Sausage Roll Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup of Flour
2 - 3 tablespoons of cold Margarine
1/2 a teaspoon of Baking powder
1/2 a teaspoon of Nutmeg
1/2 a teaspoon of Ginger powder
1/2 a teaspoon of Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of Salt
How to
Mix together 1 1/2 cup of sifted flour, 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 a teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 a teaspoon of ginger powder , 1/2 a teaspoon of nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Next, add 2-3 tablespoons of cold margarine. Mix till well combined. Add 1/2 a cup of cold water. Mix and knead into a ball. When too sticky add more flour to make it more manageable.
Dust your working surface and rolling pin with some flour. Transfer dough to surface area. Roll out dough with rolling pin. Trim rough edges.
Divide dough accordingly to size of sausage. Place sausage on dough, roll dough to cover sausage. Seal ends with egg wash (1 egg whisked with a tablespoon of water)
Transfer sausage rolls to baking tray lined with baking sheet. Braise sausage roll with egg wash. Bake in a pre heated oven at 180degrees for 40 mins.
