I used the ''Canson Illustration paper'' for this drawing, in case people are wondering (The size that I have is an A5 size, pretty small). The ''Deleter paper'' is mostly used to make manga pages, that's why you have the guide lines on the side of the paper. If you want me to make a tutorial on how to use it, let me know ;)
One thing I really didn't want to do is practice a lot. One, because I think everyone wants to get straight to drawing masterpieces, and two, because you wouldn't want to "waste" any materials you have just practicing. But this video really reassured that that's the only way to become familiar with the pen, and I'm glad you reimbursing that fact of practicing.
6:30 #1 Ink from left to right, if you're left handed then vice versa 7:12 #2 Ink with confidence -> practice 7:36 #3 Don't get carried away with inking, be mindful (its wet!) 8:17 #4 Fill in the big spots with a marker or brush (or scan and fill it in digitally.) 8:36 #5 Dip the pen all the way into the ink until it fills the hole on the nib. (watch the clip) 9:28 #6 Don't ink upside down, the circular bit facing up 9:48 #7 Practice as much as you can 10:30 #8 If you draw manga, use a g-pen for more organic lines 11:06 #9 Don't use a g-pen for straight pens or speed-lines (use a regular pen.) 11:53 #10 Do not let the ink dry on the g-pen, It can spoil the nib (dip it in the water, then use a paper towel to dry and clean off the excess.)
Good advice. There is a show called Manben about popular mangaka and their work process. I recommend everyone to watch just to see how wildly differently the techniques different manga use. The Golgo 13 mangak at one point just uses a sharpie lol and his cigar heat to dry the ink
Doesn’t really matter how long but just keep trying constantly. If you don’t put in much it’s gonna take a long time. If you do put in effort then maybe 3 years if your starting from the bottom. Also you would also want good learning sources
Hi, may be try to set the camera from top view. It is not possible to see your inking process. And the bokeh effect from the aperture setting makes it even hard to watch your video.
I don’t think that how it works. If you want darker grey parts in manga you use screentone. Although that’s really expensive (10$ per sheet). I put it my shading digitally. If you don’t have neither of those you could use more hatching.
It's probably due to the protective coat on the nib (most have one). You need to heat it a bit with a lighter before using it. Some CZcams videos show you how to do that ! (btw, sorry for my english, hope you understood)
@@mantaray79 don't immediately erase when you're finished inking, let the ink seep and dry into the paper for at least 4 hours to a full day. Or if you're in a hurry just let it dry in front of a fan for like 5 mins and erase with little to no pressure, just lightly tap and swipe away
Different shaped nibs, -look up G pen manga, you can also get Calligraphy pens (what you want to get is manuscript leonardt ) the hole lot pen/nibs and ink should cost no more then £/$ 10.

Cool stuff! I'll stick to Photoshop, but I appreciate patience and dedication to the art! Awesome drawing, by the way. :)
There is a digital G Pen so that's nice

Definitely ;)
That was super helpful, thanks bro!
watching this while using my newly bought gpen. 😁
These nibs are called 3:45
-small=Maru pen
-middel=Tama pen
-large=G pen
what brush are you using man? very useful to fill large areas and faster also, using the g-pen to fill large areas is time consuming
If you want a good brand G pen, go for either Zebra brand G pen, or Tachikawa brand G pen. Ok? Ok.
Very helpful! Just started using g pens today, and I was getting very frustrated.
planing to be a manga artist in future?
Hey wow first time checking out your channel, and mn this is good stuff! keep it up

How long did you take to draw at this level? I wanna know so I can get better

Impressive... Is there an equivalent with cartridge or something so you don't have to dip ?
Thanks
A sakura pigment fineliner is the closest thing u can get to Dip pens but it's just that u wont really get the line variation u get with a g pen
@@Shusuiiiiiiii Actually I do like the line variation... fineliners have a technical drawing feeling I don't really like.
Can you recreate this video after 5 years? Im asking because ive seen tour art and i think you are even more experienced now

Please give your ink pen link which you uses for sketch drawing
Thank you :)
"Don't ink upside down" - why? I get much thinner lines this way than the "correct" way and it's faster than switching a nib to a different one.
It hurts the pen and if you ever want to get better at using the pen or make your art look better you should just use it the right way
Please make a tutorial on drawing Rize Kamashiro

Please make a tutorial video on how to draw Rize Kamashiro from the anime Tokyo Ghoul

CZcams's unusually bad at understanding what he says and making lyrics. I've seen "G-pen" written as:
• jeep an
• AG pan
• Japan
Japan is accurate lol
Do not use toilet paper to dry your pens,, toilet paper is thin and has a bigger chance of clogging up your pens,, you should use cloth
From my experiance it doesn't really matter what to use when drying off a g pen.
You said how to. But you blurred xdd
probably get a zebra gpen
zebra gpen are what pro manga artists in jp generally use
By _“g pen”_ I think you meant to say _“I’m a sucker than just paid $20.00 for something that’s worth less than 99¢.”_ jk lol
You pissed me off with that camera angle when drawing
