ah, mark discovers ‘rhythm game mode’, all rhythm gamers unlock that when they’re good enough. they don’t read the notes, *they sense it in their soul and move accordingly*
Basically. What happens is you just unfocus your eyes so you don't end up following the notes. Things get too hectic at higher difficulties to flip your eyes from one note to the next, so you just use your peripheral vision to get an idea of where and what type the notes are, and then use your sense of rhythm to determine the timing. The trick is to be familiar enough with the game that the action of finding/hitting the note patterns is automatic muscle memory. As soon as your brain hiccups and goes "Wait, what?" you're fucked.

I watched matpat take so long to master this game and struggle so much, and then Mark comes in and basically crushes the hardest difficulty level.
That's because Mark turned off inverted controls. MatPat left inverted controls on because _thats the way the game is meant to be played_ but Mark turned on easy mode.

The fact that Mark was able to do the hardest song right after the tutorial and actually get a decent rank is the very ever.
Mark's "I do all my thumbnails in Photoshop with my mouth" gave me instant flashbacks to Bob's "Now I can't get stupid butthole sun out of my mouth." Classic.
Having played/performed 'In the hall of the Mountain King' on trumpet for real, Mark's increasing anxiety and triumph mixed with exhaustion hit me on a personal level 😂

10/10 with Lixian's editing skills, "In the hall of the mountain king" made me laugh uncontrollably until the entire song was over ✨️🫠 I was not having a good study session earlier and this made my day, thank you Mark for being the awesome human that you are! ✨️🍉
3:37 on trombone, you move your hand forward away from you to make the trombone tube longer to LOWER the note. It's inverted by default to be match the experience of moving the trombone tube which means moving your hand away from you matches moving the mouse up, would make the note lower, which matches a note being lower in pitch written further down, making inverted.. *sigh*.. "better"

Technically they are all cheating. The default control is set up to simulate a trombone slide where pushing it away from you lowers the tone. They are ruining an otherwise perfect simulation.

I love how most people lose it with the hilarity of the trombone sounds when you play. Laughing hysterically is the expected but Mark is taking it so goddamn seriously! Earnest and true to prove that he can be THE Trombone Champ and that's just funny on its own. Also another amazing edit work by Lixian!

I was looking for someone to comment about this! I’m in band myself (I play trumpet :)), and the reflections are SO accurate.
It’s like a mirror right by your face, then gets elongated so much that it’s barely even a face anymore, and by the bell is your distorted face that loops around the bell in a weird way.
Whenever I got distracted, I would sometimes look at the reflections of people’s faces on their instruments😂

Literally blows the warm out of the water by breaking the scoring meter (which is the best I've seen any youtuber do on their first attempt) and then get an ACTUALLY NOT HALF BAD score on one of the hardest songs right after. That's impressive honestly.
