Welcome to the new episode of mind wellness by Dr Susan Koruthu
This episode discusses the behaviour of narcissists in their family life, especially the couple relationship and parent-child relationship.
In the couple relationship, the partner of the narcissist should invest heavily in their relationship. The narcissist wants their partner to pamper their false self. The narcissist wants constant mirroring from the partner. They want the partner to behave the way they want them to be.
The narcissist continually seeks stroking from the partner, a gentle caring behaviour. If they don’t get the stroking, they slowly withdraw from the partner and the closeness disappears. The victim sees the lack of intimacy as a significant loss as they must have put a lot of effort into building their marriage strong. The victim becomes fearful and becomes susceptible to narcissistic injury.
A narcissistic parent sees their kids as an extension of self. They demand their kids to be high achievers. They experience jealousy and envy when compared with others. They take credit for the success of their children and personalize their kid’s failures. As a result, they suffer from narcissistic wound. They punish their kids through words and deeds. When living with a narcissistic parent, the child finds it hard to get their own needs met - this can lead to severe emotional problems. The narcissist parent will act like a child which can lead to a power struggle between the child and parent.
All these problem behaviour can cause a strain in the relationship of the couple. The only way to keep the family going is to invest in their narcissistic supply in the right manner.
This video will help you understand the typical behaviour of a narcissist in the family. You are responsible for the wellbeing of your life. Take responsibility for your life and live your life in a happy and fulfilling way you deserve.

My narcissist mother destroyed my entire life. She has been abusing me since I was a toddler. That innocent little child didn't know then that her mother was a devil. It took decades to figure out who she is and what damages she has done to me! She destroyed everything in my life, my education, my career, my finance, my marriage, my health, all of me 😠😡 She did all these cruelties while she was reaping all the benefits from my hard work "using" my name and money, that too me being a cancer survivor! Yes she gave me cancer when I was a teenager, inflicting severe emotional trauma!😰 Being an empath, I was severely affected beyond words can describe.
The moment I came to know this momster's real face and intent, I immediately went "no contact" with the help of psychotherapists and hypnotists. That was the very first time in my life I felt relief and freedom.
She is still after me, even now, stalking and smear campaigning me! I STRONGLY believe karma will take action in no time.

As you. Rightly expect, karma willdefenitely bring a solution to yo ur Proublem. without fail. However do not try to use your mind to find.out a solution, which you can't. Just be & observe. The more you emphasize your mind fr a solution you are going away from its solution.
My parents are narcissist... They always ignored my dreams. Even after my marriage they still interfere in our life and ask us to follow their expectations and wishes...It is really a worst situation
My husband is like this he feels I don meet his expectations he shows withdrawal and sleeps in other room and too much mobile addicted.I have to compromise for kids😓

They even don't like their children getting married.
They hate confidence happiness joy and freedom . Whenever a child it is near to experience this their first priority is destroying it
Maybe they will be with you when you are sad and weak but they will definitely not be there when you are trying to share your happiness and achievements. Gives you the weird sense of loneliness
The moment you realise
The highest form of loneliness is there is no one to share your happiness
They never loved you
They always wanted to to see their child as a pathetic suffering creature
They want their golden child to achieve top levels always. They get validation through that.

Educate yourself by reading and watching videos of NPD. Then you will know to analyse a narcissist and you will know what to do. Dr.Susan is a blessing for whole Malayalees. People in Kerala are ignorant about such topics.

What should a victim do if mother is narcissistic and is controlling her/his life even after his marriage... Avoid or maintain the relationship...

Could you suggest therapists or therapy centres for NPD? Normal counsellors couldnt spot anything in my case, its mental drain! Children involved, threats to take them away also there, please do video on therapy, thank you

It is toxic and difficult, but you can safeguard your life.
Let me tell you a story. Seven people in a household are narcissists. fighting each other. They marry into seven families. Fighting with those seven family members destroys all the seven families. They still fight each other. They fight with all the seven children they have and hurt all the children by not letting them live.
What can the children do if the mother is a narcissist? Who will give justice to the children for being tortured and brought up as nothing from childhood? Being a mother, everyone stay with her.
Any treatment for this disorder... is it is curable... my husband is narcissistic...... cannot tolerable... verbally physically abusing.... mirroring stroking ... i fed up
It can be treatable to manage but not curable. The person should be willing to take personality transformation therapy

There are specialised therapist for it, normal therapist wont be able to help as personality disorders are complicated to deal with and complex in understanding. Not all hospitals will have such specialists.

Can medication/therapy help in such cases of personality disorders? Or is it always the victim who will need to understand?
Normally therapy and skills coaching helps. Medication will not have much effect in such cases.
As far as I know there is no solution, no cure for narcissistic personality disorder👹 They are demons 👹
Victims can get medication, counseling, different therapies, meditation, etc. In fact victims must get help, else they end up physically and emotionally damaged!

I find my mother is a combination of somatic, sexual and malignant narcissist! Such a dangerous combination 👹 No man can deal with this woman, period. She keeps marrying for her supplies!
As a scapegoat daughter, she abused me all my life for decades, destroyed my education, my dream, my married life, my career, my health, my finances, you name it. Her son who looks like her has always been her golden child.
