Good stuff. FOV definitely is preference. Yes higher FOV lets you see more around you, but also makes targets smaller. Its why some Counter-Strike pros play at 4:3 aspect ratio, the narrow focused view makes everything closer but also perceived larger, so easier to acquire and move to targets (for some). Trying multiple things to find what feels easier is what's ideal.
I've been fighting fov settings on stream since the bandit came out.. still undecided tbh.

I will try some of these tips and let you know the results! I am currently at 97 FOV and considering raising it... but raising my FOV may cause me to need to change my other settings, so change is scary.. but maybe it's worth a try to up the FOV for the bandit Evo

ever since i got back into halo in s3 on Mnk youve been the main source of info. the stuff i learned from your vids ,as well as tips from XLR8 , have improved my understanding of inputs and game mechanics so much i went from gold 1 in season3 to diamond 2 in s4 . im only at 380 hours from season 3-4 but using all these tools and improving feels like playing with pros is possible , thnx so much for what you do! also quick question. As a MnK player , i focus alot on my accuracy above all other stats. i make it a goal every game to get at least 52-58%acc which i usually achieve but landing shots doesnt win games alone. so when reviewing my games shoudl i worry about my accuracy or more the "where and when" to take good shots. thnx again for all your awesome vids =)

On ranked matches I sit around a 65%-70% accuracy right now. I solo que. But it's really tough getting a team that can actually play at a high level and keep up the pace. I would like to get to Onyx but I'll have to keep grinding for now. I'm Plat 1 currently and just started playing ranked about 2 weeks ago. Good video!
Plat 1 isn't bad for 2 weeks ago! Try not to think of your teammates too much.. try and figure out what you can do better. Hitting shots is good, getting kills is good, but there is so so so much more. Good luck in the grind!
Plat 1 to onyx is a bigger gap than it sounds. Trust me, its taken me a year to go from gold 3 to plat 6 (highest rank currently) but like dude said shooting well is only the first step

I basically play on Quake Pro, and even played TF2 comp like it. It's a good aim trainer.

as a m/kb player I wondered why I was always getting more assist guess its harder to cross map on controller
You just have to make up more of tracing targets and maneuver of the cross hair with 95-100 FOV. 115-120 you adjust less on following up the cross hair on targets just my experience. Both are fine it’s all preference

I've been on the fence a bit! A LOT of pros have gone up in FOV but I've found that 107 fits me PERFECTLY. I think it's just preference honestly.

Been rocking 120 fov for forever , I’m actually the opposite when it comes to fov , I like seeing ants and I’m good with minor adjustments and tracking , smaller fov makes targets bigger and I tend to over correct so I miss my shots , I’m the sniper in my friend group

If your controller has trigger stops I’d recommend testing it out, if you use trigger to shoot. I noticed a significant change in ROF. Lmk if you agree.
The octagon mode/map isn’t spawning the enemy bot for me. I’ve made sure LoS check is off and tried several versions of the mode. Any idea how to fix?
In the Octagon mode you should be using a friend. The bot won't work well on Octagon.
I played with a ton of FOVs and legit went against all my friends advice (100 fov) and went to 125 and immediately felt a massive difference. It was wayyyy better for my shots. Is there a reason you stop at 120 and not max it?
Higher would make fisheye lena effect too big and im not sure that seing 180 would carry any benefit. Also "maxing out" fov would mean that you see 360 around you and that would be silly 😅
120 _is_ the max in Infinite...

Kind of surprised to read not everyone uses 120 FOV. It’s first setting I change in any FPS.
When you really have to aim (MNK), is not always great advise to make the target smaller
@@adan507 It’s easier to disengage targets which are far away than ones which are close but which I don’t see because they’re off screen. Also, Halo has aim assist on MnK.
Not necessarily better for every fps game to play at 120 fps. Sometimes it can have the opposite effect. Best to find a middle ground.
what is your point? i think i just said a fact: when you have to use your eyes to aim, bigger target easier. Yes MNK should not have AA but try 120 FOV vs bots as teammates with controller and tell me how good aimer you feel, key concept as teammates if you use less than 15 shots for a kill or 15 seconds i would be surprised@@egmont5044

@@spartanx1386 Yeah it's not worth it. Rank Arena since season 2 it's more like if you are bored killing noobs on social and want a challenge, you hop in into that game mode but I think it should be like this because their system on Rank is atrocious.

Im currently hard stuck on D1 1220-1200 sometime even drop to plat then get back to D1 its been like this an entire month :( my aim is fine just not settled on a permanent settings for my controller currently using acceleration 4 horizontal 3.5 vertical 3 my accuracy majority of my ranked games is 60plus sometim3s even hit 70.
Really frustrated and sometimes tilt queue bad.
I do feel like i still need to work on my strafe :(
My current setup is xbox series x gaming monitor 120fps setup elite controller with paddles. My question is this. Is halo infinite more responsive on pc I.e input delay? Sometimes I really get shit on so bad feel like I'm at such a disadvantage on console.
Lot of xbox guys play on pc with pad. Feel like it's a huge advantage for them.
As a mnk player it’s definitely harder to get kills now. Not easier. My shot percentage went up but getting that last hs is a challenge on mouse
I would urge that you're doing something wrong. Come by the stream, maybe I can help.
It just sounds like you need to change up your sense or aim train some more.

I stopped playing Halo recently as my poor connection is making the game worse and worse as the population keeps declining. Being is Australia definitely doesn't help.

