calls things out just as they are! The dude is all about truth!
How did I not know about this til so much later, and how is this guy sound so good and is just such an ordinary guy, not some so called old school rapper? Just don't make sense til it makes too much!
Briggs i have to say Sheplife is the best Aus hip hop Album this year.
I think his is even better then the hoods.
homemade bombs was classic, every track bangs!..no doubt about sheplife though
From someone who broke the cycle, im glad to hear music where the musician takes ownership of poor behaviours rather than blaming an external group of people. Good song
Briggs you tell the story exactly how it is. Gave me goosebumps
your voice, flow and look. everything about you makes me proud of where ic ome from and where i am. you are an inspiration cuzzie
The anthem of the days with the brother in the best country God gave the earth. Love ya brother. BLB rep
"Here they come with all their fuckin Drama Bra" Fuckin love that line
Why am I only now just hearing this in triple j? Clearly I've been living under a rock. You have an amazing ability to tell a story in your music, I literally stopped what I was doing just so I could listen to every word. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of your album.
I love his music..Im new to it, literally a week into it and its the best hip hop Ive hear since the 90s
Truly an awesome song, excellent flow and relevant lyrics. Kudos Briggs, keep them coming!
Heard this on Cleverman had to look for it on YT. This is a banger!
I grew up in foster care and even though I feel I was a good kid given the circumstances I caused people headaches and troubles. I hit kids who would bully me kids from soft homes who had never been hit by someone who means it. I was almost expelled and was suspended many times.
Just a few people showing unconditional love turned me around, I ended up winning a good chunk of the academic awards by yr 12, became my years cross country champion and performed well at interschool and went to university although I dropped out for mental health/financial reasons.
These days I drive trucks for coles, my wife is a medical doctor and I have a little boy who won’t go through the cycle I was a part of. My boy will be growing up in a stable family, will have all the sport and educational opportunities he can get and I’m going to do all I can to give him good values and a good life.
I’m so, so, so grateful for people who didn’t treat me like a bad apple.
Your album will be the first I've actually paid for in a long time.
Dope as fuck
Literally cannot stop listening to this.
Normally i pirate all my music. But this is aussie hip hop.

The relevance of this track is through the roof, you painted a vivid picture that exposes the true colours of this pathetic system the country has in place. Much respect briggs, the world needs a wake up call, and you gave it to them! Keep it up homie.
Love ya work Briggs, ya flow's tight as bra!

Love this song, so true! Love what your doing Briggs. Cheeky humour came through on your jjj interview. Bring it on!
Briggs will always be the man. Much love from Scotland.
Wow! Welcome regards Australia
Damn right ;)
I lived in Scotland for years, then after I returned home to Oz I lived in a remote community in the Northern Territory with the kind of indigenous kids that this song is about. It's also a universal song about any kids that are seen by society or their culture as "ratbags" and relates to kids doing it tough in Scotland too.
I love that someone finally put this into words and music. Briggs is the bomb.
I also love that you've been listening to this from my other home, Scotland. Much respect, and hope you folks get independence soon.
Kudos to you for engaging with this important Aussie rap song. Please spread the message.
I miss Scotland. Can't wait to return some day. Big love. X
Head nodding to this. Love when i find an artist previously unknown to me.

❤️ Such powerful lyrics, and such a powerful video. ❤️ I love you, Briggie Smalls. ❤️ You are one of the most razor-sharp rappers that has ever lived. ❤️
In twenty years, Rolling Stone will interview some "Important New Star" and ask about their influences.. and they'll point to this song. Just hope Briggs makes a living off it in the meantime. Go hard, Briggs: you're paving the way bro.

Im 48, I was around when RUN-DMC, Public Enemy, KRS1 first came out, it was poetry, urban poetry, it talked about life, pain, struggle and making it. You sir, remind me of the fathers of rap, you put struggle, love and pain, into lyrics and with great beat. This song gave me chills, it reminded me of my youth, I had no direction, I was lost but I made it, I succeeded. I am going to Amazon or wherever I can find this CD/ album so I can import it to the states, I only keep physical representations of music and your music will be in my collection.
Just randomly discovered this guy, never heard any aussie hip-hop but he's good! Like an Australian Big Pun! Love from the UK
