In standard form I believe that's done in the usual way - by switching the whole track from analogue to digital. As soon as the rails are a constant 12v the lane changer power led is solid green. As you can see, even in analogue mode the changer power was switched according to how much throttle the driver was giving the car.
Hopefully it has a switch to change back and forth between digital and analog.