Yep, I get 14-20 ping in casual play depending on playlist, but 79-82 consistent ping in ranked. I’m on fiber. The servers ruin this game for me.

The best tip i ever got about infinite was uninstall
People are moving their pov to 115 and 120 talking about stop cross mapping. Meanwhile those of us playing around 100 are 5 shotin from across the map so play based off your fov.
Long range fights are 100% much better on a lower FOV. Agreed.

Skill gap between MnK and Controller is silly now dude, what have they done? 🤦🏻♂️ The accuracy and movement advantage of MnK using a semi-auto rifle is daunting. This is Halo. 75% of the player base is on console, let alone respecting the fact that Halo as a franchise has always played a pivotal roll in console gaming. Active is legit telling us that controller is at a massive disadvantage and no one with significant influence is calling it out as a problem. And before anyone says “look what the pros use”… Active has already exposed the fact that LAN tournaments simply don’t have PCs to use and stock only Series X systems throughout pools. If players could use whatever they wanted or if the tourneys were solely online, the majority of HCS players would be on MnK.
You're extremely wrong here. You talk to any professional player and they will tell you that controller is still better.
@@ActiveeTV Respectfully, let’s say that is the case… are we just gonna ignore the fact that this weapon not only is more difficult to use than the BR, but arguably easier for PC to master (don’t think that’s debatable personally), which makes the onboarding of new players EVEN worse than it already is. People focusing on what the “Pro Players” want are part of the reason Halo isn’t fun anymore for the average Joe wanting to check out a new shooter or at least return to this one. Can’t tell you how many of my friends have jumped on to this game because the announcement of the new update only to be force to use a gun the doesn’t feel like Halo to them, the game missing core features that enable longevity, or are getting clicked off the screen by MnK the second they start ranking up in Arena. You can say I’m wrong all you want brother… but the numbers don’t lie. Season 5 saw an uptake in player count for the first week at 18k on Steam and then plummeted right back down to its old average of 7k within a few days after. The game isn’t “fun” and it’s because no one with influence is standing up for average player. “gEt GoOd” right? Sure, I get it. But what I would like to see is the player count rise and a have a level of hype return to the game. As someone who has witnessed over 10 different people stop playing because of this gun, simply don’t like it, or at least prefer the BR, something tells me this weapon isn’t helping the cause of Halo being Back and wish you’d acknowledge that.

Mouse user here. I do like the Bandit EVO. My accuracy has gone down slightly compared to my accuracy in during the BR start era but I’m doing better with regard to KDA, I guess because BE hits matter more than BR hits.
Genuinely don't think octagon helps anything. Maybe in short spurts, like to 25 kills. I did it with a buddy and yeah it's a pretty brainless means of putting yourself in a scenario you'll never be in when you're in an actual game. I'm just a lowly diamond player who started playing again recently since a month or two after launch, so I'm not pretending to be great. Maybe it's just a personal thing too... I have ADHD and being bored out of my fucking mind doesn't help me pay attention lol
Pros have been using Octagon since forge was released. So yeah it's a personal thing haha, all good though, do whatever you need to do to improve 😁

Some maps work better for controller and others mnk. I had a game against a full stack of mnk on starboard no one was on mics on my team, could not move out anywhere without shields broke ttk feels way faster if there scoped in and accurate. I checked after seen most if not all were on kbm with fresh accounts but I think this season more people like myself should attempt mnk.
TLDR: Plug in a controller.

I cant count how many times i have been 5 shot and i play diamond lobbies. I dont think that is normal.
Meta has shifted to closer ranges and controllers keep having the better aim due to some microchip help. Hitting the last shot on controller seems like a walk in the park and for MNK is hard.
Thanks 343, people will come, will see, will ask why they are losing so much 1v1 and will go to MW3, if only this oportunity was used to hard balance the controller at least in ranked but no.

The reach comp scene didn’t exist. It was awful. And don’t bring up zero bloom, game was dead before that. I don’t get the move to a single fire weapon which feels like it has way easier red reticle aim assist. I’m getting way more perfects and reversals. It’s not a skill gap, when literally I let go of my stick and use the bullet magnetism and aim assist to register hits. The BR had less of both, and required more team coordination, but I do like the less cross map action with the bandit, but I think the should have just decreased red reticule scoped in with the BR… think how H3 was in a distance.
I meant MCC port to PC first game Reach and comp with MNK was impossible. Was like playing vs robots. Old AA logic was cranked to 11 for whatever reason.@@boristeplitskiy7632

Its still really tuff to beat crazy aim assist, i dont know why they cant tune it down.
My logic is if a method of input is superior due to its mechanics, then it should show. Only thing that shows is how stupid the 343 aim bot is. Like you get people pistol spaming on controller and their croshair will not move and inch off the screen and 343 is like... yes this is what we need more of. Imagine if you could use a mnk in pro tournaments and it be viable. Tracking is no diffrent than any other game (Apex, fortnite, any game with shields) and they dont need to give crazy aim assist to help garbage players play. I still cant trust them after putting negitive aim assist on the sniper when zoomed in. How can that not be intentional fuck u. Why even release these games on PC if your gonna just cater to your console so hard, that nearly every pc player uninstalls ? Anyone wanna say skill issue, are the same mf getting dumped on in every other game where they dont give you training wheels. If its a console game leave it on there if this is what your gonna just add a gun in the game thats a slight change.
